Warzone Pacific will receive several changes with the Season 4 update, so here’s what you can expect to see in Season 4 Mercenaries of Fortune as well as the full patch notes.

Raven Software frequently adds brand-new content and changes to Warzone Pacific through seasonal updates, and Season 3 Reloaded increased the player health on Rebirth Island while also introducing weapon buffs and nerfs.

There’s still more Warzone content to come as the year goes on and here’s everything we know about Warzone Pacific Season 4: Mercenaries of Fortune, including the start date, Caldera changes, Fortune’s Keep, and patch notes.

Warzone Season 4 Mercenaries of Fortune start date

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 is officially live, on June 22, 2022. The new update will roll out at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST.

Raven Software have delivered a ton of new content to enjoy in Warzone Season 4, so let’s get into what you should expect.

Warzone Pacific Season 4 Fortune’s Keep map

Warzone received a brand-new map in Season 4 as the Call of Duty team shared details for a destination known as Fortune’s Keep which is said to contain “new riches.”

While some are slightly worried about the map replacing Warzone’s Rebirth Island, the devs confirmed that all three maps will be playable during Season 4 with regular weekly playlist rotations. However, it seems Rebirth Island won’t be available at the start of the new Season.

Make sure you check out our full guide on the Fortune’s Keep map for more information.

Warzone Caldera map changes in Warzone Season 4

In each season of Warzone Pacific, Caldera undergoes significant map changes, and, Raven Software teased in a pre-Season 3 interview with us that Season 4 will bring “one of the biggest shifts Caldera has had since launch.”

On June 15, the Call of Duty Team revealed what changes they have in store for Caldera. The changes include new POIs, including the return of Verdansk’s Storage Town, less vegetation around the island to improve visibility, and Secret underground Mercenary Vaults.

New weapons in Warzone Season 4

As is tradition, a new season means brand-new weapons to unlock. In Season 4, players will have a total of four new weapons to discover. The first two are the Marco 5 SMG and UGM-8 LMG which will be available at the start of Season 4

The Push Dagger melee weapon and Vargo-S Assault Rifle will be available to players later on in the season.

Mercenaries of Fortune Event

The Mercenaries of Fortune Event in Warzone Season 4 will feature a new set of challenges for players to complete. They will take place on both Caldera and the new Fortune’s Keep map.

“Complete all eight challenges to earn the coveted gold skin for the Armored SUV. Ride around in this thing and there’ll be no mistaking you for a common mercenary.”

Warzone Golden Plunder LTM

Plunder has always been about the cash, which is why it’s the perfect fit for a new Season 4 LTM. In Golden Plunder, Warzone players will fight for bags of gold, and only those who secure the highest amount of cash can claim victory.

You can expect lobbies of 120 players when playing the Golden Plunder LTM. $5,000,000 is required for a win, but luckily players drop more cash on death.

New Warzone features in Season 4

Black Market Run Contract

A new contract is making its way to Warzone in Season 4. Players who activate the Black Market Run Contract will be tasked with reaching the Black Market Buy Station before a timer expires.

If you can do so, you’ll be able to use your cash to claim valuable rewards that aren’t found at regular Buy Stations like a Specialist Bonus or Nebula V Minigun.

Cash Extraction

Cash Extraction will be a feature of Resurgence Battle Royale matches. As players attempt to airlift their Cash off Fortune’s Keep, you can ambush them and claim the rewards for yourself. Just keep in mind that you may not be the only team with this objective.

Armored SUV

Armored SUVs are coming to Warzone in Season 4 as a new form of transportation. These new vehicles will facilitate movement around the map, but they can do so much more.

This vehicle is specifically designed to go on the offensive. You’ll be able to fire at players with a rooftop turret. The SUV also comes equipped with Nitro Boost to provide instant acceleration when you need to make an evasive maneuver.

EMP Grenade

With the new EMP Grenade, you’ll be able to fully disable vehicles for a period of time. This will act as the perfect counter to the aforementioned Armored SUV. The area of effect will only last for a short time so you’re going to want to make your equipment usage count.

While the EMP Grenade is non-lethal to players, it will strip them of their HUD information for a period of time.

