Warzone 2 hackers can now knife you from across the map
Warzone 2 hackers have the ability to ruin the game in many weird and wonderful ways, but cheaters have come up with one of the most game-breaking yet, knifing players from across the map.
Before Activision brought their RICOCHET anti-cheat to Call of Duty, hackers wreaked havoc in Warzone lobbies, bouncing bullets off walls, creating their own skins, and climbing up walls like Spider-Man.
Warzone 2 has been relatively cheat-free despite some flying boats and invincibility, but the latest hack spotted in Al Mazrah is one of the most game-breaking yet. It appears these hackers melee you from across the map, catching you completely unaware and defenseless.
Melee has almost always been a controversial topic in Warzone, with players bemoaning the two-hit melee system that can often kill faster than an automatic weapon. But melee has just got even more deadly, with Warzone 2 hackers battering opponents from a seemingly infinite range.
Reddit user AndrewEffteeyay was casually looting the Marshlands area when all of a sudden they were cut to pieces with a knife. Although the audio made it sound as though the attacker was in the room with them, the killcam showed that they were actually in Taraq Village extremely far away.
All the hacker had to do was shoot a few shots into the sky and then knife the air, and damage was dealt to AndrewEffteeyay across the map.
One player in the comments remembered that the original Modern Warfare 2 had a similar hack “where you could knife anybody no matter where they were.” Another called it the ‘classic one Position Kill mod’ which clones your hitbox, allowing the cheaters to kill you despite being nowhere near.
RICOCHET anti-cheat is constantly evolving so if this cheat starts popping up in more matches, then don’t expect it to last long. Cheaters are already getting disarmed and seeing enemies disappear before their eyes, and the devs have said it’ll keep improving over time.
