Warzone New Content with Season One: Gulag, Map, More

Published

Activision has peeled back the curtain on what to expect in Season One of Call of Duty: Warzone with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

In a massive blog post, the company has given fans information on the new Warzone map, Rebirth Island, the new Gulag experiences in Warzone, new weapons, and more for players to experience.

Call of Duty: Warzone x Black Ops Cold War Season One will also see the full integration between the games starting on December 16, with progression, Battle Pass, and more carrying between the two titles.

New Map – Rebirth Island

Warzone delivers with a mass of free content including an entirely new battle royale experience: Rebirth Island.

An illicit Soviet base raided and shut down by the CIA in 1968, during which Operator Russell Adler caught and forcefully interrogated the base commander Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin. The facility was rebuilt and recommissioned by Stitch in 1984 with one purpose: the creation and testing of the deadly Nova 6 gas.

Part prison, part chemical bioweapons manufacturing and testing facility, the entire island has dozens of locations to explore including laboratories, barracks, decontamination areas, and a hilltop prison block where unspeakable acts have been perpetrated.

Expect intense, close-quarter action with a similar playstyle to Warzone’s Mini BR mode as Rebirth Island comes to Warzone. Planned playlists include Trios and Quads with a lower player count than in Verdansk, amping up the action and intensity.

To celebrate this new Warzone map experience, expect an intense and rewarding limited-time event offering 16 challenges for those dropping into Rebirth Island for the first time. Earn Calling Cards, Charms, Emblems, Stickers, a special LMG Blueprint “Noxious”, along with additional secrets to uncover!

New Gulag Experiences

New Verdansk Gulag Experience (Launch Week)

It’s time to step out of the Gulag showers as prisoners of Warzone are now dragged to an interrogation room, strapped to a chair, and thrown into an all-new Gulag where the 1v1 battle rules are similar, but the arena is completely different! Watch from the spectator gantry, spraying, punching, or lobbing rocks at adversaries before entering the secret training facility below: A new yet instantly familiar face-off in a Nuketown facsimile built by the Soviets who constructed Black Ops Cold War’s Amerika Town!

The design is a makeshift replica of the original Nuketown map layout with both home interiors and backyard barricaded off, focusing the duel to a confined central arena. Prisoners must now weave through or around the parked bus and faux truck to meet their target or take a risk by climbing up one of the home’s awnings to get solid sightlines across the zone. As usual, the last Operator standing, or the one that grabs the central overtime flag, gets a second chance in Verdansk.

New Rebirth Island Gulag Experience (Launch Week)

There’s a second new Gulag coming to Warzone! Deep below the surface of Rebirth Island’s Prison Block, prisoners are dragged to an ominous new arena during traditional Battle Royale modes. This classified location has a grim history, as certain inmates were experimented on as part of Perseus’ plot to turn the tide of the Cold War.

This new 1v1 experience is centered around the chamber in question, with prisoners of Warzone starting on the end of one of two hallways that run parallel to the center room. Although these pathways offer a quick route across the floor, both of them have a metal detector that will go off whenever an Operator passes through, adding an additional element of strategy to this intense duel for survival. And remember: your fellow prisoners can still lob rocks down into the arena while they wait for their shot at a second chance.

New Mode – Resurgence

New Game Mode: Resurgence (Launch Week)

Think you’re dead? It’s not over yet: This new game mode for Rebirth Island focuses on respawning as a key to victory. Scavenge caches and gear up as normal, hunt down other squads, and focus on dropping every last one of them, otherwise they’re liable to respawn and seek revenge!

·      The Gulag is closed (likely for some deep fumigation).

·      After taking out an enemy, you’ll gain a moment of extreme clarity on where the rest of that enemy team is located. Now finish them!

·      If you’re taken down, there’s no time for a Gulag battle in this game mode! Instead, watch your squadmates and hope they survive for long enough as the Rebirth Countdown reaches zero, after which you automatically drop back into the fray.