MAPS

Fortune’s Keep | New Map

A brand-new Warzone Resurgence Battle Royale map featuring stunning vistas and undiscovered riches.

Slightly larger than Rebirth Island, this island features four distinct New Points of Interest:

  • Town
    • Cobblestone alleyways and flat rooftops to traverse across, an old fortress in the town center, a coastal path with a gazebo, and a graveyard.
  • Smuggler’s Cove
    • A lighthouse and a series of fishing huts above sea caves that contain stockpiles of equipment and loot.
  • Keep
    • The largest landmark on the island, this medieval fortress includes winding hallways, ramparts, watchtowers, and a tunnel system.
  • Winery
    • An old monastery with entrances on all sides and an underground passage, nearby a military camp.

This new map also comes with a series of brand new features to experience including…

  • Mercenary Cash Extraction | New Public Event
    • A.I. units will attempt to air lift Cash. Players can choose to intercept this extraction for rewards.
    • This Event occurs during the 2nd and 4th Circles, indicated by a signal flare and an icon on the Tac Map.
  • Black Market Supply Run | New Contract
    • This contract will require Players to track down the Black Market Buy Station before a timer expires.
    • Players will have access to unique items such as the Sequencer Grenade, the Nebula V Minigun, Foresight, a Specialist Bonus, or one of several classified Weapons.
  • Sequencer Grenade | New Tactical Equipment
    • This tactical grenade applies a visual distortion effect with floating red numbers on the victims screen, as well an auditory debuff.
    • Players can counter this effect via the Battle Hardened Perk or using a Stim.
    • Can only be acquired through the new Black Market Buy Station.

Caldera Updates

For Season Four, our goal is to open up the map for cleaner sightlines and reduced visual noise on the map. This “arid” approach to map direction will bring a new dynamic to the gameplay – bush camping will become a rarity rather than the norm, it brings added value to Field Upgrades like the Deployable Cover, and positional awareness and proximity to landmarks now being of high priority.

The many Gameplay changes made in Season Three, such as the Sniper rebalance, the Ghost movement change and the addition of the Serpentine Perk, were made in preparation of Season Four – knowing that improved map sightlines require adjustments in certain areas of the gameplay to keep engagements in a healthy balance.

With this being the most comprehensive set of changes to Caldera since Season One, we will continue to monitor feedback and sentiment and make additional changes where necessary.

  • Storage Town | New Point of Interest
    • The return of the fan favorite POI, Storage Town, now visible on the Tac Map.
    • This POI will be used for a dedicated “Clash” Limited-Time Mode in Week 3 of Season Four.
  • Micro POIs | New Map Elements
    • The addition of new micro POIs to fill gaps between the major POIs to offer more looting and engagement opportunities.
  • Mercenary Bunkers / Golden Keycards | New Gameplay
    • New keycards found in ground loot provide access to any of the 7 mercenary bunkers hidden across the map – indicated on the Tac Map with yellow circles.
  • “Arid” Vegetation | Updated Gameplay
    • Vegetation across Caldera has been reduced by 50%.
    • A new ‘arid’ look to the map was implemented to offer some visual variety to this season.  It has the added benefits of improved performance on all platforms, better Player reads, and location awareness by opening up views to landmarks. Additionally, many plant Models have quality improvements on the Xbox One.
  • Fighter Plane | Updated Gameplay
    • With the positive response to the Fighter Plane returning in Operation Monarch we have re-enabled these vehicles for Battle Royale and will continue to monitor sentiment and engagement over the season.
  • Weapon Trade Stations | New Gameplay | In-Season
    • Weapon Trade Stations have been added to various locations across Caldera that allow players to trade in their weapons for high value loot.

