Warzone Pacific March 3 update patch notes: UAV price change, Rebirth Iron Trials, bug fixes

Here are the full patch notes for Warzone’s March 3 update which brings Rebirth Iron Trials and reverts the UAV price change.

Warzone player using buy station

Warzone’s developers are releasing another update at 10 AM PT on March 3, reverting UAV price changes, introducing the Rebirth Iron Trials mode, and including more bug fixes.

Raven Software released a major update on March 2, fixing the overpowered Bren barrel, increasing Vanguard Royale health, and adding UAVs back to Buy Stations – at an increased price. Not even 24 hours later, they’re releasing another patch with the introduction of Rebirth Iron Trials that reverts the UAV price change.

Here’s everything in Warzone’s March 3 update patch notes, including the changes to UAVS, all of the Iron Trials details, and the extra bug fixes.

Warzone March 3 patch notes

Vanguard Royale

The adjustments detailed in our March 2nd patch notes will be going live today with the Playlist update at Noon PST.

That said, we’ve made one final change:

  • UAV’s are now available in Buy Stations for $6,000

Upon further discussion, our team has decided to reintroduce UAVs at the lower price point of $6,000 to monitor match pacing closer to the original design. Once we’ve gathered enough data, we’ll make the subsequent decision as to whether or not we follow through with the proposed increase to $9,000.

Providing Players with a fun and consistent long-term experience can sometimes take a little bit of short-term experimentation!

Rebirth Iron Trials

The Iron Trials make a glorious return today as part of the March 3rd Playlist update – this time to Rebirth Island!

At its core, Rebirth Iron Trials is a Battle Royale game mode — the last team standing wins, the Circle Collapse shrinks the playable area to promote engagements, and those who die earlier in the game have a chance to respawn if they win a duel in the Rebirth Island Gulag.

However, Iron Trials brings numerous fundamental changes to this traditional Battle Royale formula. All of them are meant to give players the chance to prove themselves as truly elite Operators — here’s what they are specifically:

  • Match Duration & Circle Collapse
    • Round Timers have been adjusted to reflect the scale of the Rebirth Island map and increased for the pacing of the game.
  • Loadouts
    • No free Loadout Drops — those who want to use their custom-built weaponry and gain access to Perks will need to purchase one at a premium.
    • Vehicles
      • Only ATVs are available.
    • Buy Stations
      • Elite Operators are known to be high rollers. The Buy Station increased their prices accordingly:
    • Armor Bundle
      • $1,500 to $2,000
    • Gas Mask
      • $3,000 to $4,000
    • Cluster Strike
      • $3,000 to $4,000
    • Precision Strike
      • $3,500 to $4,500
    • Self Revive
      • $4,000 to $5,000
    • UAV
      • $4,000 to $6,000
    • Loadout Drop Marker
      • $7,500 to $10,000 in Rebirth Island
    • Specialist Token
      • $30,000
  • Cash
    • The amount of Cash retained on death has been increased from 20% to 30%. Players will keep more of their hard-earned Cash.
  • Melee
    • Melee Finisher Damage has been removed. Settle the score with lead.

  • Base Health
    • Compared to a normal match, all players’ base health is increased from 100 to 250.
  • Health Regeneration
    • The regen delay timer has been increased from 5 to 7 seconds and regen per second has been decreased from 120 per second to 40. It may be wise for players to reconsider preferred Perks and Equipment.
  • Starting Equipment
    • Players drop in with a Top Break (VG) & Sawtooth (VG).

  • Overall
    • The item pool for Supply Boxes and items found on the ground have been significantly altered from that seen in standard play.
  • Basic Attachments
    • Common Weapons will start with an Attachment – mostly to provide their max magazine size.
  • Rarity Spawn Rates
    • Epic and Legendary weapons are now harder to find. Players will have to open a few more boxes than usual to find what they’re looking for.
  • Killstreaks
    • Drop rates have been reduced. Time to stop spamming UAVs and to start putting those senses to the test.
  • Cash Spawns
    • Larger piles of cash are rarer. Players will have to stay on top of scavenging for cash if they plan to afford a Loadout.
  • Field Upgrades
    • No Dead Silence. No Stopping Power Rounds. Period.

