Festive Fervor Holiday event

Season 1 will bring many changes to Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, and the devs are getting fans into the holiday spirit with the Festive Fervor event. Here’s everything you need to know about it, including the start date.

The Warzone Season 1 roadmap has highlighted many of the major changes that will be coming to the Vanguard and Warzone Pacific. This includes the brand-new Caldera map getting a holiday-themed update.

A new seasonal event known as Festive Fervor will help players get into the holiday spirit with brand-new Operator skins, activities, and other changes. We’ll go over everything that’s been revealed about it so far.

Here’s what you need to know about Vanguard and Warzone’s Festive Fervor event.

Festive Fervor event start date

Festive Fervor event roadmap

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific players will be able to fully enjoy this Holiday event as of December 17. Although, Festive Fervor will officially begin on December 16, following an update to Vanguard on December 15 at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET / 5 AM GMT, and an update to Warzone Pacific on December 16 at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET / 5 AM GMT.

We’ll keep checking for any developments and will be sure to update this article once we learn more about when the event will come to an end. As of now it looks slated to last up to the new year.

Vanguard Multiplayer Festive Fervor Holiday modes

Festive Fervor game modes

A major breath of fresh air is making its way to Vanguard Multiplayer. Thanks to Festive Fervor, players will have access to a variety of new modes. These will surely freshen things up for players who were getting accustomed to the Vanguard experience. Here are the modes to expect.

Armageddon Mode

Also known as Drop Zone in previous Call of Duty titles, this twist on Team Deathmatch brings enough Killstreak Care Packages to stuff a whole chimney.

At the start of a match, both teams will fight for control of a marked area somewhere on the map, where Care Packages will drop in on a set timer until a specific number of them are collected. At that point, the zone rotates to a new area.

Unlike previous iterations of Drop Zone, points are only scored through kills, with bonus points being awarded with kills earned via Killstreaks. That makes ripping open those presents your squad’s main key to victory, so lock down those zones and start reaping those rewards.

Elf Team Six

Elf team six game mode

Outside of that limited-time mode, Operators can also earn Killstreaks through seeking and destroying the elite Elf Team Six.

Hidden around Vanguard’s Multiplayer maps, Elf Team Six are ready to roast Operators like chestnuts on an open fire if they aren’t found before they disappear.

Operators who take down these Elf Team Six members will earn match score and Killstreak progress, a small gift that could help give your enemies something far worse than coal in their stockings.

Krampus

Krampus Vanguard

While Elf Team Six can help the nice Operators achieve victory, there is something else in store for the ones who act naughty and don’t play the objective in respawn-enabled game modes, or who camp in Team Deathmatch.

The folk horror figure Krampus is coming to Vanguard, appearing during Multiplayer matches and targeting whoever has the least impressive objective score, such as a pathetic Hardpoint time or a disgracefully low number of Domination captures.

If you’re warned of Krampus’s presence, then good luck: he won’t hesitate to eliminate his target with an absolutely devastating (and humiliating) Finishing Move, although you might be able to defeat him before he delivers that powerful attack…

Cosmetic changes coming to Vanguard and Zombies

During Festive Fervor, players will trade in Shipment for Shipmas, “a winter wonderland of chaos blanketed in snow and, by the end of the match, whatever remains of those soon-to-be-smashed shipping containers.

Expect some subtle seasonal visuals in-game modes like Domination and Hardpoint, as well as more holiday overhauls to places like the Gunbench and the wintery home base of Stalingrad in Zombies’ “Der Anfang.”

A free gift for all Vanguard owners

Free gift for vanguard owners festive fervor

Anyone who owns Vanguard or purchases the game prior to December 31 will receive 10 Battler Pass Tier Skips for Season One, 10% Global Player, Weapon, and Battle Pass XP Boost During Season One, and 24 Vanguard Tiers of the Season Six Battle Pass. “If you haven’t already earned them last season, anyone who purchases Vanguard will receive these for free.”

This is the devs’ way of saying thank you to players who have been supporting Vanguard since its November 5 release.

Vanguard Festive Fervor bundles

Yarn Burner Lucas skin

Call of Duty is in the spirit of giving this year with Festive Fervor. Players across Vanguard and Warzone Pacific will have access to a ton of new cosmetics.

“Launching alongside the Festive Fervor update is the Santa’s Slay Bundle, perfect for decking the halls (and your opponents) with Legendary Weapons that have Red-and-Green Tracers, as well as a Finishing Move that makes use of a helpful Elf companion!

And if all that is not enough for the holidays, why not humiliate foes as you win with Lucas in his impressively knitted (ugly) sweater included with his “Yarn Burner” Skin?

Krampus unleashed bundle

During Festive Fervor’s launch window, you can also drape Roland in Krampus’s unholy threads with the Krampus Unleashed Bundle, featuring Roland’s “Vinderblood” Operator Skin.

