Treyarch respond to hilarious Cold War Air Patrol Scorestreak glitch

Black Ops Cold War’s Air Patrol is apparently trying to be too helpful and Treyarch dev FoxhoundFPS has responded to its new glitch.

The Air Patrol Scorestreak in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is getting a bit too close to the action, and Treyarch dev FoxhoundFPS has issued a reply to the incredible Scorestreak glitch.

Call of Duty’s Air Patrol Scorestreak is often disregarded in favor of other more attacking Scorestreaks. Yet, they can single-handedly bring down VTOLs, Chopper Gunners, and Gunships in the blink of an eye.

For some reason, Season 3 of CoD: Cold War has caused its Scorestreaks to behave a bit irrationally. First gamers were complaining about the Napalm Strike Scorestreak misfiring by some distance, now Air Patrols are taking ‘Danger Close’ a bit too literally.

It’s hard to truly capture the incredible scene that Deadward_Riptofen was greeted by during their game of Hardpoint on Cold War’s Armada map.

The footage was posted as usual to the Black Ops Cold War subreddit and showed the player sprinting towards the contested Hardpoint, only to encounter a rather low-flying plane.

It turns out that one of the Air Patrol planes that had been called in tried to go above and beyond what was asked of it.

Instead of flying over the ship and taking care of any problematic Scorestreaks in the area, the plane flew completely on the deck, passing through numerous obstacles as though they weren’t there.

It’s a very amusing clip and even caught the eye of regular Cold War Reddit moderator, Treyarch’s Community Manager Josh “FoxhoundFPS” Torres.

He said, “Danger. Close. I’ll let our team know about this.”

Along with the aforementioned Napalm Scorestreak bug, we presume that Air Patrol planes will be back to prowling the skies in no time.

Cold War players have reported that DLC weapons such as the CARV.2 and Ballistic Knife have vanished from the game since the Season 4 update.

BOCW carv and ballistic knife missing

Black Ops Cold War players have reported that several weapons including the CARV.2 Tactical Rifle and Ballistic Knife have disappeared after the Season 4 update.

While the latest season of Cold War and Warzone is yet to officially launch, players can already download the Season 4 update. This includes significant changes to the game’s Assault Rifles, changes to League Play, and the powerful new Hand Cannon Scorestreak.

However, players have reported that previous seasons’ DLC weapons, including the CARV.2 and the Ballistic Knife, are missing from the loadout selection screen.

Cold War ballistic knife

Over the course of the previous seasons, several weapons have been added mid-season through challenges, such as the Baseball Bat, R1 Shadowhunter, and the Ballistic Knife.

Since the Season 4 update to Cold War, players are reporting that some these weapons are missing from the weapon selection screen. The Cold War Reddit has been filled with players asking where their favorite weapons have gone since the update.

So far, Cold War players have reported that the CARV.2, Ballistic Knife, and ZRG 20mm are missing, but there could be more. User Youtube_Man_100 showed that the Ballistic Knife is missing from their menu. Although there is no date on the image, it features a comparison to the Baseball Bat, which arrived after the projectile knife.

In the comments to this post, another user said that the ZRG and the CARV.2 are also missing, and other Reddit posts back up this report.

This bug doesn’t seem to be affecting all players though, with some reporting that the Ballistic Knife is still there for them.

Treyarch are yet to acknowledge this frustrating bug, but Senior Treyarch Community Manager Josh “FoxhoundFPS” Torres regularly trawls through the Cold War subreddit, so may provide an update soon.

Cold War Season 4 weapon buffs & nerfs: AK-47, XM4, Krig 6

Black Ops Cold War Season 4 sees Treyarch make sweeping balancing changes to a number of Assault Rifles, including the XM4 and AK-47.

Cold War Season 4 character shooting an Assault Rifle

Black Ops Cold War’s Season 4 update is here, and as always, Treyarch have been tinkering with the game’s weapon balance, with buffs and nerfs for a number of guns.

Weapon balancing is a huge part of keeping any game fresh, giving developers the opportunity to tweak the meta to make overpowered weapons more manageable, or to give guns that aren’t being used often a much-needed boost.

The launch of the Season 4 patch gives Treyarch the perfect opportunity to buff and nerf a number of weapons in an attempt to shake things up, and the developers have focused on a single class of guns this time around.

Season 3: Reloaded saw Treyarch work on SMGs, Sniper Rifles, and a number of attachments, but with Season 4, the focus is clearly on Assault Rifles. Here’s a breakdown of the big changes coming with the new patch.

Assault Rifle changes in Cold War Season 4

Assault Rifles are going to feel very different in Season 4. All seven guns in the class have been adjusted in some manner, mostly focusing on the attachments that players use with them.

Suppressors will definitely become more widespread thanks to Treyarch‘s decision to reduce the range penalties on most ARs, although it has been slightly increased by 2% on the ultra-powerful AK-47. The QBZ-83 and Groza have also had their penalties increased slightly to bring them in line with the class average.

The biggest change comes for the XM4 though, which sees a huge 11% drop in range penalty, making the already strong gun even more useful.
