Raven Software has released a new in game update for Call of Duty: Warzone on all platforms on December 19.

The new update fixes the infinite stim glitch that reappeared with the Season One update, along with other fixes.

In a series of tweets, the studio provided the patch notes.

Dec 19 Patch Notes:

  • Fixed issue that allowed player to use tactical items infinitely
  • Speculative fix for players stuck when accessing loadout drops – if you still encounter this, let us know!
  • Fixed issue that prevented Seasonal Challenge progression
  • Fixed issue that prevented access to Match Summary screens
  • Fixed issue that prevented player from equipping max Cold War weapon level attachments
  • Fixed issue that displayed “unlocks at random level” instead of weapons’ intended unlock levels

Here’s the tweets from the studio

The studio recently also disabled attack helicopters in Warzone, across both maps, due to an invisible player glitch that was occurring in the mode. There is no ETA yet for when the Attack Helicopters will return.

Frustrating Warzone loadout drop glitch freezes players in place again

A game-breaking Warzone glitch has returned, causing players to get frozen in place after opening loadout drops.

Published

on

At the beginning of Warzone Season 1, players were frustrated by a loadout drop glitch freezing them in place. Now, it appears it has returned and players aren’t happy.

While the overpowered DMR dominated Call of Duty news headlines before it was nerfed, the loadout drop glitch has been ticking away in the background, freezing players in place until they are killed. Now that weapons are in a good place, game-breaking bugs and glitches are becoming more noticeable.

Raven Software released a speculative fix for the issue in December, but more and more players are taking to social media to report the issue returning. We’re unsure if it ever went away, but it’s becoming more common again.

Loadout drops freeze Warzone players again

The glitch makes it so that after opening a loadout drop to receive your custom weapons, you’ll become stuck in place for a few seconds; sometimes even longer. While it’s almost always necessary to get a loadout drop to win a game of Warzone, there’s a certain risk involved.

Buying a loadout drop can be heard by players nearby, and your location will be marked by the red smoke grenade and the crate dropping out of the sky. And your free one often lands in the same location as nearby enemies, so they’re often contested.

Opening the loadout should be a risky but quick process, but with this glitch, there’s a high chance that it’s a death sentence.

Reddit user bw112791 shared the loadout glitch getting them killed on January 20, but their post is one of many. You can see exactly what happens in the Reddit post below.

On Activision’s official Trello board, they have listed “Loadout drop: Player is frozen temporarily or until death when looting” as “under investigation.”

While perhaps being a little slow for weapon balancing patches, Warzone devs are usually quick to hotfix game-breaking glitches, like when the helicopter was turning players invisible.

As soon as a fix is released for this frustrating bug, we’ll be sure to update this article.

Strange glitch in Warzone doesn’t show zone circle

Some Warzone players are being left helpless as a bug is not showing the zone circle and leaving them clueless as to where to rotate to.

warzone zone circle glitch

Warzone has a new glitch that is preventing players from being able to see the zone circle. As a result, players have no idea where to go.

A new inconvenience seems to spring up each week for Warzone with players having to second-guess what their experience is potentially going to be like.

The newest issue to arise is a glitch that causes the circle to not appear in BR Buy Back Solos. One player has shown-off evidence of the rather difficult proposition they were faced with. A substantial part of Battle Royale is anticipating the zone and getting a headstart on the next location. Whereas this bug eliminates any potential foresight and hinders you in the present.

Warzone zone circle bug

YouTube user HungLikeALemur is the unfortunate individual that encountered this weird occurrence and captured footage of it too.

In their video, the game loads, and they start their descent into Verdansk. One quick check of the map and it’s instantly apparent that something is amiss. Our player can see the map, but no discernible circle.

It becomes a random plunge into the map and hope for the best. Another reason why the circumstances are very unusual is that in the Buy Back Mode, you are supposed to start with $4500. But as the gameplay footage shows, they start with precisely $0.

Given that the starting money is affected, it would be wise to suggest that the root of this glitch is in the Buy Back Solos game mode.

It’s a strange one because even after a full minute of gameplay, the map is still completely devoid of the circle’s presence. We can only assume that it stayed this way and made for an even tougher Warzone than it already is.

There have been no reports of this glitch happening in the traditional battle royale mode, so fingers crossed it stays that way. If more reports of the zone circle not appearing are raised, then some action may have to be taken.

Best Warzone AS VAL loadout: Attachments & perks

Here are the best attachments and perks to maximize the AS VAL’s potential in Warzone’s Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Published

on

The AS VAL has one of the fastest time-to-kills in Warzone, so it’s well worth running as your secondary weapon. Here are the best attachments and perks to maximize the AS VAL’s potential in Warzone season 1.

There are plenty of viable weapons in Warzone Season 1, especially with every weapon from Black Ops Cold War being added to the game. The AS VAL is a surprising pick but can be extremely effective in the right situations.

Most Warzone players run a ‘main’ weapon such as a long-range Assault Rifle or Sniper, and carry another weapon in their ‘pocket’ for up close. Although being an Assault Rifle, the AS VAL packs a real punch in CQB, so is well worth running in your pocket.

Here are the best AS VAL loadouts for both Warzone’s Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Best Warzone AS VAL loadout

  • Barrel: VLK 200mm Osa
  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Underbarrel: Merc Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 30 Round Mags
  • Rear Grip: Rubberized Grip Tape

This AS VAL is built to dominate at close-medium range. Its strong recoil makes it difficult to control but its fast fire rate makes it one of the strongest at close-medium. Built-up areas of Verdansk such as Quarry, Hospital, and the clusters of houses around the map are where this weapon will excel. You can also pair it with a sniper rifle so you have a weapon for all situations.

The VLK 200mm Osa barrel comes with an internal Monolithic Suppressor, vastly increasing its range and bullet velocity. The iron sights on the VAL are unobtrusive, so you’re better off using them and taking advantage of the free attachment slot.

The Merc Foregrip is most commonly used on SMGs for its increase to hip-fire accuracy and mobility. It’s a perfect addition to the AS VAL as it reduces vertical recoil but will also help in those close range engagements. The Rubberized Grip Tape gives a further boost to recoil control but increases weapon sway. As this is a close-medium range weapon, don’t expect to be aiming down the sights for a lengthy amount of time.

With this weapon’s incredibly fast fire rate, the 30 round mag is necessary. You’ll find yourself only being able to down one opponent before reloading, so this weapon is especially effective in BR Solos.

Best perks to use with Warzone AS VAL

Warzone amped perk

To get the most out of your AS VAL, you need to have the best perks to match. These perks set you up for the match ahead, helping you survive in almost any Warzone situation.

Perk 1 – E.O.D

With how prevalent explosives are in Warzone, you need the perk to survive that. If an enemy gets you weak, expect Semtex’s and C4 to come flying at you. With E.O.D, as long as you have armor equipped, you’ll be able to tank an insane amount of explosive damage.

Perk 2 – Overkill then Ghost

Having weapons for all situations is incredibly important in Warzone, and Overkill grants you two weapons from any category.

Once you have Overkill from your first loadout, simply take a similar class with the Ghost perk, pick up both of your weapons, and you’ll have everything you need to win.

Perk 3 – Amped

With the AS VAL being best suited for close-medium range situations, you will need to swap between weapons in a hurry. Amped makes weapon swaps almost instant, so no matter what weapon you have in your hands, swapping them won’t be an issue.
