Possible PS5 version of Modern Warfare found

Call of Duty fans love Modern Warfare more than most other titles in the franchise. It seems we might be getting a next-gen remaster soon.

Published

Call of Duty fans love Modern Warfare more than most other titles in the franchise. Thus the idea of a PS5 remaster of the title is exciting, and it seems we might be getting that sooner than we think.

Modern Warfare is arguably the most popular title in the entire Call Of Duty franchise. For many fans, it’s what got them into the series so whenever there’s a new development announced about it, the hype is enormous.

Infinity Ward Lead Multiplayer VFX Artist Reed Shingledecker recently confirmed new Modern Warfare content soon. The recent release of Black Ops: Cold War made it seem like that would be the main thing Activision would be focusing on for a while, so this is definitely came as a big surprise.

There is mass speculation about what he was referring to and one reddit user has created hype for a potential PS5 version of Modern Warfare. Here’s everything we know about this possible leak.

Next-Gen Modern Warfare on PS5 Leak

Reddit user asjonesy99 made a post in r/GamingLeaksAndRumours which strongly hints at a next-gen version of the title coming soon. The drop-down menu displayed the PS4 version when purchasing the game, but what caught fans’ eyes was the option for a PS5 version.

When the player tried to pick this option, it became locked. This could be some sort of glitch or something that’s currently in development.

It’s hard to tell whether or not this is a legitimate hint at an upcoming PS5 version of Modern Warfare. It’s entirely likely that this could just be a simple error with the disc and this whole leak amounts to practically nothing.

Modern Warfare has become a huge staple for FPS fans so the excitement that this leak caused is completely understandable. The possibility of a next-gen Modern Warfare for a whole new group of young players is nice to think about.

Keep in mind that this is still a rumor and we’ll keep checking for updates on this. That said, we hope to see a PS5 remaster of this title soon. Even if we don’t, we now know that there definitely is more Modern Warfare content on its way and that’s exciting on its own.

Best settings for FPS in Black Ops Cold War

The best settings for max FPS on Black Ops Cold War

Published

on

Here’s the best settings to maximize your FPS in Black Ops Cold War.

In first person shooters, maximizing FPS is one of the best advantages you can have while playing. Higher FPS means more fluid gameplay, assuming your display supports frames in excess of 60. Most monitors come in variants of 60, 120, 144, 165, and 240 Hz, which all support much smoother gameplay.

However, the biggest crutch on your frame output will be your hardware. In this list, we’ll be going over all of the settings in Black Ops Cold War, and what to set them to in order to ensure the best FPS output, but to also ensure high quality visuals with medium/high tier graphics card/CPU combos.

For those using NVIDIA 1000 series cards, it’s best to stick with low/medium settings. Users rocking the 2060 and 2070 will be able to get away with more robust low/medium mix settings, and on the higher end (2080, 3000 series) players can use both high/ultra graphics while still getting max frames.

I thought putting everything on low was the best way?

If you’re on low end hardware – the answer to this is yes. If you’re running a 7th gen i5 processor and 1660, this is your best bet.

However, if you’re running a high powered graphics card and a high-end CPU, you’ll be able to crank out high graphics and frames. Putting resolution down won’t affect much from high settings – unless you want 5 extra frames that badly, but when you have a 3080 and an i9-9900k, it’s not much larger in the grand scheme of things.

Simply put, your GPU on the high end is very powerful. Don’t let your GPU do less work than it’s capable of. Keep that in mind while reading. Now let’s get to the guide.

Best Settings

Hardware

  • Gameplay V-Sync: Disabled (Unless you have bad screen tearing)
  • Menu V-Sync: Disabled
  • NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency: Enabled (Boosted)

Display

  • Field of View: Personal choice, don’t be afraid to raise this to 90-120.
  • Framerate Limit: Custom
    • Use this category to adjust frame rates when on menus, in-game and when it’s minimized. Recommend to set gameplay to max (300) menu to your monitors refresh rate, and minimized to about half of the frames you normally get in game. On our 3080 setup, we have this set to 90.

Details & Texture

  • Texture Quality: Low/Medium (Depending on card tier, 3080+ can do high/ultra)
  • Model Quality: Medium
  • Special Effects Quality: Medium
  • Screen Space Reflection: Low
  • Object View Distance: Low (This is a CPU heavy option)

Shadow and Lighting

The shadows effect FPS the most. If you’re on a high-end GPU you can run these high but for most GPU’s follow the below recommendations. If you’re on a 3070 or 2070, you can set these to medium.

  • Volumetric Lighting – Low
  • Shadow Quality – Low
  • Dynamic Shadows – All (this helps with awareness)
  • Special Effect Shadows – Disabled
  • Weapon Shadow – Disabled

Post Processing Effects

  • NVIDIA DLSS – Performance
  • Ambient Occlusion Quality – Low
  • Motion Blur – Disabled
  • Subsurface Scattering – Disabled
  • Order Independent Transparency – Low

Advanced

  • VRAM Usage Target – Default 80%. If you are experiencing hitching in game, try 70%.

Hopefully these settings help. If you run into any issues, we’ve also included the Black Ops Cold War system requirements chart just in case if you need a refresher.

PS5 & Black Ops Cold War top UK’s best-sellers chart for November

Published

on

Treyarch’s newest Black Ops iteration has outsold every other new game for the month of November in the UK.

Black Ops Cold War is the #1 best selling game for November 2020 in UK, per GFK market data released on December 2.

The game beats out other huge titles, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, FIFA 21 and Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales trailing behind at the second through fourth spot, respectively.

According to the data, the vast majority of sales for Black Ops Cold War were through digital purchases, with physical boxed copies being drastically less than usual due to the ongoing pandemic. Interestingly enough, while Call of Duty was the #1 selling title for November, Spider Man: Miles Morales was actually the best selling game on PlayStation 5.

The launch title was a large part of the PS5’s marketing, and it’s no surprise PlayStation fans went for copies of it with their initial console purchase.

In terms of game sales overall, interestingly the Nintendo Switch takes the top spot for most game sales for the month of November, most likely coming from Black Friday sales. Titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 flew off the shelves.

For the physical hardware sales, PlayStation takes the #1 spot as the best selling console in the UK, followed by the heavily demanded Nintendo Switch system, which has kept that high demand since its launch in mid-2017. Microsoft’s Xbox is not mentioned in the data for this metric.

The launch of the new game systems also sparked a new demand for console accessories, which spiked 61.4% compared to the previous month, and jumped 48.3% when compared to November 2019.

The top selling accessories for the month were as follows

  • #1 – PS5 DualSense Controller
  • #2 – PS5 Pulse 3D Headset
  • #3 – PS4 Dualshock
  • #4/5 – Xbox Series X/S Controller (Shock Blue, Carbon Black)
  • #7 – PS5 Media Remote
  • #8 – Dual Sense charging Station
  • #9 – Xbox Series X/S Controller (Robot White)
  • #11 – PS5 HD Camera

The PlayStation brand dominates this chart with a wide variety of accessories, where the Xbox takes some slots, but all for extra custom colored controllers.

Additionally, the GfK also provided data for the top 20 selling games of November 2020, with Activision titles like Black Ops Cold War and Crash Bandicoot 4 holding the #1 and #20 spots.

Top 20 Best Selling Games For November 2020 UK (Data from GfK)
