Warzone devs release update to fix “broken” C58 Assault Rifle 4x scope: Patch notes

Raven Software have dropped a new patch on July 21 to address recoil issues with the C58 Royal & Kross 4x optic scope.

Warzone devs Raven Software have released a new patch on Wednesday, July 21 to fix an issue with the “broken” 4x scope on the C58 Assault Rifle.

While many were confused about whether the AR was good or not when the weapon originally released, the C58 has gone on to become one of Warzone Season 4’s most popular weapons and features in lots of the game’s best loadouts.

Although it possesses a slower rate of fire, the weapon is powerful and accurate – a must for Call of Duty’s intense battle royale shooter. However, players grew tired of its overuse in Warzone, and Raven Software did recently nerf its damage, range, and accuracy.

Even with this nerf, the Royal & Kross 4x scope made sure that the C58 was still unbelievably powerful, reducing the recoil on the weapon significantly and making an incredibly accurate option. Now, Raven Software have dropped a new patch to fix this issue.

In a tweet on July 21, Raven Software confirmed that a new Warzone update was going live imminently, with the Royal & Kross 4x Optic the main target.

Raven state that the changes to the scope are to affect recoil, so hopefully the C58 will be brought back into the recoil ranges of other ARs, no matter which scope you use.

Alongside these changes, Raven have also dealt with a bug that caused Dead Silence to remain active for an entire game if used before the pre-match lobby ended, while also fixing an issue with text on Blueprints.

The patch is going live on all platforms, so players can expect to have a small download the next time they boot up the game on PC, Xbox, or PlayStation.

Warzone dev responds to more issues with still broken Gas Mask animation

Warzone’s Gas Mask animation continues to cause problems in Season 3, and Raven’s Senior Creative DIrector has addressed the issue.

Warzone Operators with Gas Masks

The Gas Mask animation has been a constant source of criticism in Warzone, and Season 3 looked to finally solve the frustrating feature. However, Gas Masks are still causing undue deaths, and Warzone dev Ted Timmins has responded.

While Warzone’s Gas Mask is incredibly useful for when you need to take the fight into the poisonous cloud, its equip animation has been a constant source of problems in the battle royale.

The Gas Mask animation was first addressed back in Season 2, to stop it from playing while aiming down the sights and leaving players exposed during fights. Then, an issue that saw the animation trigger while falling, preventing players from pulling their parachutes, was fixed in Season 3.

However, it appears the Gas Mask is still wreaking havoc in Season 3, and Warzone Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins has responded.

Warzone character weaing gas mask

Former CoD pro and content creator Tyler “TeeP” Polchow tweeted a clip on May 17, showing how the Gas Mask animation cost him a game after reaching the top three.

As he stood on a rooftop firing arrows at rival players, the gas cloud slowly moved in over him causing his Gas Mask to automatically equip. After knocking down an enemy, he looked to jump and parachute back into the circle, a tactic used regularly to make up ground quickly.

It didn’t go according to plan though, as the animation for removing the Gas Mask triggered before Teep could pull his parachute, causing him to fall to his death.

Other players replied to the clip, with one saying: “It’s insane the absolute OBSESSION these devs have [with] a Gask Mask animation.”

This sparked a response from Warzone Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins, who assured players that the team is looking to solve the problem.

“These videos are why I have an obsession with it, and we aren’t giving up on these QoL [Quality of Life] improvements,” tweeted Timmins. “I’ll discuss with the team, @TylerTeeP.”

This appears to just be an unintentional glitch, because as of Season 3 the animation is no longer supposed to interrupt falling players. However, it’s clear to see from the clip just how problematic the bug is, abruptly putting an end to TeeP’s game at a crucial moment.

Hopefully, Timmins and the rest of the team at Raven Software can roll out a fix as soon as possible, before it costs too many more players valuable wins.

FaZe Booya reveals “underrated” Warzone Rebirth Island SMG you should be using

Warzone pro FaZe Booya has shown off his loadout for an underused SMG that is perfect for Rebirth Island in Season 3.

Warzone is jam-packed with high-quality SMGs that deal big damage in Season 3, but CoD pro Ean ‘FaZe Booya’ Chase has shown off an underappreciated weapon that is ideal for Rebirth Island.

Compared to the vast open spaces of Caldera, Warzone Rebirth Island is far more tightly packed, favoring close-quarters combat over picking off enemies from afar. This means players will be relying heavily on short-range weapons to fire them to victory.

Warzone Season 3 has plenty of meta SMGs that are proven to be effective across both modes, but the more forgiving nature of Rebirth means players have more room to experiment with more obscure weapons.

Warzone pro FaZe Booya has shown off his class for an “underrated” SMG that you should be running on Rebirth – the Cold War TEC-9.