GAMEPLAY

New Gameplay Features

  • Armored SUV New Vehicle
    • This vehicle comes with a dedicated rooftop turret seat and additional seats for Operators to use their own loadout weapons.
    • Can be acquired as a reward for completing Sabotage Contracts.
    • [In-Season] Nitro Boost for instant but limited acceleration.
  • EMP Grenade | New Tactical Equipment | All Modes
    • A non-lethal tactical grenade designed primarily around counter-vehicle play that also disrupts enemy electronics.
    • Disrupts enemy electronics and removes the HUD for 6 seconds.
    • These effects can be reduced via the Battle Hardened Perk.
    • Deactivates Vehicle engines for 10 seconds.
  • Broken ATMs New Interactable
    • Players can choose to visit broken ATMs around the map for a guaranteed source of Cash.
    • Funds periodically spawn near broken ATMs – up to a maximum cap if left unlooted.
  • Portable Redeploy Balloon New Deployable | All Modes | In-Season
    • It’s in the name… a portable version of the popular Redeploy Balloons.
    • Can be placed on the ground and used until it expires or is destroyed.

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • Loadout Crate UI Selection
    • The in-game Loadout Crate UI selection will always start at the top of the list.

We saw frequent instances of Players selecting undesired loadouts due to the cursor remembering previous selections. In order to prevent this, the cursor will always start at the top of the list. This will better respect Player muscle memory in the heat of the moment – especially during engagements.

  • Gas Mask Animation
    • The ‘break’ animation will no longer interrupt parachuting while falling.
    • This has been updated to align with the previous update to the ‘removal’ animation.
  • Buy Station Menu
    • Option added to Settings Menu allowing Players to enable the ability to remain in the Buy Station menu/UI when making multiple purchases.
    • Player owned inventory will be indicated next to items in brackets.
      • i.g. Gas Mask [1]

We wanted to enable more advanced Players the opportunity to remain in the Buy Station when making purchases, therefore knowing the inventory count of each item became an important addition.

  • Deployable Buy Station
    • This deployable will now live for longer in the gas to keep it consistent with the behavior of the in-world Buy Station emplacements.
  • Fire Sale Public Event
    • Self Revive will now have a small associated cost similar to that of other items.
    • Loadout Drop Markers will now receive a discount.
  • Infil POI Text
    • We have updated both the font and color of the default Infil POI text to improve the visibility of High Value Loot Zones.
  • Out-Of-Bounds Timer
    • Increase to 10 seconds, up from 5 seconds.

We felt that the previous map boundary timer wasn’t long enough for Players to recognize their error and course correct in a reasonable timeframe. We have bumped this up slightly to be more sympathetic to mistakes while making sure it cannot be exploited.

  • Gulag Audio
    • Spectators now have muted footstep audio for Players who are fighting in the new “Hold” Gulag.
  • On-Screen Hit Markers
    • Reduced the duration of on-screen hit markers when Players are being hit to better show the most recent hit direction.
  • Redeploy Positioning
    • Players who redeploy via Gulag victory or are bought back will now spawn in close proximity to their Squad or Loadout.
      • This was previously implemented in Season Three but had to be reverted due to an issue that has subsequently been resolved.

PERKS

  • Ground Loot Perks
    • We’ve been delighted with the response to Perks in Ground Loot so have added the following as the rarest drop rate:
      • Ghost
      • Combat Scout
      • Double Time
      • Cold Blooded
      • Amped

Perk Adjustments

  • Battle Hardened
    • Stun and flash resistance increased to 70%, up from 40%

With our push for stronger counterplay opportunities, there were clear gains to be had with a buff here.

  • Scavenger
    • Awards an additional $500 in the scavenger pouch with each kill.
  • Hardline
    • Provides a 25% discount on all Buy Station items, including Loadout Drop Markers.

We felt that given the inherent nature of the Perk requiring a Player to have either found Hardline in ground loot, or to have already collected their Loadout, the value and consistency of the Perk needed to be improved.

Previous Adjustments

This work was completed during Season Three Reloaded but is listed here for comprehensiveness.

  • Restock Perk
    • Recharge Time increased to 30 seconds, up from 25 seconds.
  • Radar Jammer
    • Reduced drop rate chances in Rebirth Resurgence and Fortune’s Keep.

Melee Weapons were often falling short of a straight up engagement in cqc, in addition their movement speeds were no longer competitive with some of the faster and more aggressive Weapon builds. As a result many Melee Weapons have had their swing time (the time it takes to swing the weapon in succession) and movement speed adjusted positively.

