Valorant pros predict Iso’s place in the current Agent meta
Riot GamesRiot Games will be adding a new Valorant Agent starting on October 31, 2023, and this is what Valorant pros have to say about Iso’s place in the current double-controller’s meta. Here’s what they predicted for Iso, the new Valorant Agent.
The Valorant community was quite surprised by Iso, and they’ve expressed their thoughts primarily about the skill set and the bulletproof skills that this new Agent offers. However, beyond criticizing or supporting Iso’s abilities, pro players have also shared their opinions, mainly based on the role of this new Agent.
As explained by the developers, Iso is a Duelist, and the abilities and skills they have for winning 1v1 or 1v2 engagements are very useful. But professional players don’t seem to find Iso that useful in the current Valorant’s Agent meta.
What place would Iso have in the current Valorant’s Agent Meta?
The first to speak out was Sentinels Head Coach Adam Kaplan, who quickly compared Iso to other Valorant Duelists in the meta mentioning that they “have the ability to dive out of chokes,” while Iso lacks mobility.
Additionally, Kaplan mentioned that he finds it very difficult for Iso to fit into the current meta, where professional teams try out double Controllers. He concludes by saying that he doesn’t see Iso earning a spot in the current compositions unless “the next balance patch hits agents we aren’t expecting to get hit.”
Version 1’s In-Game Leader Melanie “meL” Capone also agreed with this opinion and mentioned that she believes that Iso will face the same fate as Deadlock, which was left behind in current compositions in Valorant’s competitive scenes.
She also delved further into the comparisons, stating that there are better options among Duelists like Raze and Jett, citing their mobility and utilities. She concluded her post by mentioning that Iso’s only room for development is on maps like Ascent and Breeze, where some compositions require a Duelist like Reyna. However, many pro players, including meL, prefer to go with a KAY/O instead.
Many players wonder if Riot Games will change the current meta in future patches, so new Agents have a chance to shine. For now, the community will welcome Iso on October 31 and will have the opportunity to try out every detail of this new Agent. Then, it will become clear whether a composition can be built in which Iso can take center stage.
