The Warzone 2 Season 2 update finally introduced the ability to track your stats, but players are calling for regular battle royale and Resurgence leaderboards to be separate, calling the numbers “mean nothing” when lumped together.

Warzone 2 Season 2 is finally here, and it introduced a number of key changes and features that fans had been calling for, including the return of 1v1 Gulags and the new Ashika Island Resurgence map.

The devs also added the Combat Record to Warzone 2, allowing players to check their K/D, number of wins, and playtime in-game, after the feature was absent for the entirety of Season 1.

However, players have criticized Infinity Ward for mixing stats on Al Mazrah and Ashika Island into the same leaderboard, and are calling for the numbers to be separated.

Reddit user ‘masterloud80’ started the debate, claiming that combining regular battle royale and Resurgence stats “means nothing,” as the two modes are incredibly different.

“A win in resurgence is not the same as a win in BR and visa versa and the same goes for the K/D,” said the OP.

Resurgence mode lets players respawn in the early stages of the game, and are generally much faster-paced than the traditional BR. This means someone who only plays on Ashika Island will generally rack up more kills per game, which has a major effect on their K/D.

Others also responded to the post, arguing that a win on either mode is completely different, and shouldn’t be counted in the set of statistics.

“Resurgence is pretty much team deathmatch. A Warzone BR is way more rewarding, it also requires more skill. They should be separated,” said ‘Darpa_Chief.’

It was also pointed out that the Modern Warfare 2 Combat Record provides players with an overall K/D and win rate, but also offers a breakdown of your performance in individual modes like Team Deathmatch or Domination.

This feature was also present in the original Warzone, leaving many players hopeful that it will return in Warzone 2.

“I’m only disappointed in WZ2’s stat tracking because I know for a fact they’re capable of better,” said ‘IncomingZangarang.’

The next major update coming to Warzone 2 is Season 2 Reloaded, so we’ll have to wait and see if the devs listen to the calls and separate the leaderboard going forward.
