Verdansk’s time in Warzone is coming to a close, and we will soon be heading to the Pacific Island of Caldera. But just how big is Caldera?

At the start of Season 1, we will be saying goodbye to Warzone’s iconic Verdansk map. But just how big is the Warzone Caldera map compared to Verdansk?

Verdansk has been the main map for Call of Duty: Warzone since its release. However, Raven Software announced that Warzone Season 6 would be the end of Verdansk.

Players have been asking for a new map for quite some time, and soon they’ll be heading to the Pacific island of Caldera. With an Activision executive revealing the Caldera map, we can now compare its size to Verdansk.

Warzone Caldera compared to Verdansk

Caldera is a lush mountainous island, so we already know it is going to be very different from Verdansk. The current Warzone map is a modern post-apocalyptic city, while Caldera boasts a rural tropical paradise.

But beyond the green scenery, players want to know how big Caldera actually is. Luckily, Reddit user AyranMen32 did the math and came up with a rough comparison.

After a series of squinting and mathematic gymnastics, AyranMen32 was able to produce the map below. The white outline is Verdansk, and the island is Caldera. As you can see, Caldera is quite a bit larger.

AyranMen32 does admit that this is a rough comparison between Warzone’s Verdansk and Caldera. The calculations were based on the width of each map’s roadways as well as using the scale bar in the bottom right corner.

On further investigation, the Reddit user claims that the size different is not as substantial as first shown above. Here’s an updated version:

A larger number of Caldera’s POIs are placed on the Island’s outskirts. With the island being so large, players are concerned that there might be too much open space.

However, the topography of Caldera could transform this open space into unique unnamed locations. But that will remain unknown until Caldera arrives on December 3rd.

Best H4 Blixen loadout for Warzone Season 4

The Warzone H4 Blixen is a great option in Season 4, especially with our recommended attachments, equipment, and Perks.

Best Warzone H4 Blixen loadout

After being introduced last season, the H4 Blixen remains a strong SMG choice in Warzoen Season 4. To make the most of this devasting new weapon, check out our best H4 Blixen loadout.

Warzone Season 4 is here, and it’s gone through great lengths to shake up the CoD battle royale. Raven have introduced a new Rebirth Island-style map called Fortune’s Keep, and even major Perk changes.

Vanguard weapons have been dominating the new season, and the H4 Blixen is no exception. Despite the new Marco 5 SMG coming in strong, the Blixen definitely still holds its own.

This powerful and accurate SMG could easily challenge the close to mid-range meta, but before you drop straight into the action, check out our best H4 Blixen loadout for Warzone Season 4.

Best Warzone H4 Blixen loadout attachments

Warzone / Vanguard Operator with H4 Blixen
  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: Bergstrom 17″ F3
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Stock: Removed Stock
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 7.62 Gorenko 54 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Perk 1: Perfectionist
  • Perk 2: Quick

We kick off our best H4 Blixen with the Recoil Booster, as the SMG is relatively slow-firing compared to other guns in its class, so this increases the fire rate and lowers the TTK. Then, we went for the Bergstrom 17″ F3 Barrel, m1941 Hand Stop, and Polymer Grip to increase accuracy in mid-range fights.

Next up we opted for the Removed Stock option for a big boost in movement, ADS, and sprint-to-fire speed, all of which are vital at close range. In terms of Optics, we felt a standard Slate Reflector is a solid choice, but this can be switched for whichever sight you are most comfortable with.

7.62 Gorenko 54 Round Mags are a great choice for the H4 Blixen, as the gun’s laser-like accuracy pairs nicely with the attachment’s boost in headshot damage. Loading up with Lengthened ammo also raises the bullet velocity and lowers the TTK even further.

Finally, we recommend Perfectionist for Perk 1, to offer up one last boost in recoil control, and Quick to make you incredibly mobile in tight-nit situations.

Best Warzone H4 Blixen Perks & Equipment

Warzone Opertaor aiming H4 Blixen
  • Perk 1: Double Time
  • Perk 2: Overkill / Tempered
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Stim

Equipping Double Time will increase the duration of Tactical Sprint, allowing you to move across Caldera much faster making rushing enemy teams a breeze.

The H4 Blixen is an ideal Sniper support, so we recommend running Overkill to bring along a HDR or AX-50. Then, for your second option, run Tempered to help you recover to max health quicker after a gunfight.

Finally, the Amped Perk is a must to let you switch between your two primaries as quickly as possible, so you’re never caught with the wrong weapon for too long.

When it comes to Equipment, Semtex are an easy-to-use lethal that can score quick kills, while Stims offer a useful health and speed boost to get you out of a pinch.

How to unlock H4 Blixen in Warzone

H4 Blixen in Warzone

Warzone players can unlock the H4 Blixen by getting three Slide kills in a single match 15 times.

The easiest way to complete this challenge is by hopping into Vanguard multiplayer and racking up the kills. But if you only play Warzone, a mode like Clash is probably your best bet.

Best alternatives to H4 Blixen in Warzone

If the H4 Blixen isn’t cutting it for you, there are plenty of other meta SMGs that might suit you better.

