Raven Software is pushing a new update live for Call of Duty: warzone, and it delivers the promised MG 82 nerf for the dominating Season 4 weapon.

Season 4 brought the new MG 82 LMG to the world of Call of Duty: Warzone, and it quickly showed itself to be one of the most powerful weapons to ever be in the game.

The dominating nature of the MG 82 LMG led to a large majority of the Warzone community calling for it to be significantly nerfed.

Raven Software promised that it would apply a nerf to this Season 4 weapon, and it delivered with the MG 82 LMG being nerfed in the Warzone June 22 update patch notes.

GAMEPLAY

  • Some thoughts on Perks…
    • We are exploring all avenues in terms of changes to provide ‘fair’  and ‘reactable’ counterplay options to Dead Silence. A decision like this must be made carefully especially considering how it may destabilize other aspects of the game. We cannot promise anything at this moment but as we close in on an appropriate solution, we will share more details. Sit tight.

WEAPONS

  • Light Machine Guns
    • MG 82 (BOCW)
      • Maximum Damage decreased from 30 to 29
      • Minimum Damage decreased from 28 to 27
      • Maximum Damage range decreased by 20%
      • Headshot multiplier decreased from 1.3 to 1.2
      • Upper Chest multiplier decreased from 1.1 to 1
      • Extremities multiplier decreased from 1 to .9
      • Vertical and Horizontal Recoil increased
      • We had envisioned the MG 82 (BOCW) as a short to mid-range Light Machine Gun given its relatively fast handling, mobility, and rate of fire. However, it also retained many powerful LMG traits like damage profile, bullet velocity, and magazine size all while having negligible recoil. These factors in combination created one of the most dominant weapons to land in Verdansk. Do not be deceived by the magnitude of these changes. The damage per magazine and rate of fire is still top tier so we expect the MG 82 to remain viable.
  • Submachine Guns
    • Nail Gun (BOCW)
      • We will be keeping a close eye on the Nail Gun (BOCW). We feel it kills about a bullet faster than we would like. With extremely low rate of fire Weapons, they can be on a razor’s edge of balance wherein missing a single shot can turn an incredibly fast Time to Kill into one of the slowest in its class. This is not the case with the Nail Gun (BOCW) now, but if it required an additional bullet to kill and nothing else changed, it likely would be. So, we may push and pull on some of its functionality to ensure that it fulfills its role as a highly mobile, close range, full-auto dominator that can rival shotgun TTKs but rapidly wanes in efficacy the further enemies are from you. They are just nails after all.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue that was causing some Players to have to restart the game in order to unlock a gifted Battle Pass.
  • Fixed an issue causing tier skips to not apply properly when receiving a gifted Battle Pass Bundle.
  • Fixed a locked control room door in Salt Mine that was killing Players instantly upon contact.
  • Fixed an issue causing Players to lose control of their Operator after walking through a Red Door if another Player had previously died while going through it.
  • Fixed an issue where using some QBZ-83 (BOCW) Blueprints would cause Players to crash.

Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 6 is set to make way for Vanguard Season 1, here’s everything we know about when it will happen.

Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War thumb

Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 6 is beginning to wind down, with Call of Duty: Vanguard on the horizon. We break down when the final BOCW and Warzone season ends, and the first Vanguard chapter starts.

Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 6 is going out with a bang thanks to its Halloween-themed event.

The patch notes for The Haunting have confirmed that there will be no Season 6 Reloaded, which have been commonplace over in recent months.

Now that we know that Verdansk’s final season won’t be Reloaded, when will Season 6 end and Vanguard Season 1 start?

Cold War & Warzone Season 6 end date

warzone and cold war season 6

The sixth season of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone is due to end on Thursday, December 2, 2021.

Season 5 ended on October 7, the first Thursday of the month, and it appears that Season 6 will follow the same while sticking roughly to the two-month structure that Raven and Treyarch used previously.

As mentioned earlier, there will be no Reloaded update this time around in order to make way for the long-awaited arrival of Vanguard integration into Warzone.

This isn’t to say that Black Ops Cold War will be forgotten, as Modern Warfare has still received content updates in the last year.

Vanguard Season 1 start date

Call of Duty: Vanguard cast

We’re expecting Season 1 of Vanguard, both in the standalone game and Warzone, to kick off in early December.

Cold War Season 6 ends on December 2, 2021, but there could be some transition time between the two like there was between Modern Warfare Season 6 and BOCW Season 1.

Vanguard will have been out nearly by this point, making it the ideal time to bring in the new Warzone map and WW2 weapons set to drop with the first season, as well as the long-awaited introduction of anti-cheat.

We’re still awaiting official confirmation on when Vanguard Season 1 will begin, so be sure to check back here for future updates.

Horrifying Warzone The Haunting bug turns player into 3rd-person monstrosity

A creepy new Warzone Halloween bug turned an Operator into a third-person monster with a mangled body and arms drooping to the side.

Warzone Ghost of War skin

Warzone’s The Haunting Halloween event is here, and one player got more than they bargained for after a new bug turned their character into a deformed third-person monstrosity.

Warzone’s Haunting event is here, bringing horror movie icon Ghostface to a nighttime version of Verdansk. There’s plenty to be scared of as The Haunting event has sought to make Warzone even more intense and scary, with Scream’s Ghostface whispering in your ear, jumpscares in chests, and your Fear Meter ever rising.

But the scares ramped up even more as a player was hit with a presumably unintentional new bug that brought body horror to Verdansk.

Warzone the haunting event gameplay

‘chizel3d’ was playing the new Ghosts of Verdansk LTM and parachuted into Hospital. But, before they could land, the game switched to third-person, giving a full view of the horrors before them.

They were shocked and confused to see that their Operator was almost curled up inside themself, with their arms drooping down the sides and their gear bunched up on their back like a cursed Quasimodo.

Hovering above the ground, they ran around Hospital, picking up loot as they went. But with the distorted arms hanging down by the sides, chizel3d wasn’t able to pick up or fire any weapons.

Players in the replies were equally as shocked, with one user saying it’s “creepier than anything in the event so far.” chizel3d’s tweet was in reply to streamer and Warzone pro IceManIsaac, who said, “I’m seeing this in my nightmares tonight.”

However, chizel3d did fix the horrifying bug later by climbing on a ladder. Their POV immediately switched back to regular first-person and stayed that way for the rest of the game.

It’s unclear how widespread this issue is, as Raven Software hasn’t responded on their Trello Board or Twitter account.

There is no doubt that players will see many others using the Plot Twist blueprint heading into the future of the Call of Duty battle royale game. A menacing force like Ghostface wouldn’t use a blueprint that couldn’t take down all of his enemies, so it should no doubt dominate all of your future opponents.
