Warzone devs nerf MW MP5 secret buff in Season 5 Reloaded update
After discovering the secret buff to the MP5 in Warzone Season 5, the developers have nerfed the Modern Warfare weapon once again, reducing its power.
The weapon meta has shifted yet again in Warzone thanks to the Season 5 Reloaded update.
With various buffs and nerfs detailed in the patch notes, players will find that the dominance of the Krig 6 may now be over.
Further, this isn’t the only big change for weapon balancing, as players aren’t only disappointed with the Fal nerf, but the secret MW MP5 buff that was discovered in Season 5 has officially been nerfed.
In the Season 5 update, players realized that one of the attachments on the MP5 had been buffed significantly, despite the weapon receiving overall nerfs to allow the Cold War MP5 to shine.
The secret buff ultimately made the 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags attachment extremely powerful, making it one of the fastest TTK weapons in the game.
Even though the magazine size was very small, the close-range TTK and efficiency of the attachment made the MW MP5 meta once again.
Unfortunately, this secret buff has now been nerfed, as the patch notes detailed a decrease in damage while using the 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags:
- Submachine Gun Charlie (MW) with 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags
- Maximum Damage decreased from 34 to 31
“This Maximum Damage change mirrors the adjustment to the base Submachine Gun Charlie (MW) made earlier this season.“
This does make the weapon much less viable in Season 5, as players were finding success with the 10mm Auto 30-Round mags, but now it has been nerfed. The 30 round magazine just isn’t enough bullets to take on squads in Warzone.