Both the MP40 and Owen Gun are two of the game’s best Sniper supports, and can both hold their own at mid-range as well.

FaZe Swagg claims Warzone MAC-10 is meta in Season 4 with new loadout

FaZe Swagg believes the MAC-10 is now meta in Warzone Season 4 after receiving buffs, showing off a brand-new loadout.

Published

warzone season 4 faze swagg fortunes keep

With all the changes in Warzone Season 4, the meta has shifted yet again, and Kris ‘FaZe Swagg’ Lamberson believes this new MAC-10 loadout is now meta.

Warzone Season 4 brought a variety of changes to the game, including a shift in the weapon meta which saw Vanguard weapons become favored over others.

Having said that, the Vanguard SMGs have taken a slight decline after the June 25 hotfix which saw the speed attachments nerfed. With that being said this has opened up the close-range meta for the MAC-10, which FaZe Swagg believes is now meta.

Mac-10 in Warzone Rebirth Reinforced

The MAC-10 was one of the best SMGs in Warzone when it first arrived with Black Ops Cold War, but after being deemed overpowered, it was nerfed.

Now, in Warzone Season 4, the MAC-10 received a surprise buff in the patch notes, increasing its minimum damage, headshot damage multiplier, and maximum damage range.

FaZe Swagg feels these buffs and the Vanguard SMG nerfs have opened up the meta for the MAC-10 to shine. Here is the loadout recommended by the Warzone pro.

FaZe Swagg Warzone MAC-10 loadout

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 5.9″ Task Force
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap
  • Magazine: STANAG 53 Rnd Drum

It’s important to note that FaZe Swagg was running this MAC-10 loadout on the new Fortune’s Keep map, which is designed for close-quarters fights. It is wise to run the MAC-10 with a long-range weapon like the UGM, just so you have all distances covered.

The Agency Suppressor and 5.9″ Task Force gives the MAC-10 some added range and bullet velocity, while the Raider Stock increases the sprint to fire time, aim walking movement speed, and ADS firing move speed.

In order to get your shots off first, the Serpent Wrap increases your aim down sight speed. Lastly, the STANAG 53 Rnd Drum means that you can take out multiple enemies at a time without the need to reload.

Make sure you give this loadout a try as FaZe Swagg believes it is now meta in Warzone Season 4. If you’re interested in TTK, check out our guide on the fastest killing weapons in Warzone.

Best controller settings for Warzone Pacific Season 4

To improve your accuracy and movement in Warzone, here are the best controller settings after the Season 4 update.

Warzone Pacific Season 4 controller settings

Call of Duty: Warzone offers players many controller settings to fine-tune, such as Aim Assist and movement. We’ve put together a guide to help you find the best settings to use in Warzone Pacific’s Caldera, Rebirth Island, and Fortune’s Keep.

Warzone Pacific Season 4 has been one of the most game-changing updates Warzone has ever received, with Raven Software introducing the brand new Fortune’s Keep map, major weapon buffs and nerfs, and giving Caldera one of the biggest updates it’s ever had.

Despite the update, aim and movement remain the most important mechanics to master, so you’ll need the best settings in order to dominate. Whether you play with a controller on PC or consoles, here are the best Warzone controller settings to improve your accuracy and movement in Caldera, Rebirth Island, and Fortune’s Keep.

Best Warzone controller settings

Warzone Season 4 Mercenaries of Fortune key art

General

  • BR Button Layout: Tactical flipped
  • Stick Layout Preset: Default
  • Invert Vertical Look: Disabled
  • Deadzone: 0 (then increase as required)
  • Horizontal Stick Sensitivity: 7
  • Vertical Stick Sensitivity: 7
  • ADS Sensitivity Multiplier (Low Zoom): 0.75
  • ADS Sensitivity Multiplier (High Zoom): 0.85
  • Aim Response Curve Type: Standard/Dynamic
  • Controller Vibration: Disabled

For your button layout, Tactical is the best choice. When playing Warzone, you’ll constantly be crouching, slide canceling, and going prone. Tactical maps your crouch/slide button to the thumbstick, so you don’t need to move your thumb and can be as quick as possible when using the best Warzone controller settings.

You also want Deadzone to be as low as possible for maximum response time while aiming. Start with your Deadzone set to 0 and keep increasing it until you no longer have any stick drift. This depends entirely on how old your controller is.

Weapons

  • Aim Assist: Precision
  • Scale Aim Assist with FOV: Enabled
  • Weapon Mount Activation: ADS + Melee
  • Weapon Mount Movement Exit: Enabled
  • Aim Down Sight Behavior: Hold
  • Equipment Behavior: Hold
  • Use/Reload Behavior: Tap to use
  • Depleted Ammo Weapon Switch: Enabled
  • Armor Plate Behavior: Apply One

Tap to use is a godsend. Your game will prioritize whether you reload or interact based on your situation. You’ll be able to instantly open crates and reload, making it a vital setting to enable.