  • Sniper Rifles
    • A single headshot from a Sniper Rifle will only down an enemy if they are within 30 meters. This gives time for those on the receiving end of a longshot to react – the most elite snipers will be able to adjust their strategies accordingly and still dish out lethal damage at long range with precise follow-up shots.
  • Stun Grenades
    • Stun effect duration decreased by 50%.
  • Medical Syringes
    • Health regeneration rate decreased by 50%. Upon taking non-Incendiary, direct damage from another Player (Tactical Equipment splash damage does not count), the Medical Syringe’s increased health regeneration effects will be canceled and standard health regeneration will begin–which can be interrupted by any source of damage. Additionally, the movement speed bonus gained when using a Medical Syringe has been decreased from 8% to 3%.

When Iron Trials was last with us, Medical Syringes were the go-to Tactical Equipment. We would like to experiment with reducing their effectiveness to see how this impacts gameplay and Equipment viability in the hands of Rebirth Island’s most seasoned veterans. We will be monitoring this change closely to ensure it does not have a net negative impact on the gameplay experience Trials Players have come to expect.

  • Loadouts
    • No akimbo. No semi-auto or fully auto Shotguns. Limited selection of Tactical Equipment. It’s down to the bare essentials and the will to survive.
  • Redeployment
    • If players happen to survive their Gulag match, they’ll redeploy with whatever equipment is leftover from that fight. Be mindful of those resources.

Squad Size

  • Duos
    • We want players to really feel the impact of the increased Time-to-Kill. You only get to pick one squadmate… so choose wisely and watch each other’s backs.

Unique Animated Calling Card Reward

For Rebirth Iron Trials victors, there’s an exclusive new Animated Calling Card to flex your prowess in winning the trial.

JGOD reveals Warzone’s best long-range weapons after Season 4 update

Warzone specialist JGOD has revealed his best long-range weapon picks following the Season 4 update that affected the meta.

Call of Duty expert and Warzone extraordinaire JGOD has analyzed the many long-range weapon options and revealed the best guns to use following the Season 4 update.

Warzone devs are constantly working on balancing the battle royale’s pool of weapons through updates. Seasonal updates usually provide a ton of buffs and nerfs, which tends to leave the meta in an awkward state as players rush to adapt to the changes.

With Season 3’s dominant STG44 firmly out of the picture, new long-range options have emerged in Season 4. Luckily, Warzone expert JGOD is around to break down which weapons are viable in Season 4 following buffs and nerfs.

In JGOD‘s video highlighting the top long-range Warzone weapons after the Season 4 update, he breaks down the current state of the meta.

The stats expert clearly separates long-range options into three categories: meta, top tier viable, and viable. For the sake of breaking down the best long-range weapons, JGOD sticks to revealing the weapons he believes fit the meta and top tier viable categories.

He uses these categories to explain how the meta has changed since the Season 4 update. Prior to the update, the gap between the top meta weapons and top tier viable weapons was much larger.

Now, players can find a ton of success using top tier viable weapons: “You can use other things besides the absolute meta and not be hardcore penalized.”

According to JGOD, the NZ-41 is still the best long-range weapon in the game despite recent nerfs.

However, the expert predicts that another NZ-41 nerf should arrive soon enough, which will result in the long-range weapon meta becoming incredibly varied: “The nerf will come through again for the NZ and that will push it out and all these weapons that are top tier viable will essentially be the meta.”

Following the NZ-41, JGOD picks the BAR as the next best long-range weapon. Despite its slow fire rate, the BAR is one of the best long-range weapons in Warzone thanks to how easy it is to utilize.

The majority of JGOD’s video is spent highlighting top tier viable weapons that are set to benefit from an upcoming NZ-41 nerf: “You’re going to be able to use almost anything you want as soon as this next NZ nerf comes in.”