It also includes a Legendary “Krampusnacht” Marksman Rifle Blueprint that can punch through enemies like Krampus’s claws, as well as a “Reindog Rampage” Finishing Move that might be just as satisfying as that horned demon dealing justice on his own terms.

Secret Santa bundle

You can also give your opponents the ultimate surprise gift with the Secret Santa Bundle, which will become available during the Festive Fervor season. It features two Legendary Weapon Blueprints: one for a pump-action Shotgun and another that turns a Marksman Rifle into a fully automatic beast.

Broken Resolutions bundle

Before Festive Fervor ends and 2022 begins, the Store will introduce the Broken Resolutions Bundle, a nine-item Bundle with two Battle Pass Tier Skips on top of Legendary and Epic Operator, Armory, and Player Profile Pieces.

Of note is a “Pop Bottles” Finishing Move that makes use of a champagne bottle, a sleek “Midnighter” Operator Skin for Beatrice, and a “Cover Charge” Assault Rifle with enough silent firepower to forget those foes by February.

Season’s greetings from Caldera

Festive Fervor Warzone pacific

Holiday-themed content won’t be exclusive to Vanguard, as Rebirth Island and Caldera will display their own festive celebrations.

Caldera Receives Festive Fir Trees with Presents for All!

Caldera’s massive list of vegetation will continue to grow as players will get the chance to battle amongst Festive Fir Trees. “Marked on the Tac Map with a special tree icon, these temporary landmarks will be placed at specific points of interest across the island.

Any squad that stays within the Fir Tree’s zone — under the tree and around it — for a short period of time will cause several Supply Boxes to magically appear, including special Holiday Crates that could contain Legendary items for that match, limited-time rewards, or even some coal for those Operators on the naughty list.”

Krampus — The Terror of the Isles with Plenty of “Gifts” for Festive Fervor

Players who receive coal from Holiday Crates will want to keep an eye out for Krampus. He’ll be spending his holidays on Caldera and Rebirth Island, where he hunts for sport. “While his choice of target is more random here than in Vanguard, he does tend to hunt down those who received coal from the Holiday Crates.

This mythical creature will take three minutes to complete his hunt before he disappears for his next target, or he’ll be killed and give out a special permanent reward for the squad that faces his wrath.”

Elf and Seek — The Gnomes Take Over the Islands

Krampus won’t be the only creature to make an appearance across Caldera and Rebirth Island. Finding and destroying these holiday gnomes will result in receiving special rewards such as double XP tokens.

Vanguard players want simple QoL change to improve HUD

Vanguard players are asking for a quality of life change to help better understand what weapon they are picking up and using.

Vanguard players are calling for the devs to make one simple change to the way the HUD works in order to make it easier to know which weapon they are holding.

Since the mid-season update, players have been asking the devs for a lot of changes and fixes for Vanguard. As well as fixes for bugs, such as the scam MP40 blueprint and demon gun glitch, players have also been asking for smaller, quality of life changes.

In general, these changes are small and don’t really impact gameplay. However, they do make the experience much smoother for players. The latest QoL change players want is to do with Vanguard’s HUD.

vanguard blueprints

Reddit user masterchiefs put a post up on the Vanguard subreddit mentioning the QoL change they want to see in Vanguard, which players in the community clearly agree with as the post has over 300 upvotes at the time of writing this article.

The post is titled: “Show the gun’s name on the HUD, not blueprint name!” Clearly, this player would prefer to see the gun’s name on the bottom right of the HUD rather than its blueprint name, which can no doubt be confusing if you aren’t familiar with all the weapons and their blueprints.

Sometimes you may find yourself picking up a weapon that you have no idea about, as the blueprint has made the weapon look different. With no clear indication for what the weapon is, some players would prefer to see the gun’s original name.

As stated in the post, the player feels as if Vanguard should follow the format Black Ops Cold War set out, the one “that shows the name of the gun all the time, not a white sketch, not the blueprint’s name that disappears after 1 second, just the name of the gun, that’s it.”

Some of the comments under the post also agree, as well as bringing up another issue about the alphabetical code-names for the game’s weapons: “This s*** is annoying, along with naming guns after the phonetic alphabet. Just use the guns name? I’m almost 100% certain they did this to confuse or trick people into spending money somehow.”

Hopefully, the devs can come to realize how many players wish for this small QoL change and bring it to the game. For now, check out the dev’s response to player frustrations.

CoD Points price: How to buy, spend & do they carry over

CoD Points are the official currency of Call of Duty. Check out CoD Point prices, where to buy them, and whether they transfer between games.

Cod points Vanguard warzone

Activision’s in-game currency lets players purchase cosmetics for their characters, and we’ve got everything you need to know about CoD Points prices, how to buy them, and all the items you can spend them on.

Call of Duty offers a huge palette of extra goodies you can add to your game, requiring players to spend their own currency named CoD Points to acquire them.

