Warzone stats expert Anthony Zachman, aka ‘TrueGameData’, has revealed one of the best close-range Warzone SMGs that everybody is currently overlooking.

As well as JGOD, popular Call of Duty YouTuber and stats expert TrueGameData has delved into the best options for Warzone Season 5 when it comes to SMGs and close-range engagements.

It’s no surprise to see SMGs like the Type 100, Armaguerra, and brand-new RA 225 SMG up there on the list, but TrueGameData does mention one weapon that nobody is currently using.

While breaking down the Warzone Season 5 close-range SMG meta on August 30, TrueGameData threw a surprise pick in there, the Sten.

The Sten has been out of favor for many seasons now, but it is looking to make a return in Warzone Season 5, as TrueGameData is now claiming that it’s “one of the best choices right now.”

According to the Warzone expert, the Sten is “fantastic all-around, it doesn’t really have many weak points.” TrueGameData goes on to say that it’s a weapon “that nobody really uses” but is “actually really good.”

When it comes to the stats and performance, TrueGameData says that the Sten is “very accurate, it has very very little recoil.” The Sten is also very flexible, and can be built in any way the player wants, as long as it has these four attachments:

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: SA 65mm Rapid
  • Magazine: 9mm 50 Round Drums
  • Ammunition: Hollow Point

As for the rest of the attachments, “you can build this for movement speed…ADS strafe speed…hipfire…you guys can build it for however you like to play.”

Overall the Warzone stats expert feels that the Sten is “an absolutely top choice, pretty much tied with the Arma as like the easiest to use all-rounder kind of gun.”

He feels as if it can compete with the current meta weapons that everybody is using at the moment, such as the Type 100, Armaguerra, and the PPSh, as it has a great TKK, damage per mag, and recoil.
