Warzone devs tease possible Modern Warfare CX-9 SMG debut
The unreleased Modern Warfare CX-9 SMG has been a major desire for Warzone players, and the Season 4 Reloaded patch notes look to be pointing towards a future where this weapon is finally added to the Call of Duty battle royale.
The RAAL LMG and CX-9 SMG were two Modern Warfare weapons that were secretly added to Warzone in the past before being removed and never heard from again in the battle royale or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
These weapons have been spotted in Modern Warfare recently, and their blueprints were recently found in the game’s files, so there is no doubt that they are ready to be added to the games. The only question is if they ever will be added.
However, a recent tease from Raven Software in the Season 4 Reloaded update patch notes looks to have to inject a great deal of hope for players when it comes to the CX-9 SMG making its long-awaited debut sometime in the future.
The tease that was included in the update’s patch notes from Raven Software consisted of the following statement:
“We may see a Weapon make its long-awaited debut in Verdansk. 😉”
Now, this statement in itself does not specifically point towards the Modern Warfare CX-9 SMG, but a gameplay video for the new Payload game mode coming in Season 4 Reloaded that was released by Treyarch earlier in the day on July 14 is what makes this statement seem to be talking about the CX-9.
The gameplay video in question showed off gameplay of the new Payload game mode where a character was seen using the unreleased CX-9 SMG fighting enemies. There was no official mention of the character using this unreleased weapon.
With this footage and the tease in the patch notes, it seems Raven Software and Treyarch Studios planned to make a sneaky tease of the weapon’s upcoming arrival.
There is no doubt that there will be plenty of excitement in the community if the Modern Warfare CX-9 is indeed added to Warzone, as players have been waiting a long time to see it finally make its debut.
