Warzone’s May 4 update has nerfed the Armored Truck vehicle as well as fixed broken weapon XP & Buy Station bugs. More importantly, it also issued buffs and nerfs to several popular weapons. Here are the full Warzone May 4 update patch notes.

Following the major Warzone Season 3 update, the devs have issued yet another update on May 4 that has addressed several ongoing problems including bugs and glitches in the game. In addition, several popular Warzone weapons are receiving buffs and nerfs.

The major weapon balancing changes to take note of are nerfs to certain Cold War ARs, as well as buffs to several Vanguard weapons in an attempt to make them more competitive throughout Warzone Season 3.

Warzone Armored Trucks nerfed

Following the update, Warzone players declared that Armored Trucks were ruining Solos. As a result of the new Sabotage contract, Armored Trucks were running rampant in Warzone.

These massive vehicles were deemed overpowered thanks to the turret and impossible to destroy due to their bulk. This update has not only nerfed the vehicle’s health but also decreased the damage dealt by the turret.

Cold War AR nerfs & Vanguard weapon buffs in Warzone

The Vanguard devs explained their reasoning behind the decision to buff Vanguard weapons and nerf certain Cold War weapons, “Vanguard Weapons have been struggling to perform on par with their peers since they dropped into the Warzone.”

They explain that due to the frequent long-range engagements in Caldera, weapons with low max damage range became ineffective, “Unfortunately for Vanguard Weapons, this was often the case.”

The Cold War AK-47, which many believe to be one of the best weapons in the game, received a nerf to damage range. Alongside the AK-47, the EM2, and XM4 were also nerfed, which could have implications on the Assault Rifle meta.

Vanguard weapons were the big winners of this weapon balancing update. Several Assault Rifles and Submachine Guns like the Automaton, MP40, and Cooper Carbine had their damage range increased, which is sure to make them more powerful weapons.

GAMEPLAY

Adjustments

  • Armored Truck
    • Health
      • Health and Resistances decreased to be in-line but still greater than the Cargo Truck.
    • Turret
      • Damage decreased by 40%.

It’s become clear since its return to the Warzone, that the Armored truck has become a great asset to any team. However, its overwhelming presence has felt oppressive to engage against. We’re bringing it in line with other Vehicles, while still retaining its role as a power-house.

Weapon Adjustments

Vanguard Weapons have been struggling to perform on par with their peers since they dropped into the Warzone. This update is laying the groundwork to resolve that. Engagement distances have only increased since the transition to Caldera. More skirmishes are taking place within minimum damage ranges. As a result of this, Weapons that have low maximum damage ranges or low minimum damage have become largely inviable. Unfortunately for Vanguard Weapons, this was often the case. Below you will find a myriad of changes aimed at injecting some budding competition into the upper echelon of Warzone Weaponry.

Warzone players discover hilarious way to gain XP fast thanks to King Kong’s nuts

Operation Monarch has provided Warzone players with several ways to gain XP, and the latest involving Kong takes big cojones — literally.

Warzone Kong Operation Monarch

If you’re ready to get up close and personal with King Kong, you could snag yourself a ton of free Warzone XP quickly. Be warned though, this hilarious new method involves some monstrous family jewels.

We’ve already revealed that Warzone’s Operation Monarch LTM can be used to level up weapons quickly. However, a new trick discovered by Warzone players seems to provide loads of additional XP despite the questionable method involved.

Operation Monarch and its challenges are set to disappear on May 25, and if you’re brave enough, you’ll only have a few days to test out the method below.

Operators fighting Kong in Warzone Pacific

While Operation Monarch received mixed reviews from the Warzone community, it hasn’t failed to provide laughs and downright wacky moments. Most streamers and top players did not care for the LTM, but most players seem to really enjoy interacting with Kong and Godzilla.

The latest example of this interaction appeared on the Warzone subreddit where a player shows off the reward for showing King Kong some admiration.

The player flies a chopper towards Kong’s giant cojones. This area is also known to be quite dangerous, as most of the time Kong will efficiently dispatch players who get too close.

