As Modern Warfare 2 draws closer, CoD players have revealed the Vanguard features they don’t want to see in 2022’s multiplayer.

Without reinventing the wheel, Vanguard brought some major gameplay changes to Call of Duty. However, not all of them have been looked upon favorably, and players have revealed the Vanguard features they don’t want to see in Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been confirmed for 2022, likely continuing Task Force 141’s story. But as with every CoD game, its multiplayer is at the forefront of players’ minds. While Vanguard introduced several new features and mechanics, not all of them have gone down well with the community.

With Modern Warfare 2 releasing later this year, players discussed the “annoying” Vanguard features they don’t want to see return in CoD 2022.

‘ettlinger77’ kicked off the discussion on Vanguard’s subreddit, asking players: “What’s the most annoying thing about vanguard you hope they don’t repeat in future titles?”

The OP said their ‘pet hate’ for Vanguard is “player collision in doorways/tight areas.” They bemoaned the times when they were killed when getting caught on another player, and also brought up how “windows are a nightmare to get through most times.”

Players joined the comment section to reveal the Vanguard mechanics they hope are left out of 2022’s Modern Warfare 2.

70 weapon levels on Vanguard guns

One of the main features that Vanguard players don’t want to see return in Modern Warfare 2 is “70 weapon levels.” Each Vanguard weapon has 70 weapon levels to climb, and players complained that it’s “so tedious trying to level a gun up to 70 without double xp.”

However, with reports that Modern Warfare 2 will have two years worth of content, players are worried that the weapon grind will be even longer. “MW having two years doesn’t make it as bad, but ugh 60-70 levels is still just an unnecessary grind,” said ‘bicyclebread.’

Players said they wouldn’t mind the same amount of attachments, but would rather unlock several per level.

No factions in Vanguard multiplayer

Even before Vanguard was released, the community was split on the decision to have no factions and instead, have the Allies duking it out against each other.

As ‘EvilLittle’ explains, it makes “perfect sense” that factions were ditched for Vanguard. The new business model is all about selling skins for different Operators, and they “don’t want to sell Wehrmacht operator skins.”

While the decision does make sense, players find it “ridiculous when 6 people in a lobby have the same skin and half are on my side, half on the other.” This only gets worse in Hardcore, where you can accidentally kill your teammates if two players on opposite teams have the same skin.

Vanguard’s MVP screen

One of the most heavily criticized Vanguard features is the new MVP screen, and players hope it doesn’t make its way to Modern Warfare 2.

A poll revealed that 75% of Vanguard players want the MVP screen removed as they’re completely fed up with having to watch three animations and then vote for the best player. ‘three-sense’ said “We’ve all spent hours blankly staring at a voting screen at this point,” and they don’t want to see it again in Modern Warfare 2.

There’s no way of knowing what mechanics or features Infinity Ward have planned for Modern Warfare 2, but stay tuned to Charlie INTEL for all of the future updates.

Modern Warfare 2 leak claims fan-favorite maps won’t arrive at launch

Modern Warfare 2 is expected to bring fan-favorite maps such as Terminal and Highrise, but they might not be there at launch.

Favela map in Modern warfare 2

It’s been widely leaked that fan-favorite maps such as Favela, Terminal, and Highrise will arrive in Modern Warfare 2, but a report from Tom Henderson claims that we might not see these classic maps at launch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to release this year but apart from leaks and rumors, we know very little about it. The campaign is said to bring players to Central America to battle Colombian drug cartels, and there’s also supposed to be an Escape from Tarkov-inspired DMZ extraction mode.

But if the logo’s green color is any indication, it’s also set to celebrate 2009’s original Modern Warfare 2. Warzone 2‘s map will reportedly feature classic locations and leakers have also claimed that they’ll be present in multiplayer, too. However, insider Tom Henderson’s latest report advises players to temper their expectations.

The original Modern Warfare 2 features some of the most popular maps in the franchise’s history, with players still reminiscing about Favela, Terminal, Highrise, and Quarry. Leakers RalphsValve and Henderson claimed that these classic maps will return in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer.

While leaking even more about Warzone 2 in his latest report, including an interrogation system and more information on Pro Perks, Henderson explained that even though these maps are set to arrive in Warzone 2, “it doesn’t necessarily mean they are coming to the premium title as 6v6 maps, at least on launch.”

With Modern Warfare 2 expected to be supported for two years without a new CoD game in 2023, that means there should be around twelve seasons of content. “It is possible that we’ll get to see all these maps over the two years, but not necessarily on launch,” he explained.

However, if these recent reports are to be believed, we will get to see these classic maps in both Warzone 2 and the DMZ which reportedly share a Blackout-like map.

Leaked Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mode: Tarkov-inspired gameplay, map, more

CoD leakers claim a third ‘DMZ’ mode will arrive as part of Modern Warfare 2, so here’s everything we know about it.

