Treyarch returned to develop the Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Vanguard, continuing the Dark Aether storyline. Easter Eggs are one of Zombies’ most popular aspects, so does Der Anfang have a hidden Main Quest?

Vanguard players have been disappointed with Treyarch’s latest WW2 Zombies experience, blasting its lack of traditional features. However, it still offers the Zombie-slaying action that players have come to expect, and is a great place to level up weapons ahead of Warzone Pacific’s Caldera.

All of Black Ops Cold War’s maps, such as Firebase Z and Forsaken, had a complicated Easter Egg to complete, so players are wondering if Der Anfang includes a Main Quest.

Here’s everything we know about Vanguard Zombies’ Der Anfang Main Quest Easter Egg.

At the time of writing, Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies does not have a Main Quest or Easter Egg to complete.

So although you can slay Zombies to your heart’s content, there aren’t any ulterior missions or objectives to complete. However, Treyarch have confirmed that a Main Quest will arrive.

In a blog post detailing Vanguard Zombies, Treyarch teased that the Main Quest would begin in Season 1, but will be released in stages.

Treyarch revealed that when Season 1 launches, “new Zombies content & features will begin to roll out in Vanguard, including a new Objective, additional Covenants, new weapons, Zombies Season Challenges, holiday-themed updates, and more.”

They continued, “Players will also encounter some other surprise elements later in Season One that will set the stage for our upcoming Main Quest.”

“This Main Quest will be tied to the arrival of an unexpected ally after Season One,” Treyarch concluded. “Which will further expand the narrative of the Dark Aether, and reveal more details about the characters and entities that players will have encountered thus far.”

Treyarch have been playing their cards close to their chest so far, without a clear explanation of exactly what will be arriving and when.

However, in Warzone’s Caldera map reveal, the developers said players can soon “expect to learn about the two free functional weapons, new Operator, Zombies content, Multiplayer modes, and two maps all coming on December 8.” So, we’re likely to know more about Vanguard Zombies’ next stage in the coming days.

Warzone’s frustrating demon gun glitch is back in Vanguard

Vanguard weapon camos are being plagued by the infamous demon gun glitch which fills the screen with ruined textures.

Demon Gun Glitch in Vanguard

The demon gun glitch is one the most infamous bugs in Warzone and now reports are coming in of it ruining the textures of weapon camos in Call of Duty Vanguard again.

Warzone Pacific players have had to repeatedly deal with the frustrating demon gun glitch that blocks their screens with distorted textures, making it impossible for them to accurately aim their weapons.

This glitch has popped up at complete random numerous times and is now causing problems in CoD Vanguard again, as players are reporting the textures on their weapon camos being reduced to polygons.

Reddit user ‘EPURON’ encountered this glitch when using a weapon camo that was part of the Godzilla vs King Kong event. They then shared a clip showcasing this in the Vanguard subreddit.

Throughout the clip, the textures on the weapon camo were glitching, and the Redditor was unable to see anything through the optic when aiming down sights. They described the glitch as “polygon madness.”

While the textures looked bad when aiming down sights, they looked even worse in the killcam that played after the player was taken out. At that point, the entire screen was blocked by the glitch.

EPURON explained in the comments that this is their first time encountering the Demon Gun Glitch, and others brought up the times they had to deal with it back when Vanguard first launched.

This glitch has become infamous among Warzone Pacific and Vanguard players since it pops up repeatedly to cause mayhem on their screens and still hasn’t been removed for good after multiple update patches.

Sledgehammer Games have provided a Vanguard update on August 11 that patched a weapon attachment exploit and fixed a Dev Error bug in Season 4 Reloaded.

Vanguard devs Sledgehammer Games continue to update the game and provide players with fresh content. In addition to a playlist update arriving on August 11, players were also treated to a new update that provided a fix to several of the game’s latest bugs.

The update covers both multiplayer and zombies game modes as certain bugs were hampering the fun. A particularly annoying Dev Error should no longer plague players following the August 11 Vanguard update.

Vanguard Season 4 Reloaded

Vanguard Season 5 is fast approaching, but before we get a brand-new season of content with new weapons, maps, and Operators, Sledgehammer are dedicated to fixing current issues.

It seems an unintended exploit was allowing players to combine attachments from other weapons to achieve combinations that should not be possible. This would result in overpowered weapons running amok and the devs were quick to nerf the issue.

In addition, players will no longer have to deal with DEV ERROR 10308 that occurred on the USS Texas map.

Activision apologize for using artist’s design in now canceled Vanguard & Warzone skin

Activision have scrapped an unreleased Warzone and Vanguard skin after using an artist’s work without permission.

Vanguard and Warzone Season 4 Reloaded skins

Activision admitted to the major misstep of using an artist’s work without permission. The original art was to feature in an upcoming Vanguard and Warzone skin that has since been axed.

Major content drops like new seasons or midseason updates deliver weapons, maps, and changes to Call of Duty games, but they also tend to bring brand-new skins to enjoy. Vanguard and Warzone have seen some noteworthy skins that certainly got players talking.

After all, who could forget the Armored Titan, or Godzilla and King Kong skins? At the start of Season 4 Reloaded, players also received a new Terminator crossover. However, teasers for Season 4 Reloaded also hinted at a mysterious wolf-like skin.

After the wolf skin was teased in an official Call of Duty blog post, it was later inexplicably removed and replaced from the very same post. It turns out, Activision used content that did not belong to them in order to create the aforementioned skin.

When the wolf skin was first teased, it certainly generated a ton of buzz, or rather raised a ton of eyebrows. The anthropomorphic Operator definitely sticks out in a WWII-era Call of Duty game. Nonetheless, fans were excited at the prospect of running around as a wolf in Warzone.

Unfortunately, that idea won’t come to fruition as Activision have confirmed that they completely removed the skin from their planned content drop for Season 4 Reloaded.

It seems Activision overstepping bounds is the reason behind the skin’s cancelation.

An artist claimed that the wolf skin, also known as Samoyed skin, was stolen without their permission. In a strange turn of events, Activision has issued an apology, seemingly confirming the artist’s claims.

In a statement, Activision admitted that they “regrettably erred in our process and have removed this imagery from the game,” apologizing for the misstep.

While fans may be disappointed to lose their chance at slaying in a furry wolf skin, most would agree that if the artist’s claims are legitimate, the greater injustice was corrected as nobody should have their work stolen without credit.