The Armaguerra 43 (VG) currently fills a jack of all trades role, where it doesn’t particularly excel at any-one thing. The H4 Blixen (VG) made a pretty impressive statement when it first launched and we’ve seen its adoption rate higher than any midseason weapon in Warzone’s history. This is largely due to the overall effectiveness of the weapon. This update attempts to slightly adjust its Damage profile and overall mobility dominance to weaken its mid range effectiveness, where the weapon has been performing most consistently above the competition.

Best KG M40 loadout for Warzone Pacific Season 4

Here are the attachments, Perks, and Equipment you need for the best loadout for the KG M40 Assault Rifle in Warzone Pacific Season 4.

Published

on

The KG M40 Assault Rifle has become a viable pick in Warzone Pacific Season 4, and here are the right attachments, Perks, and Equipment needed to build the best KG M40 loadout.

The KG M40 first arrived in Warzone Pacific Season 2 and was recognized for its extremely low recoil, but it didn’t gain much popularity due to the competitive Assault Rifle meta that was present at the time.

However, numerous Warzone experts feel that this is the easiest weapon to use in Season 4 and could be the new meta following its recent buffs. We’ll go over the right attachments, Perks, and Equipment for the best KG M40 loadout in Warzone Pacific Season 4.

Best Warzone KG M40 loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: MX Silencer
  • Barrel: Reisdorf 720mm Shrouded
  • Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
  • Stock: Krausnick 12V
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Hand Stop
  • Magazine: 8mm Klauser 60 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
  • Proficiency: Tight Grip
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

We’ll kick off this Warzone Pacific KG M40 loadout by improving the bullet velocity, damage range, and recoil control with the help of the MX Silencer muzzle and Reisdorf 720mm Shrouded barrel.

You can control the recoil even more manageable by equipping the Krausnick 12V Stock and M1941 Hand Stop. The 8mm Klauser 60 Round Drums and Lengthened ammo give you more bullets and improve the weapon’s range even further.

Combining the Polymer Grip and Tight Grip Perk allow your KG M40 to get more accurate the longer you fire. Then, Fully Loaded will give ensure that you start off the match with max ammo.

Finally, we picked the SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x as our choice of optic so that you can use its magnification to pick off enemies from a distance.

Best Perks & Equipment to use with Warzone KG M40

  • Perk 1: E.O.D
  • Perk 2: Overkill
  • Perk 3: Amped
  • Lethal Equipment: Throwing Knife
  • Tactical Equipment: Stim

Explosives can cause serious problems, so you’ll need to equip E.O.D in order to survive any grenades, rockets, or Semtex that enemies will throw your way. Overkill will let you pair the KG M40 with a close-range option like the Marco 5.

Amped will make swapping between the two weapons instantaneous. Coming to Equipment, the Throwing Knife is handy for quickly killing downed enemies, and the Stim will replenish your health and allow you to move much faster.

How to unlock KG M40 in Warzone

Warzone Pacific’s KG M40 Assault Rifle can be obtained by completing an unlock challenge that requires you to earn 3 double kill medals with an Assault Rifle in a single match 15 times.

Best alternatives to the KG M40 in Warzone

If you’re looking for a great alternative to the KG M40 in Warzone then the XM4 is a top-tier choice for quickly eliminating enemies in long-range combat.

The AS44 has become a great choice in Season 4 and you can use it to dish out a ton of pain to your opponents.

CoD Warzone 2: Leaks, rumors, platforms & release window

Activision are developing Warzone 2, so here’s everything we know about the sequel to CoD’s popular battle royale.

Published

on

Activision have confirmed a sequel to Warzone will be coming, and here’s everything we know about Warzone 2, including all leaks, rumors, and the release window.

Call of Duty: Warzone has changed significantly since its March 2020 release, with the game receiving every weapon from Black Ops Cold War as well as Vanguard, Verdansk getting nuked, and the setting now taking place in the Pacific.

Now, Activision are looking at moving the battle royale title on further, as they have confirmed that along with Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2 is also in the works.

Here’s everything we know about Call of Duty: Warzone 2.

What is Call of Duty: Warzone 2?

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is the sequel to CoD’s hit battle royale, which is set to bring “new technology, new features, and new gameplay that work seamlessly together.”

Warzone 2 will be closely related to Modern Warfare 2, featuring “Modern Warfare II content and systems with brand-new progression and inventories.”

