Vanguard players call for return of classic Call of Duty feature
Call of Duty: Vanguard does not have a map voting feature like in most CoD titles and fans of the new game are pleading with Sledgehammer Games to add it in.
Map voting comes with pros and cons in online multiplayer as it allows players to handpick their favorite maps, but at the same time, it usually means that unpopular selections end up not receiving as much love.
In Call of Duty: Vanguard, the feature appears to have been left out of the final release, leading to some complaints from the fans. They feel it’s an important map of the pre-game process and needs to be added in at some point.
The source of the complaint is from a post on the Vanguard subreddit saying: “SHG please, we need map voting in all game modes, playlist, etc. Because it’s frustrating not having the opportunity to choose something like in COD WWII.”
Panthersfan 891 said: “Can’t believe they again took map voting out. Disappointing,” and it’s clear that some players yearn for the feature’s return.
Conversely, a few players also aired positive thoughts on the change, explaining that Black Ops Cold War games ended up being the same few maps.
“To be honest I’m kind of happy it’s gone. I like the variety that a random selector map brings,” said one user, whereas someone else said that map voting “was the worst part about CW for me.”
With so many maps already at launch, and presumably a lot more on the way, it seems like this could be a deliberate move by SHG to ensure their hard work is enjoyed as equally as possible.