If you’re lucky enough to sneak through his defenses and reach his blind spot, then you could be rewarded for your trouble. As the player describes in the post, it seems you can earn loads of XP that continue to pile on by “tickling Kong’s sack.”

While there’s no way of knowing if this will occur 100% of the time, or if it is the result of some strange glitch, it’s hard to deny that this is one of the most hilarious methods for gaining XP in Warzone we’ve ever seen.

Crazy Warzone bug makes Snoop Dogg Operator impossible to headshot

Warzone Pacific players have discovered a bizarre glitch that makes it impossible for them to headshot the Snoop Dogg Operator.

Snoop Dogg in Warzone

Snoop Dogg’s arrival shook things up in Warzone Pacific, and players have now come across a strange glitch that makes it impossible to headshot the Operator.

Warzone Pacific players have encountered their fair share of bizarre glitches that have a variety of different effects on their gameplay, such as the infamous demon gun glitch that ruins the textures on weapons.

Now, a strange new bug has popped up in Warzone Pacific Season 3, as reports are coming in of Snoop Dogg’s head disappearing, preventing players from scoring headshots on the Operator.

Snoop Dogg in Warzone

Reddit user ‘ritorhymes’ highlighted this glitch in the Warzone Pacific subreddit, and the clip they posted showed the Snoop Dog Operator’s head disappearing after equipping the Top Break Pistol.

The head vanishes the second the player pulls out the weapon and then returns as soon as they equipped the shield. The bug occurred because the player had the Akimbo attachment equipped on the Top Break pistol.

Many players were amused by the glitch, and one user jokingly stated: “No one can headshot you if you don’t have a head.” Players with the Snoop Dogg Operator skin might take advantage of this to protect themselves from headshots in battle.

Since this glitch can give players an unfair advantage, it’s likely that we’ll see Raven Software patch it up in a future Warzone Pacific update. We’ll be sure to update you as soon as they implement a fix.

Until that happens, Warzone players are finding the situation humorous, as one commenter sarcastically wrote: “Snoop Dogg’s head was actually contracted for a T-Mobile commercial during this time. That’s probably it.”

Warzone 2’s map is “more like Blackout” than Verdansk or Caldera, claims insider

Industry insider Tom Henderson has claimed that Warzone 2’s new map’s layout is more like Blackout than Verdansk or Caldera.

call of duty blackout map

More and more information about Warzone 2 is reportedly being leaked and industry insider Tom Henderson claims that its new map “looks more like Blackout” than it does Warzone’s Verdansk and Caldera.

Although Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s Blackout never reached the same level of popularity as Warzone, it’s still looked back on fondly by its players. Many preferred the more traditional battle royale mechanics, and the map is looked back on particularly fondly.

Unlike Verdansk’s skyscrapers and Caldera’s thick jungles and steep cliffs, Blackout’s map was far more flat and open with distinguishable areas that featured classic maps.

While leaks have indicated that the upcoming Warzone 2’s map will be set in central America, industry insider Tom Henderson claims that the sequel’s map is more like Blackout than Warzone.

Wetworks POI in call of duty blackout

Activision confirmed back in February that they were developing a sequel to Warzone alongside Modern Warfare 2. Very little is known about the next CoD battle royale, but there’s been a ton of leaks surrounding it.

It was initially suggested that Warzone 2’s map would be set in the desert, then insider TheGhostOfHope claimed that the map would be inspired by Medellín, Colombia.

Not long after YouTuber NerosCinema leaked that Warzone 2 would be more like Blackout than the original Warzone was, with new Loadout mechanics and an inventory system, Tom Henderson said the map will resemble Blackout as well.

“The new Warzone 2 map looks more like Blackout than it does Warzone in terms of its layout,” tweeted Henderson on May 18.

With Henderson paying particular attention to its layout, it’s possible we’ll see the map divided up into more distinct regions with the POIs being built around classic maps from the Modern Warfare franchise — High Rise has been leaked for the new map, after all.

We’re likely months out from any official reveal for Warzone 2 and its map, but if these new leaks are to be believed, Blackout fans should have a lot to look forward to with Warzone’s sequel.