When could Warzone 2 release?

Activision have confirmed that Warzone 2 is set to release later this year, 2022, after the release of Modern Warfare 2 on October 28.

Many believe Warzone 2 could follow the same release pattern as its predecessor, releasing around five months after (Modern Warfare 2019).

We don’t yet have an official release date for Warzone 2, but as more information is released we will be sure to update this piece.

Warzone 2 platforms

Warzone 2 will be released on both current and last-gen consoles, as well as Battle.net and Steam for PC. Following in Modern Warfare 2’s footsteps, Warzone 2 will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Activision confirmed the news on June 8 as they look to provide a wide-reaching experience across both titles.

While Tom Henderson’s previously stated that Warzone 2 will only be on current-gen and PC, he also said there’s a “possibility” that it will also release on previous-gen consoles too.

While Warzone 2 will be a “completely new game for better hardware,” he said it’s possible that they will release a separate previous-gen version without cross-generation play. DICE did a similar thing with Battlefield 2042, where previous-gen consoles received a scaled-back version.

We would expect improved visuals, and maybe even the highly-requested FOV slider on next-gen consoles. He said that “it’s believed this move is to finally move over to current-gen hardware in the best way possible.”

Warzone 2 gameplay

Henderson claims that Warzone 2 will be a “clean slate” which means “starting again, scrapping everything like weapons, operators etc.”

He said that “Warzone 2 is basically a new COD title,” and players should “look at it as a sequel.” Activision later confirmed that Warzone inventory including current weapons, Operators, Perks, and Killstreaks will not transfer over to Warzone 2.

On May 18, players received plenty of new information concerning possible Warzone 2 gameplay. For starters, leakers Henderson and NerosCinema both reported that Warzone 2 will come with loadout drop changes.

A new mechanic called Strongholds is set to alter the way players receive their loadouts. According to leaks, players can approach one of the 20-30 Stronghold areas on the map and complete a set of objectives. Once these objectives are complete they’ll gain access to their loadouts.

Some of the reported objectives involve defusing a bomb or defeating AI enemies. Strongholds will surely add a new layer of strategy to Warzone as each Stronghold can only be captured once per game.

According to the same report, looting will also undergo changes and resemble the system used in Black Ops 4’s Blackout. Supposedly, you won’t spawn in with any armor and you’ll need to find a satchel to equip plates.

This isn’t the only feature that could be returning from previous CoD titles as Pro Perks could also appear. These boosted Perks first arrived in 2009’s Modern Warfare and they provide additional features that will benefit players. NerosCinema believes they’ll make their way to Warzone 2.

It seems Warzone 2 could also borrow from competitors by reportedly introducing a bag system for inventory management, similar to Apex Legends or PUBG.

Furthermore, Call of Duty devs have confirmed that the RICOCHET anti-cheat system will be available in both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 at launch. This should provide a fresh opportunity for players looking to play a cheater-free battle royale from the start.

Warzone 2 maps

At the time of writing, there’s no official confirmation concerning the maps that players will be able to drop into when Warzone 2 finally launches. But there have been a handful of leaks that might shed some light on possible POIs.

Industry insider Tom Henderson has reported that four classic Modern Warfare 2 maps are set to return as POIs for the Warzone 2 map. Once again, this information has not been confirmed but Henderson believes that High Rise, Quarry, Terminal, and Afghan are the four maps that will feature in Warzone 2.

Later Henderson would go on to reveal what he believed to be all 18 Warzone 2 POIs. He couldn’t go into specifics about each one, but he did share the names of each one:

  • Oasis
  • Wartorn
  • Quarry (Quarry)
  • Oilfield
  • Modern City (Highrise)
  • Caves (Afghan)
  • Dam
  • Marshes
  • Harbor
  • Sira
  • Observatory
  • Mountain town (possibly Favela)
  • Graveyard
  • Oldtown
  • Shipwreck
  • Fishtown
  • Fort
  • Airport (Terminal)

Nothing is confirmed here, and there is also every chance that the names of these POIs could change ahead of release. He also stated that there could very well be more than just four MW2 maps that appear, so some of these POIs could hide another classic map from 2009.