Although not officially confirmed, there have been a ton of leaks surrounding Modern Warfare 2 featuring a third mode called the ‘DMZ.’ This is set to be an Escape from Tarkov-inspired extraction game, so here’s everything we know about the leaked mode so far.

Traditionally, a Call of Duty game comes with three modes – campaign, multiplayer, and Zombies/Spec Ops. Warzone 2 is confirmed to be in development alongside MW2, and according to leakers, Modern Warfare 2‘s third mode will be called the ‘DMZ.’

A ton of leaks and rumors surround the DMZ but with nothing officially confirmed, we recommend taking this information with a pinch of salt. Here’s everything that’s been leaked so far, including how the DMZ mode works, its expected release date, map, and marketplace.

What is Modern Warfare 2’s leaked DMZ mode?

Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ is set to be an Escape from Tarkov-themed extraction style game mode. This is where players load into the map and must battle both other players and AI before extracting loot which can be used again or sold.

It’s still unclear whether DMZ (demilitarized zone) will be the official name or is just an internal name. The mode has reportedly been in development since late 2018, and Henderson quoted an anonymous dev, who said: “This has been built from the ground up with the mode in mind, it’s not just an afterthought.”

In Escape from Tarkov, anything you take into the raid will be lost if you die, meaning taking high-tier loot comes with a high risk/reward, and DMZ will reportedly have the same mechanic.

Does Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ have a release date?

According to leaker TheGhostOfHope, the DMZ is set to arrive with Modern Warfare 2’s launch but will arrive in beta.

Hope quoted their source, who explained: “Something like the DMZ doesn’t become final until the general public has gotten hands on it. It’s a large mode that needs maintenance.”

Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, but you can expect it to release in fall 2022.

Leaked Modern Warfare 2 DMZ map

Tom Henderson believes Warzone 2 and DMZ will share a map, but other leakers TheGhostOfHope and RalphsValve claim it will have several.

Tom Henderson has long believed that the DMZ will share its map with Warzone 2, which is reportedly set in Central America and will feature classic MW2 maps such as Highrise, Quarry, and Terminal.

Henderson claims a source sent them an image of the DMZ map, and they were able to verify that it was indeed DMZ. “Now nearly six months on, a newly acquired source has sent me the Warzone 2 map, which is identical to the DMZ map,” he explained in his eXputer report.

Then, leaker TheMW2Ghost tweeted a recreation of what they claim to be both Warzone 2 and the DMZs map.

However, TheGhostOfHope and RalphsValve have claimed since November that there will be multiple DMZ maps. Hope appears adamant that there will be around four but without DMZ being official, there’s no way of knowing for sure.

DMZ mode reportedly brings marketplace with tradeable items

According to the GhostOfHope, Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ mode will bring a marketplace where “items can be bought and traded.” This sounds similar to Escape from Tarkov, where players can buy, sell, and trade their loot with other players.

In the same leak, Hope claimed that “You are able to earn skins, blueprints and more from ‘DMZ’ that are usable across Multiplayer and eventually Warzone 2.” They don’t believe you’ll be able to trade Blueprints, though.

Of course, neither Activision nor Infinity Ward have confirmed that the DMZ mode is in development, so take this all with a heavy pinch of salt.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are still months out, so you can check out everything we know about Warzone Season 3 Reloaded and Season 4 in the meantime.

Modern Warfare 2 leak reveals Warzone 2 & DMZ map

A new Modern Warfare 2 leak claims to show off the brand-new map that will feature in both Warzone 2 and the Tarkov-inspired DMZ.

Call of Duty leaker TheMW2Ghost claims to have recreated Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2’s ‘DMZ’ map, showing its general layout.

A ton of leaks and rumors surrounding Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have dropped over the past couple of days detailing Warzone 2’s new mechanics, the classic Modern Warfare 2 maps arriving as POIs, and the DMZ’s marketplace with tradeable items.

Now, leaker TheMW2Ghost has shown off what they claim to be the general layout of the map that will reportedly be shared between both Warzone 2 and the Escape from Tarkov-inspired DMZ.

Rather than showing off what they claim to be the DMZ and Warzone 2’s map, TheMW2Ghost has drawn a “remake based off of the actual map image,” so it isn’t the official artwork.

The map doesn’t give a ton of detail, but it shows what appears to be roads or train tracks passing through the map. Also, there’s a large river cutting through the middle of the map, with a lake on the eastern side.

There are a few icons on the map, but we’re not sure what they mean. The locks could indicate the Strongholds that both YouTuber NerosCinema and Henderson claim will allow players to get their loadouts, but there’s no guarantee.

Previous leaks have indicated that this map will be based in Central America, taking inspiration from Medellín, Colombia, but the recreation doesn’t confirm this one way or the other.

Of course, this is just a leak for now so there’s no guarantee that this is what Warzone 2 and the DMZ’s map will look like. We expect to hear more from Activision and Infinity Ward later this year, so stay tuned.
