Warzone Forfeit screen is costing players wins

Warzone players Tommey and Almxnd received a strange new forfeit screen in the final circle of a match, and this kept them from achieving victory, much to their confusion.

Warzone Season 2 brought a ton of easter eggs and clues for players to discover around the map. This includes the new Foresight scorestreak, along with hints of a possible 80s themed Verdansk revamp, so there’s plenty of content to enjoy.

However, renowned Warzone players Thomas ‘Tommey’ Trewren and Ben ‘Almxnd’ came across something strange during a match on April 8. They both received a rare forfeit screen which left them bewildered.

A Warzone match can get extremely intense during the final circle, as it’s up to the best squad to win. You’ll need to be particularly careful to secure a victory, but anything can happen in those last few minutes.

Tommey and Almxnd were searching for their opponent, when they both suddenly received a countdown timer, along with a notification that their opponents were forfeiting the match. This was likely a result of the last team leaving the game during the final circle.

However, this was something had never happened to either of the veteran players before, and they were left scratching their heads about what transpired.

Tommey later revealed that the match didn’t count as a win on his statistics, even though the victory normally goes to the last man standing. This is a feature that is unfamiliar to most players in the Call of Duty community.

At the moment, it’s unclear whether this forfeit screen has been in the game since the very beginning, or if it was added to the battle royale in a later patch. Regardless, it’s definitely confusing why the win didn’t go to the last remaining player.

Hopefully, Raven Software will investigate this issue, as it can become frustrating to lose your hard-earned win to a forfeit screen. Once there’s any new developments regarding this, we’ll let you know.