Continuing with the leaks, TheMW2Ghost shared a recreation of what they claim to be the Warzone 2 map.

The map lacks detail at this stage, but it shows what appear to be roads passing through the map. In addition, there’s a large river cutting through the middle of the map. While this isn’t official artwork they claim that it is a “remake based off of the actual map image.”

While we don’t have official images of the map as of yet, Tom Henderson also revealed a drawing of the map that highlights map information from the industry insider.

As you can see the map is set to be on the coast similar to Verdansk, and the POIs by the water could make use of the new swimming mechanic that is expected in Warzone 2.

When speaking of the map size, Henderson said “it does seem bigger than that of Verdansk and Caldera, especially considering if the grid reference is accurate.” Henderson also claimed that Warzone 2 would share the same map with Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ game mode.

On July 2, a major Modern Warfare 2 leak revealed images of several multiplayer maps including Ground War maps. As previously mentioned by Infinity Ward, Ground War maps will come together to form the new Warzone 2 map.

Hydro was the first Ground War map to leak, and the image above showcases a desert landscape with water flowing through the center. Given that Infinity Ward confirmed the Warzone 2 engine will support swimming, don’t be surprised to see many POIs featuring water.

The next map that was a part of the Ground War leak is Fishtown. If we take the name of the map into account this could turn out to be a port city of some sort. The image already reveals a beach that trails off right before we see the shore.

The final Ground War map revealed in the leak is called Sira. Sira looks much less rural than the previous two maps, with a modern-looking facility taking center stage. There is still evidence of a tropical environment given the number of palm trees in the image.

Will Warzone still exist after Warzone 2 releases?

Activision have confirmed that Warzone will continue to exist after Warzone 2 is released: “Warzone will continue as a separate experience that will include a continuation of player progression and inventories within that Warzone experience.”

Having said that, Warzone 2 will be a brand new game, separate from the original, meaning that player inventories will be reset.

Cheaters infest Warzone again as players claim providers are back with free hacks

Warzone players are frustrated with a recent increase in the number of cheaters running rampant in Season 4 of the battle royale.

Published

on

Frustrated players are claiming that an uptick in cheaters during Warzone Season 4 is a direct effect of cheat providers offering free hacks.

Warzone Season 4 delivered a ton of new content to enjoy including the brand-new Fortune’s Keep map that players have praised for its exciting gameplay. Unfortunately, a recent increase in the number of cheaters is ruining the fun and leading to a frustrated community of players.

After RICOCHET anti-cheat made running into Warzone hacks less frequent, players claim that cheat providers are returning with new and improved software to bypass the anti-cheat. To make matters worse, it seems providers are offering their cheats free of charge.

Warzone has always had a major issue with cheaters ruining matches for legitimate players. Without a proper anti-cheat protecting Warzone players, cheat providers had nothing to worry about.

This all changed with the launch of RICOCHET during Warzone Pacific Season 1. Since then, RICOCHET has implemented several methods to prevent cheaters from running rampant.

For a while, it became less common for cheaters to appear in-game, as the anti-cheat successfully snuffed out hacks. However, it seems that cheat providers have finally caught up to RICOCHET in Season 4, with many players reporting an increase in cheaters.

A post from the Warzone subreddit has players discussing why the recent uptick in cheaters has occurred. For starters, most players claimed that cheat providers have been offering their hacks for free as of late: “Engineowning Hack company is giving out a free wall hack this weekend for the fourth!! that’s why.”

The fact that Warzone cheats are available for free is a major issue in itself, but the most pressing matter that players discussed was the fact that cheat providers have updated their services to counter RICOCHET in its current state.

After being relativity quiet for a long period of time, it seems cheat providers have returned with new products that are designed to bypass the current version of RICOCHET: “A streamer said that a company that makes the cheats put out a update to be able to cheat again.”

It looks like RICOCHET and cheat providers will continue to trade blows in a repetitive cycle. We already know that RICOCHET is a form of software that adapts to new cheats and improves its ability to pinpoint cheaters over time.

As cheat providers continue to develop new and improved cheats, RICOCHET will take some time to catch up before it can detect and eliminate hackers. However, once it does catch up, the number of hackers should drop significantly thus repeating the cycle once more.
