Ghosts of Verdansk is the themed mode that celebrates Halloween in Call of Duty: Warzone. The devs have released a small update that provides some quality of life adjustments to the mode – particularly with its Fear Meter and ghosts.

Despite only being here for a small amount of time, Raven Software has felt it important that they alter some of the settings in Warzone’s Ghosts of Verdansk game mode with a fresh update.

Plenty of players are getting stuck into the new LTM to enjoy and contribute to the 2021 Halloween season, but there are one or two areas that Raven has felt the need to deal with early in the game mode’s lifecycle.

A Tweet from the official Raven Software account has detailed all the different changes that players can expect in Warzone’s Ghosts of Verdansk limited-time mode for The Haunting event.

Many of these changes were based on community feedback about the Ghosts of Verdansk game mode, so it is nice to see the Warzone developers take this feedback and use it to improve the Ghosts of Verdansk limited-time mode.

Here are the changes in full:

  • Ghosts can now drop ammo when killed
  • Souls will be removed when too far out in the gas
  • Passive Fear gain has been reduced
  • Increased Fear reduction when killing Ghosts and humans

The Fear mechanic is one of the mode’s most important features as it can cause jumpscares and obscure the player’s screen.

But there has been the complaint on social media and Reddit that it’s difficult to reduce the Fear mechanic, even when using the Sacred Grounds.

This update should hopefully alleviate some of those troubles and make Ghosts of Verdansk even more enjoyable for players for the rest of the time it is in the Call of Duty battle royale’s Halloween season.