Movement

  • Slide Behavior: Hold
  • Auto Move Forward: Disabled
  • Automatic Sprint: Auto Tactical Sprint
  • Vehicle Camera Recenter: Enabled
  • Parachute Auto-Deploy: Disabled

When using Parachute Auto-Deploy, you want to get comfortable with having it Disabled. You’ll be able to pull your chute lower to the ground, meaning you can reach the ground as fast as possible. It can be daunting knowing there’s no safeguard, but pulling your chute close to the ground is extremely worthwhile.

Best Warzone Aim Response Curve

Winery POI in Warzone Fortune's Keep map

Warzone has separate Aim Response Curves, so you can fine-tune your aim to something you’re comfortable with. Their titles can be confusing, so we’ll break down exactly what they mean and what’s best for you.

  • Standard: Standard curve from aim stick to aim rate. When you initially aim, there will be a slight delay in speed when the stick is pressed all the way in a specific direction.
  • Linear: Removes initial speed delay when the stick is pressed all the way in a direction. More for aggressive, fast movements at the cost of precision.
  • Dynamic: Hybrid system between linear and standard. Your aim will speed up slightly when initially moving the stick.

The majority of players use Standard. Whether you’re new to Call of Duty or a returning player, this will feel the most natural to you.

If you’re confident in your aim and can transition between targets quickly, we’d recommend using Dynamic. Many of the top players use this response curve because of the fine aim rate control it provides.

Best Warzone Aim Assist Type

Warzone player fighting in Season 4 Caldera

Warzone offers four Aim Assist types, so you can find what comes most naturally to you. We would never recommend turning Aim Assist off, but here’s a breakdown of the options available to controller players when it comes to the best Warzone controller settings.

  • Disabled: You will have no Aim Assist.
  • Standard: Traditional aim slowdown near the target. A wider area where your aim will slow around an opponent. Best for regular Call of Duty players who want some extra time to lock on the target.
  • Precision: Strong aim assist slowdown that only kicks in when close to an enemy player. Only use this option if you’re a skilled and accurate player. The slowdown area is minimal and casual players will not like this.
  • Focusing: Strong aim slowdown that kicks in when narrowly missing targets. If you’re new to Call of Duty, this is your best bet to improve on a controller.

The majority of players should use Standard Aim assist. It provides the perfect aim slowdown near targets while still allowing for precise adjustments if you need to make them.

If you’re new to FPS games and aren’t used to aiming with a controller yet, you should use Focusing until you feel the Aim Assist is stronger than you need, then use Standard.

Best Aim Assist for Sniping in Warzone

Warzone player with sniper rifle

Some of the Warzone community believe that to be an accurate sniper. You need to play on a mouse and keyboard. This isn’t true, as with the right settings, you can down players from miles away and quickscoping with precision up-close.

For your Aim Response Curve, you should use Dynamic. You’ll be able to have finer control over how fast your crosshair is moving, allowing for easier flick shots and tracking far-off players.

For your Aim Assist Type, it’s the same situation as any other weapon. If you’re a confident player and need to make micro-adjustments to hit sniper headshots, you should use Precision. And if you’re comfortable with your aim and don’t have an issue sniping with Aim Assist, Standard will be the perfect choice.

You should also check out our ranked list of the best snipers to use in Warzone.

Does FOV affect Aim Assist?

Warzone PC players have the option to adjust the game’s field of view. Console players still don’t have this option as the devs announced it won’t be coming to console.

Best Warzone Controller Settings

Increasing your FOV allows you to see much more of what’s in front of you. Console’s FOV is set to around 80 by default, while PC players can crank that value all the way up to 120. This gives PC players a major advantage in seeing more players off to the side of their screen.

Using such as high FOV will stretch and shrink everything in front of you, which can throw off your Aim Assist.

Activision has added a setting to combat this, which is well worth using if you play Warzone with a high FOV on a controller. It would be best if you had Scale Aim Assist with FOV set to Enabled, as this will keep your Aim Assist consistent, no matter your field of view.

How to find the best Warzone controller settings

Although we’ve provided the best Warzone controller settings you should try, there’s no setting that works perfectly for everyone. It’s tempting to find your favorite pro player or content creator and copy their settings, but they might not be the best for you.

Shoot House map in Modern Warfare's multiplayer

We’d recommend jumping into a Custom Game of Modern Warfare and testing out some different controller settings to find the best Warzone controller settings for you, as they both use the same engine. If you don’t own MW, then Plunder, or any other respawn game mode will work well.

To maximize your time while testing out the settings, here’s what we’d recommend:

  • Map: Shoot House
  • Mode: Free-for-All
  • Rules:
    • Time limit: Unlimited
    • Score limit: Unlimited
  • Bots and players:
    • Number of bots: 6
    • Bot difficulty: Recruit

With these custom game settings, you’ll be able to practice shooting for as long as you like. Shoothouse is small enough that you’ll be able to fight constantly, and the Recruit level bots will hardly shoot back at you.

While you’re in this private mode, you should also try getting your Minimum Input Thresholds as low as they’ll go. Start at 0, and move it up one until you no longer receive stick drift.
