Valorant Episode 6 Act 2 is on the way and as players eagerly await the update’s arrival, it will also mark the introduction of a brand-new Agent. Valorant’s Agent 22, otherwise known as Gekko will soon shake up the game.
When a new Agent arrives, it’s standard for curious players to flock to the new addition. Gekko will be no different as the Episode 6 Act 2 update makes its way to Valorant.
However, instead of learning Gekko’s abilities on the fly, we’ve put together a guide that will get you ready for your very first fight as the Initiator.
Valorant Agent Gekko release window
Valorant’s Gekko is set to arrive with the initial Episode 6 Act 2 update. Based on the current Battle Pass expiry date, players are expecting the update, and thus Gekko, to arrive on March 7, 2023.
We’ll keep you up to date with everything you need to know about the update once it arrives, but it’s safe to say that players are eager to test the new Agent.
All Gekko abilities in Valorant explained
Valorant’s upcoming Agent 22 called Gekko will occupy the Initiator role. This means Gekko’s playstyle will be similar to the likes of KAY/O, Sova, Skye, Breach, and Fade.
Gekko’s utility is off the charts, and those who utilize all the tools at his disposal will have no problem influencing rounds.
Let’s take a look at each of Gekko’s four creatures that are tied to his abilities in Valorant.
Dizzy (E)
Gekko’s Dizzy will operate as a flash ability in Valorant. You’ll be able to fire this creature into the air in the hopes of blinding enemies with its plasma blasts.
Interestingly enough, Dizzy can be used multiple times in a round, but the player will have to pick Dizzy up physically with Gekko to be used once more. You’ll be able to bounce Dizzy off surfaces for some strategic lineups.
Wingman (Q)
Wingman is at the core of Gekko’s box of tools, and it’s arguably the cutest of his creatures. Unlike Dizzy who is deployed through the air, Wingman will travel across the ground in the hopes of providing an enemy with a concussive blast.
In a similar fashion to Raze’s boom bot, Wingman will concuss enemies that it sees. However, Wingman also provides the unique ability to be able to plant and defuse the spike for Gekko. If activated, Wingman will be able to defuse the spike even if Gekko dies during the round.
More importantly, Gekko can still move around and perform other actions like covering a line of sight while Wingman defuses the spike.
Mosh Pit (C)
The Mosh Pit ability will act as a grenade for Gekko’s repertoire in Valorant. When it comes to throwing Mosh, think of KillJoy’s Nanoswarm which you can deploy at long-range or short-range with an underhanded throw.
Once the Mosh Pit ability lands and hits a surface, it’ll spread out and duplicate a green substance that will explode within that area after a short delay.
Thrash (X)
As Gekko’s ultimate ability, Thrash will take enemy players by surprise. You’ll have to control Gekko’s creature and as you move it around and look for enemies, Thrash will be ready to dish out damage.
Once you take sight of your target the ability will culminate in a lunge that detains players. While using Thrash will leave you vulnerable, its two-pronged attack provides information and detains enemies leaving them helpless.
Ultimately, Gekko projects to be a solid Initiator that will excel in clearing space on sites.
While this overview should get you ready to play Gekko, there’s no telling what kind of impact he’ll have on Valorant matches. As players test out the new Agent, we’ll get a better idea of his place on the roster.
