After complaints from the community, the developers have decided to fully remove the bloom mechanic in Warzone Pacific Season 1.

Warzone Pacific Season 1 has introduced players to a lot of new content, thanks to the Vanguard integration. As well as new weapons, with the Season 1 Battle Pass Assault Rifle impressing the likes of FaZe Swagg. Although, the integration also brought over a controversial mechanic.

This mechanic is known as bloom, and many will be very happy to know that it has now been completely scrapped from Warzone Pacific.

For those that don’t know, Vanguard’s multiplayer possesses a mechanic called bloom with all its weapons. This mechanic basically gives the weapon’s bullets some RNG when it comes to direction.

This essentially means that no matter where you place your reticle, your bullet may not actually hit directly on that exact point every time. Upon the introduction of Vanguard, the mechanic was also brought across into Warzone via the new weapons.

Games like Battlefield 2042 and Fortnite possess this bloom feature, mostly because it makes the game more accessible for those who aren’t the best at aiming.

In general, the Call of Duty community is against this mechanic, with many considering it to be very controversial. It hasn’t been seen before in Warzone, so naturally many were confused as to why they decided to introduce it.

Although the mechanic was only active on the Vanguard weapons, many weren’t happy about its arrival. Luckily for these players, the December 15 update seems to have completely removed it.

As you can see, prior to the update the AS44’s ADS spread was all over the place, with bullets going in all sorts of directions. After the recent update, this has now been removed, and players are definitely happy about it. Some are even asking for it to be removed from Vanguard’s Multiplayer in the comments of CharlieINTEL’s Twitter post:

“Now remove it from vanguard and never add it to call of duty ever again.”

We’ll have to wait and see exactly how Sledgehammer Games handle the consistent backlash about bloom in future Vanguard updates, but Raven Software seemed to be fairly quick about the change following the community outrage.
