Warzone’s Dragunov has often been considered the worst weapon in the game, but Season 5 Reloaded buffs are offering the Sniper a last shot at redemption before Warzone 2.0.

Although Warzone Pacific will still be around once Warzone 2 launches on November 16, for many it will likely be the game’s final months as they move on to the next battle royale experience.

The devs have not shied away from delivering exciting new content throughout the final stages, as the Season 5 Reloaded update delivered plenty of meta-changing buffs and nerfs to the game.

In a strange twist of fate, one of Warzone’s least popular weapons is finally getting a chance to shine after being considered the worst weapon in the game from the very start way back in Verdansk.

Thanks to Warzone expert Metaphor, players got a first-hand look at what the Sniper is capable of after major buffs to its damage range, max damage, minimum damage, and torso damage multiplier.

Despite the buffs, Metaphor is honest about the fact that “the Dragunov is not an easy weapon to use.” It’s still a difficult weapon to control, but in Season 5 Reloaded it finally has the power to easily take out targets.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: 660mm Extended Barrel
  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Stock: FTAC Stalker-Scout
  • Magazine: 15 Round Mags

The Dragunov is not a bolt action rifle, which means players can fire off shots in quick succession. For this reason, the 15 Round Mags are a necessity as you look to quickly take out your opponents.

The remaining attachments will further increase the weapon’s damage range following the buffs. Thanks to the Monolithic Suppressor and 660mm Extended Barrel, Metaphor admits “I did stuff in this gameplay that I didn’t even think was possible with this gun.”

If you’ve never dabbled with the Dragunov, now is the perfect time to test out the weapon as it finally receives its time in the spotlight before Warzone 2 arrives.
