Warzone glitch breaks reloading for Black Ops Cold War guns

Black Ops Cold War weapons have a frustrating mechanic in Warzone that’s cancelling players’ reloads while moving.

Published

on

Certain Black Ops Cold War weapons have been dominating in Warzone, but a major issue with reloading could lead to players choosing Modern Warfare weapons instead.

In Cold War, you can’t reload your weapons while sprinting. Depending on your settings, you’ll either slow down to a walk while changing mags, or sprinting will cancel your reload. The Gung-Ho Perk allows you to move at full speed while swapping magazines.

Gung-Ho isn’t in Warzone because it didn’t need to be – until now. Modern Warfare’s engine, which includes Warzone, allows you to sprint while reloading your weapons. Frustratingly, Cold War’s movement system has carried over with its weapons to the battle royale.

Reloading Broken in Warzone

If while using a Cold War weapon in Warzone your reload hasn’t worked, a Reddit user has discovered the reason.

When the magazine is empty, while using Modern Warfare weapons in Warzone, you can Tactical Sprint before your character has fully finished the reload. This will cancel the animation, but the mag will still be inserted.

However, with Cold War weapons you need to fully wait until the reload has finished. This means that while using Cold War’s guns, your movement and reload speed will be slower across the board.

After playing on Modern Warfare’s engine for over a year, this is extremely hard to adjust to. This will lead many players to stop using Cold War weapons in their loadouts. Unfortunately, BOCW’s guns are ground loot too, so they are unavoidable.

There are a couple of things Raven Software, who have taken over the development of Warzone, can do to fix this. The obvious is having Cold War’s weapons behave the same as their Modern Warfare counterparts. Or, they could add the ‘Sprint Cancels Reload’ setting to Warzone, allowing players to choose how their Operator behaves.

In the meantime, be wary of sprinting to cancel reloads while using Black Ops Cold War weapons in Warzone, and wait for the animation to complete.

How to fix Call of Duty: Warzone Dev Error 6034

If ‘Dev Error 6034’ is preventing you from playing Warzone, follow this simple guide to drop back into Verdansk in no time.

While Warzone Season 1 has seen a plethora of game-breaking exploits and bugs, one issue is preventing PC gamers from playing the battle royale altogether. Here’s how to fix the Dev Error 6034 issue.

Black Ops Cold War x Warzone Season 1 got off to a shaky start with the overpowered DMR 14, pay-to-win MAC-10 blueprint, as well as invisibility exploits and the return of stim glitches. These problems have now been fixed, but further issues have plagued CoD fans.

Xbox players saw the return of the ‘Blackout Trial Has Ended‘ screen, which Charlie Intel has covered a fix for, but ‘Dev Error 6034’ prevents PC players from playing Warzone and Modern Warfare.

The ‘Dev Error 6034’ bug first appeared in Modern Warfare shortly after launch, and because Warzone is connected to MW, battle royale players have encountered it too. If this frustrating error is preventing you from dropping into Verdansk, here’s how to fix it.

How to fix Dev Error 6034

It’s believed that Dev Error 6034 happens when Modern Warfare files become corrupted or unreadable. It sounds scary, but the fix is really quite simple.

CoD Warzone gameplay

A clean reinstall of the game is known to fix the issue, but there’s a much quicker solution. What you have to do is locate specific files in the Modern Warfare folder, delete them, then run a Scan and Repair which will replace the files with the correct versions.

The problem with PC gaming is solving errors like this can be daunting; nobody wants to go into the guts of their game and mess with files. Don’t worry, to make this as stress-free as possible, follow our simple walkthrough below.

  1. Open the Modern Warfare or Warzone installation folder
  2. Locate and delete the following files:
  • .patch.result
  • .product
  • vivoxsdk_x64.dll
  • Launcher.db
  • Modern Warfare Launcher.exe

After these files have been deleted, open Battle.net and run Scan and Repair on Modern Warfare/Warzone. It can be found through the ‘Options’ dropdown when the game is selected. These deleted files will now be replaced with working ones, and you can play Warzone again.

To prevent this problem from returning, make sure that Warzone downloads are uninterrupted. Leave your PC on until the download is complete, and avoid pausing and resuming the download when possible.

JGOD reveals the best gun barrels in Warzone

The latest video by COD YouTuber ‘JGOD’ revealed the best barrels to equip in Warzone to improve bullet velocity.

JGOD talks about the best Warzone barrels

Call of Duty YouTuber ‘JGOD’ uploaded a video in which he studied how each barrel affects the bullet velocity of most primary Black Ops Cold War weapons in Warzone and revealed the best ones to equip.

