Unreleased Modern Warfare CX-9 SMG shown off in new Warzone Payload gameplay video
The unreleased Modern Warfare CX-9 SMG has been a hot topic in the Call of Duty community, as players would like to see it added to Warzone. This hope got some added support in a new gameplay video for the upcoming Warzone Payload game mode.
The Season 4 Reloaded update is not bringing a great deal of new content to the world of Warzone, with two of the biggest additions officially coming being the new Sentry Gun killstreak and Payload game mode.
However, a new gameplay video showing off footage of the Payload game mode in action released by Treyarch Studios has injected a great deal of excitement in the community, as it surprisingly showed off a character using the unreleased Modern Warfare CX-9 SMG.
Warzone CX-9 SMG
Players are likely to remember when the unreleased Modern Warfare SMG could be found as legendary loot in the Call of Duty battle royale with no official announcements regarding its addition.
This weapon was then removed from the game, and there has been no official word of it coming back to Modern Warfare or Warzone by any of the development studios.
However, it looks as though there could be some hope of the Warzone CX-9 SMG possibly being added sometime following the Season 4 Reloaded update thanks to a new video published by Treyarch Studios diving into the new content coming to the Call of Duty battle royale in Season 4 Reloaded.
The footage in question starts at the 8:15 minute mark of the video, where the gameplay of the new Payload game mode starts to play.
Several scenes follow, showing off a character using the unreleased Warzone CX-9 SMG to fight enemy players.
Now, there was no official mention of the Warzone CX-9 SMG being added in the Season 4 Reloaded update in the roadmap for all of the new content coming to the battle royale.
The only SMG announced to be arriving in the game with this new update is the OTs 9, so the inclusion of the unreleased Modern Warfare weapon would indeed be a huge surprise that would likely be met with plenty of excitement from the community.