CoD Points can be purchased in-game using the menu systems in games like Vanguard or Warzone or through console marketplaces like the PS Store or Xbox Marketplace.

The gaming landscape has changed over the years with the incorporation of microtransactions and live-gaming services. Many games offer extra content – with cosmetics being a big proponent of this. With Vanguard and Warzone offering special Attack on Titan and Christmas skins as well as unique weapon Blueprints for popular weapons, it becomes easy to see why players would want to spend CoD Points.

Here are the different prices for the various CoD Points bundles:

  • 200 CoD Points: $1.99 / £1.79

How to buy COD Points

You can be very flexible with how you buy COD Points as there are a few different ways to do so. To make sure you’re buying them for the right platform, just double-check with our guide on transferring COD Points across platforms.

There are four ways you can buy COD Points:

  • PC players can purchase CoD Points on the Battle.net website
  • PS4 & PS5 players can purchase CoD Points in the PS Store on their console, or on the PlayStation website
  • Xbox Series X, Series S, or One players can buy CoD Points on the Xbox Marketplace on their console, or the official Microsoft Store website
  • Select physical retailers stock vouchers and gift cards with a code that players can redeem for CoD Points.

Where to spend CoD Points

Spending your CoD Points is incredibly easy, with players able to purchase cosmetic bundles and Blueprints in the in-game store.

The stores are available in Vanguard, Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare, so you can kit out your character regardless of your preferred title.

Do CoD Points carry over across games?

The good news is that your CoD Points will transfer across your Call of Duty games, as they are linked to your Activision account.

Players who still have CoD Points in their account from Black Ops Cold War don’t need to worry, as they will automatically be in your account when turning to Vanguard.

What can I buy with COD Points?

Call of Duty’s currency is used to primarily buy two things: the Battle Pass for the current season and Bundles containing a variety of items.

Battle Pass

Vanguard Season 1 Battle Pass

A Battle Pass is a paid Tier system that allows regular players to earn dozens of extra rewards and cosmetics for essentially playing the game.

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific are currently in Season 1 at the moment. Both titles are currently running in tandem with each other and share the same Battle Pass.

It features 100 Tiers for players to smash their way through the course of Season 1, and if players are committed enough, they can actually earn enough CoD Points, through leveling up the pass, to get the next one for free.

You can buy the Vanguard & Warzone Season 1 Battle Pass via a couple of different methods:

Bundles

Attack on Titan bundle CoD

The other main content you can buy is a wide range of Bundles and Operator Bundles. These special bundles vary in price, and each comes with its own unique items.

The collectibles you can expect to find are Calling Cards, Emblems, Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, Weapon Charms, and more.

“Scam” Vanguard MP40 Blueprint gives players a completely different gun

Players are calling the new Rune MP40 Blueprint a “scam” after the weapon fails to load into Vanguard Multiplayer matches.

Published

on

MP40 Rune Blueprint Vanguard

For the second time in Vanguard, an MP40 weapon Blueprint is failing to appear in-game as advertised, leading to outrage for anyone who purchased the Graveyard Shift bundle.

Thanks to an incredibly unique design, Vanguard players were eager to get their hands on the Rune MP40 blueprint that is a part of the Graveyard Shift bundle. The Call of Duty developers deserve credit for such a detailed and eyecatching design.

Unfortunately, the Rune MP40 blueprint is completely broken and does not spawn in as the correct weapon in Vanguard leaving players who purchased the bundle for 2400 CoD points furious with the outcome.

MP40 Rune Blueprint

Players who equip the Rune MP40 Blueprint to one of their classes will not be able to use the weapon in Multiplayer. Instead, the weapon will spawn in as the STG44.

Players can’t help but feel “scammed” after the blueprint doesn’t even render in Vanguard Multiplayer matches. The clip below showcases the strange shapeshifting weapon blueprint as it continuously turns into the STG44.

As you can see in the video, no matter the amount of times the player selects the Rune Blueprint, it reverts to the STG44 in Vanguard.

The fact that the weapon changes into an entirely different one is baffling but players have found a quick fix to temporarily alleviate the issue.

How to fix broken MP40 Rune Blueprint

Vanguard Rune Blueprint MP40

There’s no doubt that Sledgehammer will work on alleviating this issue but in the meantime, players can fix the Blueprint by removing certain attachments. ElvisCOD took to Twitter to detail the required steps.

Removing the Removed Stock attachment will stop the MP40 Blueprint from turning into the STG44. Furthermore for the dismemberment animations to work players will have to equip the Lengthened ammo type and remove the magazine.

Of course, forcing players to make these attachment changes is frustrating for those who paid for the bundle and a permanent fix should be a top priority for Sledgehammer Games.

Warzone players will be pleased to hear that this issue has not made its way to the battle royale as the Blueprint works perfectly in Warzone and Zombies.