Aside from the NZ-41 and BAR, here’s the list of long-range weapons that players should use to maximize Warzone success:

If JGOD’s prediction is correct, it seems like the meta is heading in a very interesting direction throughout Season 4. Warzone players can expect to choose from a ton of viable options thanks to a level playing field.

One-shot Crossbow loadout to disrupt Warzone meta after Season 4 buff

After receiving a buff with the Season 4 update, the Crossbow could shake up the Warzone meta with a one-shot kill loadout.

Warzone’s Crossbow has always been a tricky weapon to master, but a Season 4 buff has made it a dominant force capable of one-shot killing players with ease.

Modern Warfare’s Crossbow Marksman Rifle has been around since the inception of Warzone. The Crossbow is a unique weapon that has a steep learning curve, but even if players mastered the weapon, it never truly dominated Warzone lobbies.

All that is set to change in Season 4 after a major buff has upped the Crossbow’s bullet velocity by a whopping 27.2%. As a result, several Warzone players are now singing the praises of the unconventional weapon and tip it to shake up the meta.

Reddit user theGivvyOfficial posted a clip of their gameplay using the Crossbow to the Warzone subreddit. The montage is proof that with the right Crossbow loadout, the weapon can one-shot kill players from considerable distances.

The comments and discussion reveal that the title of the post is somewhat sarcastic, but there’s no denying that the Crossbow can be devastating in the right hands.

While it won’t necessarily be the number one meta weapon in Season 4, it has the potential to outperform some of the best medium-range options if players are looking to test out a different style of play.

Warzone Crossbow loadout attachments

  • Cable: 28-Strand Cable
  • Bolt: FTAC Fury 20″ Bolts
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Perk: Sleight of Hand
  • Arms: XRK Thunder 200 Lb

This Crossbow loadout will thrive in the hands of accurate players. Thanks to the FTAC Fury 20″ Bolts that deal damage even after they hit their mark, the Crossbow produces one-shot kills consistently.

Of course, there’s no denying the weapon’s major weakness, and players were quick to point that out in the comments: “Yeah it’s s**** in close quarters combat. It’s decent for medium range engagements like you see in this clip, It also has a steep learning curve.”

If you miss your shot from a short distance, the weapon’s brutally slow reload can put you in an unfavorable position. However, if you learn to master the weapon and hit a high percentage of your shots, the sky is the limit for the Crossbow in Season 4.

Warzone players keep getting frozen in place by Fortune’s Keep’s broken areas

Certain areas of Warzone’s Fortune’s Keep map are proving deadly as players are getting completely frozen in place.

Warzone players love Season 4’s Fortune’s Keep map, but certain areas of the map are ruining the experience by completely locking players in place.

Warzone’s smaller Rebirth Island map has always been a hit, and Season 4’s Fortune’s Keep has emulated its success. Players love the bright Mediterranean color scheme, parkour spots, and dynamic gameplay.

However, a few frustrating issues have gotten in the way. Players are finding their way under the map and behind walls for cheap kills, and now players are getting trapped in place by broken spots on the map.

As we can see in the video from Reddit user Gerbytron, they went prone in a corner to hide from an Airstrike but ended up completely stuck in the corner. As they tried everything they could to wriggle free, the final opponent stumbled across them lying face-first into a wooden crate and quickly ended their suffering.

Several players took to the comments to confirm that this wasn’t a one-off, with another user confirming they also got stuck in the Watchtower at Fortune’s Keeps Winery POI.

illmatic_gg claimed that a street curb managed to trap them in place, and Evberkel has been caught in a window a couple of times. “I feel like [Fortune’s Keep] has a lot of spots like this that you just get stuck in,” explained ultra_zagan.

But there do seem to be a couple of ways that you can wrench yourself free from these broken spots. One user explained that using a Stim can release you, but said that it doesn’t always work. Plus, if you have a Self-Revive, you can down yourself with an explosive and then crawl away to self-res.

Raven Software have fixed issues like this, including the dreaded Buy Station freeze glitch, in the past, so hopefully, players won’t be getting trapped in place for much longer.

The next major update is Season 4 Reloaded, scheduled for late July, but there might be a few bug fixes and balance changes ahead of the mid-season update.
