Warzone Pacific Season 1 is set to bring some significant changes to the table. Here are some of the most important updates and additions players can expect on December 8.

As eager Call of Duty fans anticipate the groundbreaking launch of Vanguard Season 1 and Warzone Pacific, Activision has released some brand new patch notes for players to sift through.

It’s safe to say that players will be diving into a completely different Warzone experience than what they are used to. With many changes to dissect here are some of the highlights that you won’t want to miss.

Warzone Pacific Season 1 changes

Post-Gulag weapons & equipment

Caldera will deliver a more forgiving Gulag experience. Previously, winning your Gulag gunfight meant dropping back into Verdansk with a pistol in hand. Warzone Pacific is making it so players drop back in with the loadout used to win their Gulag. In other words, players will have access to at least one weapon, if not two, and possibly any equipment that remains after the duel.

Players familiar with the Iron Trials ’84 Warzone game mode will already be accustomed to this new gameplay mechanic.

Equipment balancing & Loadout Drop purchase

Several elements are being tuned prior to Caldera’s launch. Most of these elements correspond to player loadouts. For starters Stopping Power Rounds have been completely removed from the game as a Field Upgrade. In addition, the Dead Silence Field Upgrade is receiving a considerable nerf.

Raven Software has also promised to reduce the effectiveness of Stun Grenades, Heartbeat Sensors, and dual-wield melee weapons. These components were all widely used at one point in the Warzone cycle. It makes sense to pinpoint overpowered elements for players to start Caldera on even footing.

Another massively important change to note is the inability to call in a Loadout Drop from a Buy Station prior to the Loadout Drop event falling across the map. This will have a huge impact on strategy as many high-level players aim to purchase their Loadout Drop as quickly as possible in order to get a head start on the competition. That will no longer be possible. Also, when playing the Vanguard Royale playlist, Loadouts can only contain Vanguard weapons.

Alongside the nerf to some overpowered equipment, players can expect a buff to equipment that has gotten less love over the years. For starters, most equipment will deal more damage. Secondly, the Snapshot Grenade is receiving an increase in effective range. Stim equipment will now provide a momentary boost to movement speed and the Decoy Grenade will pack rubber bullets that deal a small amount of damage to enemies.

Gas Mask buff

One of Warzone’s most prominent complaints is finally getting a fix. It seems as though Gas Masks will no longer interrupt the majority of your actions in Caldera.

In the past, the animation of removing or applying a mask has left players vulnerable when engaged in a gunfight. This change will also make plating within gas a more fluid experience.

Walk through water

Lagoon Warzone Pacific

Players will be able to take to the water in Caldera. Although Operators still cannot swim in deep waters, shallow areas such as the Lagoon will inhibit players to swim through water. Players walking in water will be harder to track even when the Tracker Perk is equipped.

Furthermore, crouching in water will give you the effects of Cold Blooded. Lastly, when fire-based equipment makes contact with water, layers of smoke will appear. Each of these elements adds a new layer of strategy when traversing the map.

These are the major changes expected on December 8. Warzone players sure have a lot to get used to. This transition period will be an exciting one, stay tuned for more Vanguard Season 1 and Warzone Pacific: Caldera news before its release.

How to unlock RA 225 SMG in Warzone & Vanguard Season 5

Warzone and Vanguard’s new Season 5 SMG is set to deliver incredible mobility and a fast fire rate, so here’s how to unlock the RA 225.

RA 255 SMG Warzone Vanguard Season 5

The RA 225 SMG is making its way to Vanguard and Warzone during Season 5, and the weapon’s speed in tight spaces should be a valuable addition to both games.

With Season 5 set to act as the final chapter of Vanguard and Warzone before players move on to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, the RA 225 will be one of the last weapons to enter the fold.

We’ve seen a ton of post-launch Vanguard SMGs join the pool of weapons over the seasons, and it’s only right that players receive one final SMG before saying goodbye.

The new SMG will rely on a high fire rate and excellent mobility to dominate Season 5 of Warzone and Vanguard, so here’s how to unlock the RA 225.

How to unlock the RA 225 SMG in Warzone & Vanguard

Warzone and Vanguard’s RA 225 SMG will arrive at the start of Season 5 on August 24, and it will be available through the Battle Pass. At the moment, we don’t know the exact tier that the weapon will become available, but it should be either 15 or 31 according to previous seasons.

The RA 225 SMG will be one of two weapons arriving via the Season 5 Battle Pass, with the EX1 being the other. These two weapons should be free unlocks that occupy tiers 15 and 31 of the Battle Pass.

Menendez and Al-Asad in Warzone Season 5

The Call of Duty blog for the Season 5 roadmap explains that “this SMG has a high fire rate and a very mobile compact frame.” The RA 225 is a lightweight SMG, which means it should provide excellent mobility for those looking to finesse opponents in Warzone Season 5.

Although it does come with quick handling, its fast fire rate means that while it will be devastating in close-range gunfights, you will have to manage some upward recoil kick that the RA 225 displays.

Its base form doesn’t boast the highest firepower possible, but with the right attachments, you should be able to increase its damage and recoil control to your liking.

Warzone Heroes vs Villains event: Gameplay, Faction Tokens & free rewards

Warzone Pacific Season 5 brings the Heroes vs Villains event, so here’s everything you need to know including the gameplay and free rewards.

Warzone player in Heroes vs Villains event

Warzone Pacific Season 5 brings the Heroes vs Villains event to celebrate the arrival of classic Call of Duty baddies. Here’s everything you need to know about the event, including the Faction Tokens, gameplay, and free rewards.

Modern Warfare 2 is almost here, and Warzone Pacific is going out with a fiery bang in Season 5. Classic villains have brought weapons from the original Modern Warfare 2 and Advanced Warfare, setting up the new Heroes vs Villains Community Event.

Here’s everything we know about Warzone Season 5’s Heroes vs Villains event so far, including its gameplay, Faction Tokens, Faction Bundles, and free rewards.

Warzone Season 5 last stand artwork

Warzone Heroes vs Villains event gameplay

The Heroes vs Villains event will take over all of Warzone Season 5, where players must pick whether they want to support the Heroes or Villains.

Faction Tokens appear in every mode, and it sounds like players must use these to help decide which team will come out on top. During this event, players can earn free rewards such as Calling Cards and Blueprints.

Warzone Faction Tokens explained

When playing any Warzone game mode during the Heroes vs Villains event, players can collect either Villain or Hero Tokens by “eliminating opponents and scavenging Supply Boxes.”

These Tokens will offer a discount on Faction Bundles at Buy Stations, and purchasing them will offer a discount on any other item from the Buy Station.

Details are sparse at the moment, but it sounds like these Faction Bundles will act like Donation Boards in Fortnite, where players spend cash to vote on an item they want to return. In Warzone, it sounds like players will be voting for whether they want the Heroes or Villains to win by the end of the event.

At the end of the Heroes vs Villains Warzone event, every player will be awarded a unique Weapon Blueprint based on the winning team — Heroes or Villains.

That’s not all though, as like any other Warzone event there are free cosmetics to earn by completing challenges. Here’s every reward confirmed so far:

  • Legendary animated “One vs. One” Calling Card
  • Hero’s or Villain’s Weapon Charm
  • “Conflict Spike” Melee Weapon Blueprint
  • “Time Duality” Watch
  • More
