Warzone players beg Raven to improve “broken” ping system

Warzone Pacific players are calling for Raven Software to implement some major changes to the game’s “broken” ping system in a future update.

Communication with your squad is vital to winning Warzone matches, and pinging can be useful when one of your teammates is unable to speak verbally or if you’d like to point out an important item on the map.

However, Warzone Pacific players are frustrated with the way this mechanic currently works in the game, and are asking the developers to bring a major change that will make it easier to use on the Caldera map.

Reddit user ‘Paul-bag’ brought up this issue in the CoD: Warzone subreddit, claiming that the game’s ping system has always been a problem but it has only gotten worse with the arrival of Caldera.

They asked: “Can we get a ping system that actually pings where your crosshair is instead of pinging any vehicle or piece of loot that might be within a 10-mile radius of where you’re pinging?”

Another commenter shared this sentiment: “The number of times I try to ping an enemy location and either ping a gun 200 meters in front of that, or an open door next to me, or the ping just doesn’t work.”

Some players in the thread claimed that the ping system “broke” after the arrival of CoD: Vanguard and called for the developers to implement a fix soon.

Another user suggested looking at the ping system of other games in order to fix the one in Warzone: “They could take inspiration from Apex. I wouldn’t mind that even if it was copy-pasted.”

While this is an extremely helpful tool, it can be detrimental to communication with your teammates if you end up accidentally pinging the wrong object or location, leaving them looking in the wrong direction.

At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not the developers are planning on changing the ping system in Warzone Pacific Season 2 since they haven’t currently listed it on the Trello board.
