Vanguard WWII Warzone map locations reportedly revealed by CoD leaker
A data miner has discovered the potential locations for Call of Duty: Vanguard’s WWII-themed Warzone map, which is set to arrive with the game’s launch later in 2021.
Call of Duty is set to return to the Second World War with ‘Vanguard,’ helmed by Sledgehammer Games. Not much is known about 2021’s entry to the franchise, but a recent report from VGC claimed that Activision plan on releasing a brand-new WWII-themed Warzone map along with Vanguard’s release.
VGC’s report said that Sledgehammer Games will be better prepared for a Warzone integration than Treyarch, and will be bringing a “massive WWII” revamp set in the Pacific, with the game’s “largest new map” yet.
Following the leak that the new map will be “Firestorm with more players,” the potential locations for the new map have also been revealed.
Call of Duty dataminer and leaker Nanikos shared Vanguard’s locations from the game files, crediting another dataminer ‘Glitchy’ for finding them after the Season 4 update.
Here are the potential WWII Warzone map locations:
- Resort
- Capital
- Radio Station
- Subpen
- Farms
- Airfield
- Lagoon
- Beach Head
- Caldera
- Mines
- Village
- Airstrip
- Docks
- Arsenal
A few of these locations will sound familiar to Call of Duty fans. Some refer directly to classic Call of Duty maps, such as Airfield from World at War, but it’s too early to speculate on what these locations could look like.
The ‘Subpen’ location appears to confirm its WWII setting, however. A subpen, short for submarine pen, is a bunker used to protect submarines from air attacks and was often used during the Second World War.
Neither Activision nor Sledgehammer Games have commented on this new Warzone map, the only information we have is VGC’s report and this new leak. Of course, the Ural Mountains Warzone map was widely believed to be coming instead of Verdansk ’84, so take all of these leaks with a pinch of salt.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to be revealed later in the year, so stay tuned to Charlie INTEL for all CoD 2021 updates.
