Warzone devs explain why they keep removing your favorite mode in playlist updates
Warzone players have been upset that the weekly playlist updates are constantly removing their favorite game modes, and the developers have finally explained the reason behind these changes.
When you hop into a game of Warzone, you can try out several different game modes like Rebirth Resurgence and Vanguard Plunder, with each one providing a unique combat experience for players to enjoy.
However, as popular as some of these modes are, they’re sometimes missing from the game when the developers bring a new weekly playlist update, much to the frustration of Warzone players.
Now, Raven Software have explained the reason behind these changes.
The Warzone developers addressed this issue in a blog post, going over the process of putting together the weekly playlist, and they highlighted three main areas of focus: motivation, engagement, and squad sizes.
When discussing the motivation aspect, they explained that they introduce different modes so that they can satisfy the largest amount of players and then check to see which ones are gaining the most popularity.
This helps Raven Software decide which modes to keep or bring back in future updates. They also stated that while they keep some modes pretty much the same, they experiment with different party sizes to find the best fit for each one.
So, the reason they remove certain game modes is to see how many players will call for their return to the weekly playlists, helping the developers assess their overall popularity.
The blog post also provides an outline of Raven Software’s plans for Warzone Pacific Season 2, which include adding brand-new game modes along with weekly updates which could feature additions like Iron Trials.

As frustrating as it can be to see your favorite game mode missing from the game, it’s reassuring to know that the developers are always listening to player feedback so they can improve weekly playlists.