Call of Duty: Warzone doesn’t inform you of how much each attachment that you equip will affect your weapon. Unlike Black Ops Cold War; you won’t know the exact stats and percentages, so you’ll have to test your loadout in battle.

After a bit of experimenting, CoD YouTuber JGOD has discovered the effects of certain attachments on his guns. He made a new video, in which he went over how equipping different barrels in Warzone can affect your bullet velocity.

Barrels in Warzone

What are the best gun barrels in Warzone?

You have a much better chance of killing your targets if your bullets travel quickly. Plus, the speed of your bullet will help you determine how much of a lead time you should put in front of a moving target.

That is why it’s worth equipping certain attachments that will improve your bullet velocity before running out into combat. JGOD tried out all his primary Black Ops Cold War weapons in Warzone for the video, with shotguns being the exception.

He tried out every barrel in the game and checked the time taken for each shot to reach its target. He then recorded the results and discovered that barrels shared by different weapons affect each one differently.

This is also true for weapons within the same class since the Calvary barrel can greatly improve the bullet velocity on LMGs while having no real effect when equipping it on Assault Rifles.

His experimentation found that the best improvement to bullet velocity comes from equipping the Ranger barrel on ARs, the Calvary barrel on LMGs, the Titanium barrel on Tac Rifles, and the Reinforced Heavy on SMGs.

That only covers some of the discoveries he made, as his video is highly informative. JGOD put in proper effort to collect this data, and you can take a look at the full breakdown of his results here.

5 best AR loadouts for Warzone Season 1

Assault Rifles are great all-rounders in CoD Warzone, so here are the top AR’s to bring to Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Published

on

Assault Rifles are a staple in Call of Duty. Capable of dealing damage at almost any range, they’re the go-to for the majority of players. They’re especially prominent in Warzone for their versatility, and through the Gunsmith system, you can build them any way you like.

With every season and update, Warzone’s meta shifts. We’ve seen the Grau 5.56 and the Kilo 141 as the best choice, but that’s no longer the case. Now that the controversial DMR 14 has been nerfed, ARs are retaking their place in most players’ loadouts.

Here are the five best Assault Rifles to use in Verdansk and Rebirth Island in Warzone Season 1.

5. M4A1

Warzone M4A1

While never quite being the meta weapon in Warzone, Modern Warfare’s M4A1 has always been a great choice. With minimal recoil and a solid damage output, the M4 has been a viable choice in any META. It’s best suited for mid-range, so it’s best to pair it with a sniper rifle.

Plus, Modern Warfare’s M4 looks great.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier
  • Optic: Corp Combat Holo Sight
  • Grip: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags

4. Krig 6

With decent damage and manageable recoil, the Krig 6 is the best Black Ops Cold War Assault Rifle for medium-long range.

Warzone Krig-6

Players will find similarities with the Kilo 141 when using it, so if you’re looking for a new AR, you can’t go wrong with the Krig.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 19.7″ Ranger
  • Optic: Microflex LED
  • Grip: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd

3. Kilo 141

The Kilo 141 was the meta weapon in Modern Warfare Season 5 and although it has received a nerf, it remains one of the best weapons in Warzone Season 1.

Although it’s a little bit more bouncy than you may remember, it is still one of the strongest ARs in Warzone.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Singuard Arms 19.8″ Prowler
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Grip: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags

2. FFAR

Warzone FFAR

Some Warzone players prefer a fast-firing Assault Rifle to pair with a sniper rifle, and the FFAR is the perfect choice.

With a rapid fire rate, this rifle will melt a player’s armor as fast as any SMG. It has some kick so use it in close-medium range and you’ll be using one of Warzone’s best weapons.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 21.2″ Ranger
  • Grip: Bruiser Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 50 Rnd
  • Rear Grip: SASR Jungle Grip

1. CR-56 AMAX

While the Kilo 141 was the meta, the CR-56 AMAX silently dominated. Now both the Kilo and DMR have been taken off their pedestals, the AMAX has climbed to the top.

Modern Warfare AMAX in-game

With an easy to learn recoil pattern and high damage, the AMAX is the best choice for any player in any playstyle. If you can find a surface to mount it on, you’ll be wiping teams in the blink of an eye.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Grip: 45 Round Mags
  • Ammunition: 45 Round Mags

Bring any of these ARs into Verdansk and Rebirth Island in Warzone Season 1, and you’ll find yourself using some of the best weapons in Call of Duty’s Battle Royale.