New Vehicle: Attack Helicopter (In Season)

Bring death from above to Verdansk and Rebirth Island with the Attack Helicopter, the latest addition to the Warzone vehicle fleet! This airborne menace is built to similar specifications as the regular Helicopter, but with one major exception: Mounted on both of the helicopter’s side rails is a belt-fed minigun that can be controlled by a fellow squad member. Finding an Attack Helicopter is not only a boon for those looking for a rapid travel option, but also raining down dozens of bullets on other squads without needing to use a primary or secondary weapon. Just know that this tiny terror is anything but subtle, especially when both miniguns are in use!

Warzone squad sets new kill record at 143 kills

A new Warzone kill record has been achieved, at an impressive 143 kills. This surpasses Vikkstar’s record of 138 kills.

A new Warzone record has been hit, raising the new quads mode record to a stunning 143 kills.

A new group of players has beat the previous quads kill record of 138 and now take the crown for most kills at 143.

The group, composed of players TheMylesLive, JerK, ScummN, and Stukawaki achieved this gameplay on January 11, 2021. This surpasses the previous record set by Vikkstar, Abezy, Cellium & Priestahh.

The squad, armed with DMR’s and MAC-10’s managed to turn the entire server into swiss cheese, mowing through every player unlucky enough to be in the path of their carnage. One player, Stukawaki even managed to pick up an impressive 48 kills solo, which put him at the top of the scoreboard.

Following Stukawaki’s kills, we have ScummN with 43, TheMylesLive with 27, and JerK with 25.

Considering this record beats the previous kill record set in May 2020, it may be some time until this record is beaten. The DMR meta equipped players to take down enemies in record time, so players will definitely have issues trying to top this record.

Regardless of the meta, this record is very impressive and the gameplay clearly shows the synergy and communication between this well-tuned squad of expert players.

This record has flown a bit under the radar for a few days now, but its official: the previous 8-month standing Quads kill record set by professional Call of Duty players, has now been beaten by a rising group of Warzone superstars.

Could this be the ultimate record?

With the DMR meta being patched by Raven, leaving the rest of the Black Ops Cold War weapons for use in Warzone, we imagine it will be quite some time before players get comfortable enough with the new loadouts.

We’ll just have to see what weapons the community gravitates to in the coming weeks, and how efficient squads will be at winning gunfights with them.

With that said, a huge congratulations to all these players for setting the kill record. You can find all their Twitch channels below.

Warzone Bunker Keypad Codes

The Bunkers in Call of Duty: Warzone are a great source of cash, armor, and supplies for your team in Verdansk. You will need special Keypad Codes to access some of them, and here are all the ones in the game.

With Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 well underway, you can expect heavy competition from other players after you land in Verdansk. If you want to survive, then you’ll have to find ways to get ahead of your enemies through powerful weapons and gear.

Warzone Bunkers often contain fabulous rewards that you can use to kit yourself out with some impressive new gear. You’ll often have to take on your opponents before you can reap their rewards, and after that, you can enter the structure.

While some Bunkers can be accessed with a Red Access Card, others require a special code to enter them. Here are all the Bunker Keypad Codes in Warzone Season 1.

All Bunker Keypad Codes in Warzone Season 1

First thing’s first, you’ll need to find the Bunkers before you can enter them, and collect all that neat loot. You can take a look at their locations on the map in our guide for finding every Bunker in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Once you’ve found a Bunker you’ll need to head inside, and you will spot a keypad next to a locked door. From there, you can enter the following codes for each corresponding bunker:

  • Bunker North the Junkyard: 87624851
  • Bunker South-West of the Boneyard: 97264138
  • Bunker near Styor Spomenik war memorial: 60274513
  • Shack North-East of the Prison: 72948531
  • Room in Farmland: 49285163
  • Shack near TV Station: 27495810
Shack North-East of the Prison

That covers every Bunker Keypad Code in Warzone Season 1.

You can make things a little easier for yourself by looking at the locations of these bunkers on a map by Reddit user HUX3L in the official Call of Duty: Warzone subreddit.

While Bunkers provide you with amazing rewards and benefits that can sway the game in your favor, they also pose a high risk since you’ll have to battle a ton of other players that are looking to kit-out their squads.

The best strategy when you make your way into a Bunker is to have your team watching your back. One teammate should guard the entrance while the other focuses on opening the locked door. Hopefully, this helped,. Stay tuned for more Warzone guides on the way.
