Iron Trials quickly became a fan-favorite Warzone mode, and a dataminer claims to have found evidence that the mode will arrive in Rebirth Island in Season 2.

Iron Trials is a more competitive version of Warzone, with a much higher time-to-kill, tougher Gulag, more expensive Buy Stations, and no free loadout drops. Many preferred the mode and wished that it remained a permanent fixture.

Unfortunately, we haven’t seen it since before the Warzone Pacific Season 1 update, but a new leak claims that it will return with a twist. According to a dataminer, Iron Trials is set to return on Rebirth Island in Season 2.

Call of Duty dataminer ‘Reality’ recently leaked that a Season 2 event will include Bomber planes, Redeploy Balloons, secret bunkers, and gas weapons. Now, following Warzone’s February 3 update that reverted the loadout drop delay, they claim to have discovered even more about Warzone Pacific Season 2.

Reality posted an image featuring strings that were reportedly added to Warzone’s game files after the update, revealing items such as a “Portable Buy Station,” a ton of new challenges, and a description of the Bomber.

But what players will be most interested to see is that one of the lines reads: “MP_CHYRON/ATLANTIS_IRON_TRIALS”: Rebirth Iron Trials.

Rebirth Island Iron Trials has also been mentioned by another leaker, TheGhostOfHope, who is known to have been reliable in the past.

This could mean that the fan-favorite Iron Trials game mode is making its way to Warzone’s smaller map in Season 2. But how this mode would play out remains to be seen; it could have Rebirth’s Resurgence mechanics or be more like the traditional battle royale.

Of course, this is just a leak for now. There’s no guarantee that Rebirth Island Iron Trials will arrive in Warzone Season 2 – or at all for that matter. Equippable helmets have been found in the game files before, as well as a version of the G3 Assault Rifle – and neither have arrived in the game.

But with Iron Trials’ popularity, it will likely return to the game in one form or another. Raven Software and Sledgehammer should be revealing the Season 2 roadmap soon, so we’ll know much more about the upcoming content over the next couple of weeks.
