Warzone is so broken on Xbox consoles that players can’t even open the game

Warzone Pacific Season 1 breathed new life into Call of Duty’s battle royale, but a constant slew of bugs and glitches have ruined the experience for many. It’s now got so bad that Xbox players can’t even launch the game.

Fed up with Verdansk and a stale meta, Warzone players were desperate for the game to finally move to Caldera and introduce all of Vanguard’s weapons. However, it’s been far from smooth sailing, as the update broke Modern Warfare and introduced some of the most game-breaking glitches Warzone has ever seen.

Warzone’s developers have confirmed they’re working hard to get the game back on track, but for Xbox players, change can’t come soon enough. A recent update has completely locked some Xbox players out, preventing them from even launching the game.

Unfortunately, Xbox players appear to have got the short end of the stick with Warzone’s Pacific update. There’s a bug forcing Xbox players to have a Gold Subscription to play, they’ve lost access to the 120 FPS mode, and now, they can’t even launch the game.

Xbox players are reporting that they’ve been trapped in an endless loop of restarts when trying to launch Warzone. Reddit user Darknesgamer36 shows that after getting through the ‘Connecting to Xbox Live’ screen, Warzone reboots itself and they need to go through it again and again.

Darknesgamer36 isn’t alone, with several players saying they’ve been getting the exact same issue. Ramuh-DH said it happens to “nearly everyone on xbox consoles.”

Other Xbox players have reported different, but equally frustrating, issues. They’ve said the game constantly crashes, their guns go invisible, and they can’t join their friends.

One user said that it took “literally 56 minutes to get in one game,” and if they went back to the main menu at any point, the problem returned. Another user said that whenever they tried to queue into a match, “it would kick whoever wasn’t host and restarted the game every time.”

There appears to be a temporary solution, though: don’t touch the Xbox button on the controller while Warzone is open. Warzone devs have actually acknowledged this on their Trello board, saying they’re investigating an issue where “pressing the Xbox home button twice while in-game may cause instability.”

But, this likely won’t help those players who can’t even launch Warzone in the first place. Raven have several cards for Xbox issues on their Trello board, so hopefully, Xbox players will have the same experience as everyone else soon.
