Warzone 2 players claim audio is even “worse” despite fixes in Season 2 Reloaded
Warzone 2’s audio has been a point of contention for the community, and many players are claiming that it’s still broken even after the changes made in the Season 2 Reloaded update.
Audio settings can greatly impact your chances of securing victory in Warzone 2, as being able to hear enemy footsteps and being aware of your environment gives you an edge during intense matches.
Players have complained about the Call of Duty title’s audio being broken, with popular streamers like Dr Disrespect also being vocal about the issue. While Season 2 Reloaded brought a few fixes, players feel that these aren’t enough.
Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded’s patch notes mention fixes for issues affecting enemy footstep volume and other audio-related problems. However, many in the Warzone 2 subreddit complained about the issues persisting after the update.
Reddit user ‘Moggy_x’ shared a meme that infers that rather than actually fixing the audio, the developers just make false promises that they’ll implement fixes in each update. The comments of this thread were filled with players that agreed with this notion.
One user complained about enemy players “literally sprinting to you and you can’t hear a single footstep.” Another brought up that an enemy was able to parachute right on top of them and there was “not a peep.”
The sentiment in the thread was that the audio in Warzone 2 is currently “garbage,” and in dire need of improvements. One of the commenters stated: “I literally don’t hear any footsteps anymore. Somehow it got even worse.”
This was not the only thread dedicated to complaints about the audio as Reddit user ‘onedestiny’ claimed that there is “absolutely no sprint sound half the time” in Warzone 2 matches.
The replies were similar in this thread, with one player stating that the audio feels “untouched” in Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded, and another claiming that the developers “can’t or don’t want to fix it.”
Despite these complaints, a few users did state that they noticed improvements. One user commented: “I noticed an audio difference, people are louder. Remember there’s also an audio setting they added you may need to change.”
Even after the changes in Season 2 Reloaded, the audio in Warzone 2 continues to be a point of contention for players. It remains to be seen what other audio changes the developers have planned for the game.
