Warzone community distraught over Specialist Bonus being removed
The Specialist Bonus item had been extremely popular with many members of the Warzone community, and its recent removal from the Call of Duty battle royale has left many players saddened by its departure.
Season 3 Reloaded brought plenty of exciting things for players to experience in the world of Call of Duty: Warzone. One of the most exciting was the addition of Nakatomi Plaza from the Die Hard movie franchise for the 80s Action Heroes event, as it brought a Vault that players could open to earn some incredible rewards.
These rewards consisted of $100,000 and the powerful Specialist Bonus. This Specialist Bonus soon became a very sought-after item for players. It gave players who had it every perk available in Warzone, making its wielders immensely more powerful than a regular player.
However, the June 3 update for Call of Duty: Warzone concluded the 80s Action Heroes event and closed the Nakatomi Plaza vault meaning players can no longer get the Specialist Bonus. This led many prominent members of the Warzone community to react to the news of the item dominating Verdansk ’84 recently being gone.
There is no doubt that the experience of dropping onto Nakatomi Plaza at the beginning of a match and doing your best to eliminate other players and open the vault to grab all of the cash and Specialist Bonus brought a great deal of excitement to the game that many players, such as content creator Hutch, felt was one of the best additions to the Call of Duty battle royale ever.
The news of the Specialist Bonus being gone from the world of Warzone did not sit well with high-profile Twitch streamers TimTheTatMan and NICKMERCS who expressed sadness over not being able to acquire the item in their matches anymore.
Florida Mutineers Content creator LEGIQN also stated that he was heartbroken over the vault being closed.
Top Warzone competitor MuTeX stated that he had “nerfed” with the Specialist Bonus and $100,000 both being gone from the game.
However, not all of the reactions from the community were of a negative nature when it came to the removal of the Specialist Bonus from Warzone.
100 Thieves Warzone player Rated posted a tweet saying, “Thank the heavens,” with the news of this vault item being gone from the battle royale, so the closing of the vault was not bad news to everyone on June 3, 2021.
It remains to be seen if the Specialist Bonus will ever make a return to Call of Duty: Warzone in the same way that it did in the Nakatomi Plaza vault during the 80s Action Heroes event. Still, there is no doubt that plenty of players will be excited if it ever does.
