Warzone leak reveals planes could arrive with Season 4 Reloaded’s ‘Payload’ mode
A Call of Duty data miner has discovered that planes could be coming to Warzone with the Season 4 Reloaded update, and a new controller setting option appears to support the claim.
Warzone’s Season 4 Reloaded update is almost here, likely bringing more significant weapon balance updates, the Sentry Gun, the Blueprint Blitz event, and a new 20v20 game mode – Payload.
However, the new content doesn’t appear to be stopping there, with data miners discovering a new vehicle class that could be coming to the game with Season 4 Reloaded. A recent leak claims that planes will be coming to Warzone, and a new controller option in the menus appears to support this.
On July 12, Call of Duty leaker ZestyCODLeaks tweeted that while digging through the script file for Payload, they discovered “some interesting file names & script code.” Zesty reported that there are “PLANE spawns for both teams in-game,” but said that “it could also just be A.I. planes.”
With Payload being a new mode unlike any Warzone has seen before, Raven Software could be preparing to add dogfighting, but many were quick to dismiss the leak. Another Call of Duty leaker, CallofDutyHope, said that the planes are probably for Vanguard integration and “are being tested and are accidentally in the files like WZ POIs.”
Call of Duty: Vanguard is reportedly going to drop with a new WW2-themed Warzone map, and leaks claim that it will feature planes, tanks, and other Second World War vehicles. The game files shared by Zesty also include “Allies” and “Axis,” the two opposing factions from the Second World War.
According to players, a new controller setting was added to the game at the start of Season 4. Within the option for “Invert Vertical Look,” players have the option of selecting “Airplanes Only.” This has led to speculation that planes will be making their way to Warzone one way or another.
In the meantime, you can check out everything we know about Call of Duty: Vanguard’s official reveal, which is believed to occur inside Warzone.
