While HUDs are meant to relay important information, players feel that the one in Warzone 2.0 is a downgrade and are calling for major changes ahead of the sequel’s release.

When you hop into a game of Warzone, you can take a look at the HUD (Heads Up Display) that displays important in-game information on your screen, including the minimap and player count.

This is an extremely important gameplay element and Warzone 2 will feature one as well. However, the Call of Duty community is not impressed by the HUD shown in the gameplay reveal and wants the developers to change it.

Reddit user ‘Wedclark’ shared an image comparing the Warzone 2 HUD to the one that’s currently in the first game. They then described the one from the sequel as a “massive downgrade.”

The HUD from the first Warzone has more logos and details displayed whereas the one in Warzone 2 mainly shows the players’ names and numbers along with a cash amount. This minimal design has led to it being criticized in the thread.

One user described it as “exactly the same as WZ1’s original teammate UI.” They then added that Warzone’s current HUD is “an upgrade in every way” and called for the Warzone 2 devs to take inspiration from it.

While many of the commenters expressed their disappointment with how the HUD currently looks, others were quick to point out that the image is from an alpha build that was showcased at the Cod Next event.

As a result, it’s possible that the developers could change it before the final release. Another player brought up the fact that Warzone’s HUD also went through numerous changes before reaching its current state.

They wrote: “Warzone HUD was reworked several times, it will change. The game isn’t even out yet, stop whining.” Since the final game often has major differences from early builds, it’s possible that the developers can change the HUD.

At the time of writing, the developers haven’t responded to the complaints about the HUD, and it remains to be seen whether or not it will go through changes before its release. They could also alter it after the sequel is out like in the first Warzone.
