Warzone 2 leaks reveal Loadout Drop return with major change
The Call of Duty community was split after it appeared Loadout Drops were completely removed from Warzone 2, but new leaks appear to show that Loadout Drops will be in the game with a major change.
Call of Duty: Warzone immediately set itself apart from the other battle royales on the market by bringing the loadout system, allowing players to build their weapons before dropping in, and collecting them through Loadout Drops.
Content creators played Warzone 2 at Call of Duty Next in September, and many were shocked to see that Loadout Drops didn’t exist in the game.
Instead, it appears that players must purchase their Modern Warfare 2 weapons from Buy Stations, equipping them with attachments that have been found or bought.
This change divided the community and following a cryptic leak that Loadout Drops would return, new images appear to show them in Warzone 2. But reputable leaker TheGhostofHope claims there’ll be a change in how they’re acquired.
Images have surfaced online that appear to show Loadout Drops in Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah, showing that players can pick up their two weapons, Tactical Equipment, Lethal Equipment, and Perk Package.
According to TheGhostofHope, these Loadout Drops will only be a “free world drop,” and they “won’t be buyable.” This means that they won’t be available in Buy Stations like Warzone 1, you’ll only be able to pick them up when they drop from the sky at a specific time.
While unsure, Hope thinks that you can still find purchase base weapons and attachments from shops, as well as find these items on the ground.
Leaks also indicated that loadouts could be picked up from Strongholds, AI-ridden areas that contain high-tier loot. Whether that system is still in the game remains to be seen.
We’ll know much more about Warzone 2 ahead of its November 16 launch, as content creators have been invited to try out the new battle royale and DMZ on Wednesday, November 9.
