With Warzone Season 5, the developers brought on-demand texture streaming to console, a feature that had been available on PC for some time. Let’s get into the details for those who want to know what it is and how to turn it on.

Warzone Season 5 hasn’t just brought various weapon buffs and nerfs, as well as a patch, will a variety of changes. It also brought on-demand texture streaming to console.

This was a feature previously only available on PC, much like the FOV setting, but console players can now make use of it.

Essentially, on-demand texture streaming allows players to stream higher resolution textures into Warzone to improve the game’s fidelity. This will provide more color to textures and overall make colors pop more while playing Warzone.

This will also help you save some space on your hard drive, as the game will now be streaming these assets rather than having them stored on the database.

Activision themselves stated that the setting was introduced to “reduce the game’s overall package size by removing certain textures rarely used or encountered by players.” This is great, especially for those still running the game on base consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One, as these consoles don’t have much storage available.

As long as you have the bandwidth and 24GB free space on consoles to enable the feature, you might as well, as the Warzone on-demand texture streaming setting could improve your overall visual experience in the Call of Duty battle royale.

Turning this feature on is simple. Just go to the “General” tab in your settings while on the Warzone app. Then, under the “Details & Textures” section, you will be able to enable the setting and set the quality.

If you’re on a console, you can also set a daily limit for the setting so that it doesn’t draw too much internet bandwidth over time. Just press the square or X button depending on your console while on the Warzone on-demand texture streaming setting, and it allows you to do so.
