Warzone Heroes vs Villains event start and end date
The Heroes vs Villains event went live alongside the Warzone Season 5 update on August 24, and was available right away.
It is due to run for the first three weeks of the season, ending on Wednesday, September 14. Hopefully, this gives players plenty of time to square off against the classic CoD villains and unlock of all the rewards.
Warzone Heroes vs Villains event gameplay
The Heroes vs Villains event will take over all of Warzone Season 5, where players must pick whether they want to support the Heroes or Villains. During this event, players can earn free rewards such as Calling Cards and Blueprints.
Faction Tokens appear in every mode, players must use these to help decide which team will come out on top. You have the option of either collecting Hero or Villain Tokens, but you can’t choose both.
Warzone Faction Tokens explained
When playing any Warzone Pacific game mode during the Heroes vs Villains event, players can collect Faction Tokens by eliminating opponents and scavenging Supply Boxes.
You can also earn these by defusing or detonating bombs in Operation Last Call. These Tokens will offer a discount on Faction Bundles at Buy Stations, and purchasing them will offer a discount on any other item from the Buy Station.
Details are sparse at the moment, but it sounds like these Faction Bundles will act like Donation Boards in Fortnite, where players spend cash to vote on an item they want to return. In Warzone, it sounds like players will be voting for whether they want the Heroes or Villains to win by the end of the event.
Warzone Heroes vs Villains event free rewards
At the end of the Heroes vs Villains Warzone event, every player will be awarded a unique Weapon Blueprint based on the winning team — Heroes or Villains. Players in the winning faction will also receive Battle Pass Tier Skips.
That’s not all though, as like any other Warzone event there are free cosmetics to earn by collecting points. Here’s every reward on offer as well as the points needed to unlock them:
- 1,500 points: Earns either the Hero or Villain Insignia emblem
- 15,000 points: Earns the ‘Chop Chop!!’ gesture
- 37,500 points: Earns either the Hero’s Mark or Villains Mark weapon charm
- 75,000 points: ‘Conflict Spike’ weapon blueprint for the Ice Axe melee weapon
- 150,000 points: Earns either the Heroes Hand or Villains Vengeance MP40 blueprint
