Valorant is among the most popular games on the planet and its player count has grown steadily over the years. But just how many people are playing the tactical hero shooter?

When Riot announce a new Agent or map, the hype within the community grows, causing the player count to skyrocket. Here’s everything you need to know about the numbers in August 2024.

Valorant player count this month

Valorant averaged 25,918,864 players in the last 30 days as of August 7, 2024, according to ActivePlayer.io. The platform also shows that over 6.99 million players launched Valorant every day in the last 30 days. This makes the period between July and August one of the most successful in its history.

Keep in mind that these stats are from a third-party website and are just an estimate, so take these numbers with a pinch of salt. Do note that these numbers reflect the stats of all Valorant players on PC and do not include the player count for the Valorant Console Beta.

As of July 26, the Console Beta test opened to all players without needing a code. Given its accessibility, the player count for Valorant on console has likely increased greatly in August. At this moment, we cannot provide an estimate of how many players there are. But if the stats become available we’ll be sure to let you know.

Peak player count

Valorant averaged 25,479,059 players in August 2023, making it the best month for the title. These monthly stats coincided with the release of the Sunset map on August 29, 2023. January 2024 was also a good month for Valorant as it averaged 25,438,207 players during this period.

The player count for the last 30 days as of August 7 is looking healthy, but it’s too early to tell if the final August 2024 player count will set a new peak record for the title.

The recent 9.02 update was a minor one and likely didn’t have a huge impact on the player count. Keep an eye out for the next map pool rotation expected in the 9.08 update, as it could alter the numbers above.
