Vanguard weapons such as the STG44 and Type 100 quickly made waves thanks to their two-shot potential, but the Sledgehammer Games have now nerfed the Vital and Larger Calibre rounds combination.

Shipment has finally arrived in Call of Duty: Vanguard, offering relentless chaos and the perfect place to level up weapons for the Warzone integration and Atomic Camo grind. However, players were hoping for significant weapon balance updates as Shotguns have been dominating the smaller maps.

While Sledgehammer didn’t release a full weapon tuning pass, weapons such as the STG44 and Type 11 have had their two-shot potential nerfed.

The STG44 and Type 100 have been labeled two of the most powerful weapons in the game thanks to the combination of the Vital Proficiency and Larger Calibre rounds. Combined, these weapons could two-shot players in the chest, giving them an exceptionally low time to kill.

Call of Duty YouTuber TheXclusiveAce revealed that the multiplier was actually bugged, and the combination was dealing significantly more damage than it should’ve been. However, Sledgehammer Games updated their patch notes to reveal a fix has been deployed.

Shipment arrived on November 17 alongside patch notes that addressed some small issues such as bugged camos and crashes. Sledgehammer Games also updated the November 16 patch notes, revealing they “Nerfed the Vital + Cal Up combination.”

“Cal Up” is their way of saying Large Calibre rounds, such as the Russian Short Mags for the STG. Now, the STG44 and Type 100 can no longer two-shot players in the chest, making the weapons much more balanced.

However, they still maintain every other aspect such as recoil control and fire rate, so will still remain as two of the most powerful weapons in the game.

The devs have already promised a fix for the overpowered Shotguns, so we expect a significant weapon tuning update in the coming weeks, perhaps in the Season 1 update.
