Warzone devs confirm plans to fix frustrating no-glint Sniper Rifles

After Warzone YouTuber JGOD revealed that certain Modern Warfare sniper scopes no longer have glint, Raven Software confirmed they are investigating the issue.

Scope glint is included in most shooters where long-range sniping takes place as a camouflaged sniper is nearly impossible to spot, therefore being incredibly difficult to take out. Unfortunately, it’s been known for some time that certain Cold War sniper scopes offer no glint in Warzone.

Warzone received a surprise update on April 6 that sought to clear up some of the game’s frustrating bugs, as well as nerfing the dominant AUG and FFAR 1. While some things were fixed in this update, others were broken, however.

As discovered by YouTuber JGOD, certain scopes on Modern Warfare’s weapons now have no glint, either.

For Modern Warfare’s Sniper Rifles such as the Kar98k and HDR, the Variable Zoom scopes no longer have any glint in Warzone or Modern Warfare’s multiplayer. The Variable Zoom scope is a popular choice anyway, but it’s much more powerful now.

While you use these scopes, you have as much time as you need to line up that perfect headshot. Unless the enemy spots your silhouette, there’s very little chance they’ll see you, leading to an easy kill. And even if you miss your target, you’ll likely get several chances to land your shot before they know where you are.

Raven Software, Warzone’s developers, have now confirmed that they are aware of the issue and are investigating it. In a card added to their official Trello board, developers said that “Players are reporting that some/all IW8 (Modern Warfare/Warzone’s engine) sniper scopes no longer have glint.” They’ve also added an ‘investigating’ label to the card, revealing its status.

It’s very likely that once the developers find the root of the problem, it’ll be quickly patched out, along with the RC-XD’s position in the Buy Station list, for which a fix is scheduled. As for the Cold War sniper scopes with no glint, it’s possible they will also be fixed in this patch.

Developers are yet to acknowledge the broken Bullseye reticle for Cold War’s snipers that makes the game unplayable.
