Who is Vyse in Valorant? Release date & Abilities
Riot GamesRiot add new Valorant Agents from time to time to keep the experience fresh and introduce new abilities. The last Agent to join the roster was Clove in Episode 8 Act 2, and the devs have now confirmed the arrival of a new character named Vyse.
Here’s everything you need to know about Vyse, the newest Valorant Agent.
Who is Vyse in Valorant?
Vyse is a brand-new Valorant Agent, who plays the role of a Sentinel. The metallic mastermind uses liquid metal to isolate her enemies and disrupt the flow of rounds. Her abilities are focused on punishing aggressive players who enter sites recklessly and exploiting the lack of coordination in the opposing team.
Vyse release date
Vyse will be released on August 28, 2024, as part of Valorant Episode 9 Act 2.
To unlock the Agent, you’ll need to spend 1,000 Valorant Points or complete the Agent Recruitment event which runs for 28 days. After the event is over, you’ll have the option to purchase Vyse using 8,000 Kingdom Credits.
Valorant – Vyse abilities explained
Arc Rose (E)
Press E to equip an Arc Rose and target a surface to place it. The Arc Rose will be invisible to enemies and can be triggered to blind all players looking at it. Vyse can also pick up the Arc Rose to redeploy it elsewhere.
The ability will come in handy during both offensive and defensive situations. Placing it strategically could catch the enemy team off-guard and make them re-think rushing the site. During the attacking phase, the Arc Rose can function as a standard blind while entering the site.
Shear (Q)
Press Q to equip filaments of liquid metal and fire to place a hidden wall trap. When an enemy crosses it, an indestructible wall will pop up from the ground behind them. The ability helps Vyse punish aggressive players by isolating them from the rest of their team and blocking their escape route. In most cases, the trapped player will be forced into a gunfight.
Razorvine (C)
Press C to equip a nest of liquid metal and fire to launch. After landing on the ground, the nest becomes invisible. When triggered, the nest sprawls out into a razorvine which slows and damages all players who move through it. The ability can force enemies to turn back and rethink their approach, or stall them as you make your move.
Steel Garden (ULT)
Steel Garden is Vyse’s Ultimate. Triggering it will unleash a torrent of metal thorns that jam the primary weapons of all enemies caught in the area of effect. After a brief wind-up, players caught in the Steel Garden will be unable to use their main weapons, forcing them to switch to their secondaries.
The ULT can turn a round on its head by compromising the opposition’s ability to defend itself. It’ll be especially useful during post-plan scenarios, as Vyse can strategically trigger it as enemies approach the spike.
While you wait for Vyse to arrive in Valorant, make sure to check out the ongoing Night Market and the upcoming map rotation.
