Vahn says next Call of Duty won’t have jet packs, says he still has ‘PTSD’ from fan reaction

Treyarch’s Studio Design Director Vonderhaar appears to have given a small hint as to the 2020 Call of Duty game in a couple of tweets this morning.
A fan replied to a post of his saying “you better have jet packs in the next COD” to which Vahn replied “NO.”
Another fan followed up by suggesting that “jet packs will revive Call of Duty” to which Vahn said he still has PTSD from the fan reactions to the jet pack era of Call of Duty. He even says fans “hung me from the highest branch” for having it in Black Ops 3.
There still is no official information on the 2020 Call of Duty game beyond that it will be developed by Treyarch with Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software supporting the studio with the game.
Rumors have suggested that the game will take place in the Cold War era, encompassing the Vietnam War as well as part of the game.
The new title will also be launching with the next generation consoles that are coming this holiday season.

New Cold War Zombies Outbreak Collapse mode explained
Here’s everything you need to know about the new Outbreak Collapse LTM coming to Black Ops Cold War Zombies.
Not finished with Black Ops Cold War Zombies yet? Treyarch will be adding the new Outbreak Collapse LTM alongside Vanguard’s Season 3 update. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Zombies Outbreak mode.
Black Ops Cold War’s Outbreak mode landed with an immediate positive reception. Moving away from the claustrophobic round-based maps, Outbreak has players fighting in a huge, Warzone-sized area.
Alongside announcing new Black Ops Cold War content, Treyarch confirmed that Outbreak would be receiving a new limited-time mode later in April — Outbreak Collapse. Here’s everything you need to know about Cold War’s new Outbreak Collapse LTM.
Rather than the traditional round-based gameplay Zombies fans are used to, Outbreak puts players in a sprawling area where they need to complete objectives to advance to the next round.
The devs added the Outbreak Survival LTM back in 2021 and announced in an April 14 blog post that they are introducing its “spiritual successor” alongside Vanguard Season 3 on April 27.
What is Outbreak Collapse in Cold War Zombies?
Cold War’s Outbreak Collapse will arrive on all platforms, where players must “outlast increasingly intense waves for 10 minutes before attempting to exfil from a single Region.”
Players get the choice between two regions to Infiltrate and then must survive for ten minutes, with the difficulty ramping up every two minutes. After surviving these ten minutes, players must “race to the exfil point at the farthest possible position from your squad while a massive surge of zombies closes in on your position.”
To make it even more difficult, there will be an Orda “that knows exactly where you are,” and Forsaken’s Abomination enemy. The Abomination is a massive three-headed monster, so make sure you take out all three to kill it.
This isn’t all CoD Zombies fans have to look forward to, as there will be new Onslaught LTMs, a new easter egg, and Shi No Numa arrives in Vanguard Zombies Season 4 as a classic round-based experience.

Treyarch dev confirms fix for invisible Zombies glitch coming soon
Invisible Zombies have long been ruining Black Ops Cold War’s Onslaught, but a fix is officially on the way.
Treyarch have announced a ton of new content for Black Ops Cold War which will include a fix for a frustrating bug that turns Zombies completely invisible.
Black Ops Cold War was chock-full of Zombies content by the end of its lifecycle and is set to receive even more, including a new weapon, the Outbreak Collapse LTM, a new easter egg, and Onslaught updates.
Onslaught, previously a PlayStation-exclusive mode, is a waved-based Zombies mode taking place on multiplayer maps. Even after it was made available to everyone with Vanguard’s release, an invisible Zombies glitch was ruining it for many. The issue wasn’t mentioned in Treyarch’s April 14 blog post but a dev confirmed a fix is on the way.
Onslaught’s invisible Zombie glitch is as bad as it sounds. One invisible Zombie will be left over after all the other Zombies are dead, and will be capable of taking you down if you stand still for too long or get caught out.
The bug has been around since the game was released, and players have been begging for a fix. While it didn’t arrive during Cold War’s seasons, players will soon be able to play without worrying about getting stealth attacked by an invisible Zombie.
A Cold War Zombies fan asked Treyarch’s Associate Design Director Kevin Drew if they have any updates for Onslaught’s invisible Zombies bug. Another dev, Andrew Hoyt, replied, confirming: “This update should have the fix for onslaught.” The update should arrive alongside April 27’s Season 3, but he also asked players to let them know if it isn’t fixed.
This won’t be the only Onslaught change, as the devs confirmed they’re introducing several LTMs for the mode. Onslaught Mystery Munitions arrives first, giving players random weapons after each Surge. Onslaught Accelerated, Onslaught Diminishing Light, and Onslaught Elite arrive later, each bringing a Weapon Blueprint challenge to complete.
Vanguard Zombies will also finally recieve a round-based map, starting with a Shi No Numa reimagining in Season 4.

Treyarch confirm Jungle map remaster & new weapon arriving in Black Ops Cold War
Black Ops Cold War devs Treyarch have confirmed a new long-range weapon and Jungle map remaster coming soon.
Treyarch have confirmed brand-new content is on the way for Black Ops Cold War, including a new weapon and remastered version of the classic Jungle map.
While Black Ops Cold War’s seasons have ended, the Call of Duty title received additional content through an update in March, including the arrival of the WMD map and the Vargo 52 Assault Rifle.
Now, Treyarch have announced more new additions that they have planned for Black Ops Cold War in 2022, including a long-range weapon and a resmastered version a classic Call of Duty map.
Treyarch confirmed their plans for brand-new Call of Duty content in a blog post on April 14, including the addition of the classic map Jungle to Black Ops Cold War in 2022.
When this map first made its debut, it consisted of a ruined village and military base near a river in the middle of a Vietnamese jungle. Players could take advantage of its many slopes and ladders to move quickly between levels.
Jungle won over players with its impressive layout and was added to other CoD titles like Black Ops III and Black Ops 4. Now, a remastered version will be added to Cold War’s standard 6v6 playlists in a new update.
Treyarch also teased the arrival of an “all-new ranged weapon” that players will be able to use in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. At the time of writing, there isn’t much more information available about it.
Adding new weapons often shakes up the meta of CoD titles, so we can expect major changes when this new content drop arrives. Treyarch teased that this update will arrive in the “not-too-distant future.”
