Viral TiKTok shows Warzone's Ghost perk is broken

It appears that there’s a major issue with Warzone’s Ghost Perk after a viral TikTok from streamer Jessie Cooks showcased the Perk failing in a Twitch Rivals event.

Over Warzone’s life, it’s suffered from a host of bugs and issues. Not only are there cheaters, but the invisibility glitch returned several times and players even found a way to enter the Gulag and kill its combatants. Now, it appears the Ghost Perk doesn’t always work.

Ghost is one of Warzone’s few meta perks. It completely hides you from UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors, which is vital to winning a game of Warzone. However, there is recent evidence that the Ghost Perk can fail, still showing you on a UAV.

While the Ghost Perk is supposed to completely hide you from UAVs, a clip from Warzone streamer Jessie Cooks appears to prove that this isn’t always the case. While playing in a Twitch Rivals Custom Lobby, they equipped Ghost, yet were still hunted down after appearing on an opposing team’s UAV.

“We died to Huskerrs, JoeWo and Mutex in Twitch Rivals [because] ghost doesn’t work,” Jessie shared on July 28 alongside a TikTok which provided the evidence.

In the video, Jessie Cooks and her team all grabbed their loadouts, clearly equipping the Ghost Perk. About a minute later, HusKerr’s team popped a UAV and could clearly see Jessie’s team on it. After hunting them down, JoeWoe made quick work of her by using the UAV’s information to throw a perfectly placed stun.

This TikTok went viral, catching the attention of analytical Warzone YouTuber JGOD, who said that “it makes no sense.” After watching all POVs and agreeing that Ghost should have worked, he suggested that it’s “likely a private match bug.”

A small streamer, Fabes_O, replied to JGOD with evidence that it “happens in pubs too.” They uploaded a clip showing the UAV sweep the Bounty circle but no red dots appeared. But as they approached, the team suddenly showed up on the minimap. Fabes_O was eliminated by them, and the killcam proved that the player did indeed have Ghost.

Raven Software hasn’t acknowledged this bug yet, but it’s gained enough traction online that it’s likely to be on their radar.
