Warzone best SMG loadout following Season 2 MP40 nerf
Warzone Season 2 brought along several weapon buffs and nerfs which reduced the effectiveness of the MP40 and Incendiary ammo. Players are now wondering what the best Warzone SMG loadout is and you can find out below.
A new season comes with significant weapon balancing changes and Warzone Season 2’s update has nerfed the fan-favorite MP40. Although the MP40 is still viable, it is no longer the outright best Warzone SMG available.
The MP40 suffered a double nerf as the popular Incendiary ammo attachment also received a hefty nerf. These changes have left players wondering what the next number one SMG could be.
Best Warzone SMG Welgun loadout
- Muzzle: Recoil Booster
- Barrel: 320mm SA Shrouded
- Optic: GW 02
- Stock: Removed Stock
- Underbarrel: Mark VI Skeletal
- Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 40 Round Mags
- Ammo Type: Hollow Point
- Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
- Perk 1: Acrobatic
- Perk 2: Quick
The Welgun is now at the top of Warzone’s SMG rankings and the weapon certainly delivers on speed and damage output. Thanks to an incredible fire rate, you’ll be shredding players in close quarters. This loadout is currently the go-to SMG for several popular Warzone streamers including Aydan.
When paired, the Recoil Booster and 320mm SA Shrouded give this SMG the boost it needs to perform at maximum efficiency up close and personal. Hollow Point ammo will add additional limb damage making the Welgun a devastating weapon.
The Mark VI Skeletal and Removed Stock will get you moving as swiftly as possible. Taking on one enemy after another shouldn’t be an issue with how quick this Welgun is and the 7.62 Gorenko 40 Round Mags will ensure you can wipe your enemies off the map.
Lastly, the Acrobatic and Quick Perks will act as yet another massive boost to movement speed. With both the MP40 and Incendiary ammo receiving nerfs, expect the Welgun to become one of the most used weapons in Warzone Season 2.
