With the satellites crash-landing in Verdansk in Season 4, Warzone and Cold War will include the Ground Fall event, offering players various unique cosmetic rewards for completing all of the Ground Fall Event challenges.
As teased in the Season 4 reveal trailer, satellites have crash-landed in Verdansk ’84. Similar to Adler’s capture kicking off Season 3’s Hunt for Adler event, these satellites’ arrival will kickstart the ‘Ground Fall’ event.
As with all Cold War and Warzone limited time events, there will be a series of challenges to complete, allowing you to earn cosmetic items such as weapon Blueprints, Operator skins, calling cards, and more.
Start and end date
Activision have confirmed that the Ground Fall event will kick-off in Season 4, so it will begin on June 17.
Devs also confirmed that when the new season begins, the Ground Fall event tab will appear on the menus so you can begin completing the challenges and immediately start earning the rewards.
This event is limited time, so you’ll need to complete all of the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone challenges before 10 AM PT on June 24 to earn every reward.
Warzone & Cold War Ground Fall challenges
Similar to the 80s Action Heroes and Hunt For Adler events, there will be separate challenges for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.
While the full list of challenges hasn’t been revealed yet, devs have given us a taste of what they’ll entail. They said that Cold War’s will be relating to Season 4’s “new modes, maps, and weaponry,” Warzone’s will pertain to the new POIs, such as finding and securing SAT-Links.
You can find all of the Ground Fall event challenges and how to complete them below:
- In Warzone, secure 5 Uplink Stations
- In Warzone, Eliminate 10 enemies while near an active Uplink Station or recently crashed Satellite
- In Warzone, collect 3 rewards from crashed Satellites
- In Cold War, earn 1,000 points from captured Uplink Stations in Fireteam Sat-Link
- In Cold War, get 250 Eliminations in matches on Collateral, Collateral Strike, Hijacked, or Amsterdam
- In Cold War, get 15 kills with the Hand Cannon Scorestreak
Warzone & Cold War Ground Fall Event rewards
There will be various cosmetic items to earn in the Ground Fall Event challenges as with previous events. As you complete both Cold War and Warzone’s Ground Fall Event challenges, you’ll earn Ground Fall-themed cosmetics, and for completing every challenge, you’ll get an “out of this world” Epic Secondary Weapon Blueprint.
Here’s every Ground Fall reward confirmed so far:
- Calling Cards
- Satellite Weapon Charm
- Epic Secondary Weapon Blueprint

Black Ops Cold War players are not happy with new LAPA SMG
The LAPA is a new SMG for Black Ops Cold War in Season 6, but fans have complained that it may not be as useful in-game as they hoped.
Black Ops Cold War Season 6 is the last hurrah for the latest CoD entry before Vanguard takes center stage. Unfortunately, the new LAPA SMG has players talking for the wrong reasons since its addition in the last major update.
Unfortunately, not all of the new additions have gone down well among the community, with the new LAPA SMG in particular user under fire from fans.
“…the only thing this thing has is relatively good handling, which is hardly even significant considering all SMGs carry that trait anyways,” said the user.
“It’s the slowest killing SMG, and depends on headshots to simply equal the body shot TTK of other SMGs, and has a very slow muzzle velocity to the point where it becomes almost unusable.”
PartyImpOP also slammed the rest of the Season 6 content, such as “the worst weapon in the Call of Duty history” in the Battle Axe.
Other players were quick to respond to the post, calling the new additions in Season 6 “filler” content at the end of the game’s life in the spotlight.
“Honestly, they were probably just afraid to release more broken weapons right before they abandon ship on this game,” added another Reddit user.
While The Haunting event has been a hit for the most part for Call of Duty fans, it’s clear that some of the new content is living up to expectations.
With so little time before Vanguard drops, it remains to be seen if Raven will take steps to make the LAPA more useful.
