Warzone data reveals Burst Rifles kill faster than Season 6 meta weapons
Warzone YouTuber and statistician TrueGameData has revealed that the AUG and CARV.2 Burst Rifles are still viable in Season 6, killing faster than some of the meta Assault Rifles and SMGs.
When Modern Warfare was the main Call of Duty title, Burst Rifles never quite made it into the meta. The FR 5.56 never made much of a splash, and burst-fire mods for Assault Rifles weren’t worth your time. However, that changed with Black Ops Cold War’s integration, with the AUG and M16 being the only viable weapons for weeks.
Nerfs have tamed these beasts, but Warzone stats expert TrueGameData has discovered that Burst Rifles are still extremely viable in the Season 6 meta.
M16, AUG, and CARV.2 TTK comparison
The AUG and M16 were the too extremely dominant weapons back in April 2021, but TrueGameData believes that players gave up on the weapons after the nerf. Looking at their time to kill (TTK), he argued they can still compete with the meta.
The EM2 has arguably become the meta Assault Rifle in Season 6, and TrueGameData’s stats show that when hitting a headshot, both the AUG and M16 kill quicker than the EM2 at ranges beyond 25 meters.
While the FR 5.56 technically has a better TTK, TGD believes the AUG is more consistent than both it and the M16 because of its extra neck-shot damage.
But with the Match Grade barrel, the CARV has an extremely low TTK, and “it kills faster than the OTs 9“. This reduces its range, but it becomes an excellent choice as a mid-range weapon. The only things holding its range back are the high recoil and low bullet velocity.
TrueGameData explained that “overall, I think the CARV has the potential to be a really, really good gun if you can just mix in one headshot in there,” and said that “the AUG is in a pretty good spot now too.”
TrueGameData’s best AUG loadout
- Muzzle: Agency Silencer
- Barrel: 17″ Titanium
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
- Magazine: 45 Rnd Drum
If you’re planning on using the AUG at long-range, this is the loadout that TrueGameData recommends. The 17″ Titanium barrel increases the fire rate, lowering its TTK in turn. And the rest of the attachments are to make sure you can consistently land shots without damaging your ADS time too much.
TrueGameData’s best CARV.2 loadout
- Muzzle: Silencer
- Barrel: 23.6″ Match Grade
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
- Magazine: 45 Rnd Drum
When using the CARV, you want it to build it as an “aggressive mid-range gun” for Verdansk and Rebirth Island.
Interestingly, TrueGameData recommends sticking with the standard Silencer attachment because it only affects range, which doesn’t matter for the Burst Rifles. Then, the 23.6″ Match Grade gives that extremely fast TTK.
Burst Rifle weapons are still powerful choices in Call of Duty: Warzone, and these AUG and CARV.2 builds are well worth a try in Season 6.
