Warzone 2 players furious as third-person mode removed after playlist update
Warzone 2 brought the first-ever third-person mode in Call of Duty history, and players are frustrated after learning that it has been removed from the game after a new playlist update.
Season 1 of Warzone 2 brought a wide variety of fun content for players to check out, including the Escape from Tarkov-inspired DMZ mode and the Al Mazrah map which features multiple classic CoD locations.
Another notable addition was the Call of Duty franchise’s first third-person mode that allows you to play Warzone 2 with an over-the-shoulder view. However, players have noticed that the mode is now missing from the game.
On December 8, Raven Software announced that Trios are live in Warzone 2 while also confirming that the third-person mode has been removed from the game as part of the playlist update.
After this update was shared by Reddit user ‘Souivaki’ in the Warzone 2 subreddit, numerous players expressed their disappointment with Raven Software’s decision to get rid of the new mode.
One user in this Reddit thread commented: “Incredibly disappointing that they got rid of third-person altogether, it was the only game mode I really enjoyed and was such a nice change of pace.”
A few other players also stated that it was the only game mode they like to play in Warzone 2, with one of them describing it as a “nice change of gameplay” from the usual first-person shooter style.
Some of the commenters speculated that Raven Software might have removed the third-person mode because very few players were trying it out in multiplayer. One player stated: “Bummer for people who prefer it bet I’d was overwhelmingly the least popular mode.”
Multiple users stated that they would’ve preferred that the developers remove Unhinged Trios from Warzone 2 while leaving the third-person mode in the game. At the time of writing, Raven Software haven’t revealed exactly when the third-person mode will return to Warzone 2.