TEC-9 in Warzone

First unlocked through the Cold War Season 5 Battle Pass, the TEC-9 has largely fallen by the wayside in Warzone these days. According to WZ Ranked, it has a pick rate of just 0.04 despite its three modes of fire and its capabilities in close-range duels.

However, Booya urged players not to sleep on it in his May 18 video, saying about his TEC-9 loadout: “It was pretty fun to use, I think it’s pretty underrated.”

Check out his full loadout below:

FaZe Booya’s Warzone Rebirth Island TEC-9 loadout

  • Muzzle: Full Auto Repeater
  • Barrel: 4.9″ Task Force
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
  • Ammunition: Salvo 48 Rnd Fast Mags

FaZe Booya kicked off his class with the Full Auto Repeater to switch the TEC-9 to fully automatic while giving its fire rate a considerable boost. He paired it with the 4.9″ Task Force Barrel to increase the damage range and velocity to make mid-range fights more manageable.

Next up, he picked the Raider Stock and Bruiser Grip for a massive buff to mobility, crucial for outmaneuvering opponents in Rebirth many buildings. He rounded out the TEC-9 loadout with Salvo 48 Rnd Fast Mags for much-needed reload speed, saying “you can kill two people pretty easily, three if you hit your shots.”

Booya did warn players that the recoil on the TEC-9 can make it tough to control, but urged players to keep practicing with it to unlock the SMG’s potential. So, the next time you drop into Rebirth, consider giving this Cold War SMG a try.

Best Bren loadout for Warzone Pacific Season 3

We’ve got all the attachments, Perks, and equipment you need to build the best Bren loadout in Warzone Pacific Season 3.

Bren LMG in Warzone Pacific

The Bren LMG can cause some serious pain to its targets with the right attachments, Perks, and equipment, so here’s the best Bren Loadout in Warzone Pacific Season 3.

Warzone Pacific’s Bren LMG is an extremely powerful weapon that was once immensely popular because of its great range, low recoil, as well as its impressive amount of ammo, and firepower.

The weapon has fallen under favor after receiving nerfs, but you can still make it into a deadly killing machine in Warzone Pacific Season 3 with the right attachments, Perks, and equipment.

Here’s the best Warzone Pacific Season 3 Bren LMG loadout.

Best Warzone Bren loadout

Bren in Warzone Pacific

Best Warzone Bren loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: MX Silencer
  • Barrel: Queen’s 705mm Royal
  • Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
  • Stock: Queen’s Model 11 BH
  • Underbarrel: m1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 6.5 Sakura 40 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Perk: Tight Grip
  • Perk 2: Fully Loaded

We’ll start off this Warzone Bren loadout by equipping the MX Silencer muzzle and Queen’s 705m Royal barrel to boost the weapon’s bullet velocity, recoil control, and accuracy, while also providing you with sound suppression.

Next, we’ll equip the Queen’s Model 11 BH stock, m1941 Hand Stop underbarrel, and Polymer Grip to bring the weapon’s recoil under control, allowing for greater precision. You can then use the SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x optic to pick off enemies at medium range.

Coming to our choice of ammo, we went with the 6.5 Sakura 40 Round Mags to ensure that the weapon has plenty of ammo to eliminate multiple opponents, and the Lengthened ammo type ensures maximum bullet velocity.

The Tight Grip Perk will help you hit your shots, while Fully Loaded ensures you have full ammo when you grab your loadout.

Best Bren Perks and equipment

E.O.D Perk in Warzone Pacific
  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal Equipment: Semtex
  • Tactical Equipment: Stim

Enemies will frequently throw Grenades and Thermites your way during combat, so we recommend equipping E.O.D as your first Perk to help you tank explosive damage.

It’s best to pair this weapon with a close-range SMG, like the Owen Gun, so pick Overkill to select two primary weapons. Amped will allow you to swap between your two weapons quicker during different combat situations.

In terms of equipment, you should keep a Semtex as your Lethal in order to deal explosive damage to multiple foes, and the Stim tactical will give you a health boost when you find yourself overwhelmed.

How to unlock the Bren in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific

bren lmg

To unlock the Bren, you must reach Level 53 in Vanguard and Warzone Pacific. Since this is just two levels off the max, it will take some serious grinding to get there.

Having the Bren available to you in Vanguard to put together this loadout is quite useful, be sure to hop into some games and play extremely well until you reach the required level.

Best alternatives to the Bren in Vanguard

The Bren is a slow-firing, heavy LMG, so if you’re looking for something faster then we recommend trying out the Automaton in Warzone Pacific, as its rate of fire will offer a drastic change from the Bren.
